Undoubtedly Romil has been playing well, but even among the jodis the K sisters, Deepak and surbhi have stood out more than Romil. Yesterday his fans trended on twitter, romil game changer or something of that sort and I would be extremely grateful if someone could enlighten me on how he's a game changer???
Just coz he's a lawyer people by default assume he's smart and makes valid points, but he hasn't made any such path breaking points. Also in d akahda he couldn't put forward his arguments strongly, and this was supposedly his area of expertise. But he was excused for being nervous. And when he defeated Sree in d physical fight, ppl mocked Sree (btw I'm no fan of sree at all) saying Romil defeated him. Romil has auditioned for Roadies, twice, and I've seen auditions and physical tasks r very much part of them, so obviously Romil isn't some 3 piece lawyer who isn't involved in physical activities.
Also not only in the akhada, Romil could hardly defend himself when Surbhi went shit crazy about the shole smoking thing and it was Saurabh and Jasleen who were defending him and telling Surbhi he's taking her side only.
Even in the task it was Deepak who made a strategy and executed it well and won the task.
So, yes Romil is one of the better players, in this season, where most are playing horribly, but he's being overhypeda nd the game changer tag was way off the mark.
He knows how to handle people - case in point, Surbhi. She went loud and crazy with smoking and he knows it's useless to talk to her when she's hyper so he just stated his point and backed off. He didn't shout at her, because he knows her temperament and he didn't throw her under the bus like Deepak without knowing anything. He has scolded her lightly before when she's been wrong and she's accepted it. Why start a losing screaming match with Surbhi? And when he was trying to talk it out with Jasleen about captaincy, he maintained his stance and came across as "right", in my view anyway.
Well, he told Deepak to steal the other horse cap as well and supported him. It's more like he's appreciative of strategies and gets in the game. He thinks of the overall game and not just himself e.g. letting Surbhi have captainship knowing he would have reaped the benefits anyway.
In all fairness, Sree keeps saying he's an international cricketer and Romil doesn't look like he works out much. They're just mocking Sree really. Tbh, Romil's physique is an advantage.
Deepak and Surbhi are prominent but they get their fair share of hate. Romil gets disliked but not as much because he hasn't done anything to warrant that except his associations with them. Saba and Somi can come across loud and selfish, though I'm liking them more now.
So he comes across sensible, mature and genuine to me and. He doesn't come across as entitled (no "make me captain") and hasn't screamed at anyone. He was the first housemates I started liking. Someone who I actually rooted for and from being invisible to slowly becoming a threat to rest.
Maybe game-changer isn't the best word but he definitely shows a lot of potential and I don't think people were expecting it.
