Totally agree with you... Even if Kunal is gonna be disheartened after knowing about Ishan and Mauli, it's nothing like the pain he gave to Mauli. My biggest problem with this serial has been this. Kunal or Nandini never really realised the cruelty of their sin, or repented for it, or suffered to the extent of Mauli's pain.
Kunan can never be justified, neither Maunal should be, at this juncture of the show... Caught up with the last two episodes, and finally finally saw a changed Mauli who was happy with Ishaan. She seems to have moved on from her painful past, from Kunal, and truly happy and ready to start a new life with Ishaan and Mishti...very happy at this development...
