Uri - The Surgical Strike Set To Cross Simmba

Tuesday 19 February 2019 11.00 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

Uri - The Surgical Strike continued its miracle run as it collected 1.25 crore nett on the sixth Wednesday. The collections of the film went up in mass centres from the Monday probably because Gully Boys has not done too well in these places

The trending of this film is just phenomenal to say the least. As soon as it looks its slowing down the collections again get some life and somehow it manages to sustain better than expected. The film is again looking at a 40% drop week on week when that did not look like the case on Friday. The sixth week is going to end at 11-12 crore nett which is almost double anything seen before it.

The way the film is going now the 250 crore nett total is a possibility and it should on a worse case scenario cross Simmba to be among the top ten NETT grossers of all time.. The collections of Uri - The Surgical Strike are as follows.

Week One - 71,23,00,000

Week Two - 62,76,00,000

Week Three - 37,06,00,000

Week Four - 29,30,00,000

Fifth Week - 18,73,00,000

Friday - 1,20,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 2,50,00,000 apprx

Sunday 3,25,00,000 apprx

Monday - 1,25,00,000 apprx

Sixth Week - 8,20,00,000 (5 Days)

TOTAL - 2,26,98,00,000 apprx

Movie deserve all the success ..
I feel.lifetime will b 250 crore. .

Had it released in 4000 screens from start itself like other biggies it might hv gone till 400 crore or even bigger ..Producers underestimated the movie's value here..

Tbh it would struggle to get total occupancy. Reports would be mixed and WOM would be affected.

Well i doubt that would hv happened bec when promo released reports were super positive and thing is in India surgical strike happened just 2 yrs ago ..so the hype film got before release was huge here in India ..so I feel it would hv got huge opening if it was promoted and released in grand scale bec anyway it had Govt backing bec of the storyline .. free shows in schools colleges etc would hv given it huge hype..

I have completely opposite views on this. They made this incredible movies without spending unnecessarily. Hype would kill it. Most big budgeted movies dont sustain.

I totally endorse budget movies with lesser known stars but strong scripts and direction.

I agree on budget part ..i m not saying u hv to mk every movie on a grand scale to give it bigger release ..what i m saying is a small budget movie can b released on a grand scale too if its based on a nationalistic event that has happened recently & is fresh in public minds ..it might just b a game changer ..

Superstars would hv killed the movie with ott heroism and this is the era of realistic and subtleness ..

Uri worked bec everything was raw and real and the hero was not the typical hero ..
