I found today's episode to be very interesting and layered. A lot of this show is built up like the Acts in a stage play...where the characters all move around like chess pieces from act to act and Krishna serves both as narrator and participant...he is simultaneously a chess piece himself as well as the one outside the story in a sense too.
The amusement of Krishna and Balram's nautanki and other attempts today to dupe everyone into believing they were the real victims here can be kept aside, cuz ultimately they did lie a lot...and those lies ultimately fell apart and faced some consequences. The Lord himself couldn't outrun building up THAT much of a castle of lies😆
Radha is a seriously misunderstood character in some ways, unfortunately 😆. It seems the only expectation from her is that she smile and dance with Krishna all the time...as if there isn't supposed to be anything else to her existence😕😆. Time and again the show reiterates that the basis of this story is a Radha who doesn't remember or recognize love and Krishna...so to expect that her perspective will match that of other ppl with romantic notions is a fallacy in some ways, no? The way I see it, the writers are trying to give her a character graph and evolve her SOCH. That is the crux of this show...if Radha and Krishna are already on the same page viewpoint-wise, what exact story is left here? lol that's the end of the show then, no? The whole world already knows them as legendary lovers...so what other point is left to prove? Instead what we have here is a journey of understanding love through a clash of perspectives b/w Radha and Krishna. I wish more ppl were able to understand that basic point.
I see so much outrage over how Radha is supposedly "anti-love"...lol but can anyone take a minute to pause and try to see this from the perspective of a girl who doesn't instantly revere Krishna as a divine all knowing being? A girl who has seen him lie outrageously over and over again, and try to trap others in his lies...why won't she feel prejudiced against him then? 😕
There is so much going on in every epi on so many levels, it can't possibly just be distilled down to "anti-love" Radha, for pete's sake. Radha currently happens to have a different worldview based on her experiences...she doesn't know a love beyond that of the ppl she's related to...here is a stranger walking in and spinning tales...why is she expected to automatically fall in line with his perspective?
Again and again, the characters run to Kanha and ask him why he isn't doing anything to help them...this is a metaphor for how we all plead with God to fix everything in our lives automatically through his magic without wanting to make the efforts ourselves...and that is why Kanha points out to Bhairav again that God only helps those who help themselves...when Bhairav's own love Sudevi lacks the courage to fight for their love, that is when their love loses...we see a girl facing tremendous pressure from society, her parents...so she falters...but at the end of the day, unless she finds the courage to stand up for herself, God can't help her.
In the precap as well, we see Balram asking Krishna why won't he help a Bhairav who is being lashed as punishment...and Kanha yet again reminds everyone that he isn't here to help lovers...he is here to explain the very definition of love. Every lash on Bhairav's body is felt by Kanha himself too...that is the Lord suffering on behalf of all humanity...that suffering is a part of love...and that is part of the lesson that mankind needs to learn too as they make their set of mistakes along this journey.
The whole point of the show is to understand that...that this is about TEACHING...about LEARNING. There are no instant happy results here. As long as one sees that the path is leading towards a point, I see that as good writing and execution.
