The last promo was for marriage when Palak walks out from mandap.. thats like more than 3 weeks back.. why are they not even showing promos which they shot?

They could have atleast shown the same promo that aired for Sony UK, post marriage VP becoming villain.. that was already shot so whatever budget needed already spent.. they can show that in India also.. not airing promos for a month, is that even sensible from a channel?

the teaser that they release on SM on some days, I dont know if the same plays from say 6 or 7 PM during other show breaks, I dont watch Sony during other times so dont know about this.. fans on internet wait for daily teaser and know what to expect.. but what about getting new viewers, unless this show teaser or promo comes in middle of other shows..

For the short duration I watched KBC this year, I only saw promos for new show starting at 8:30 PM.. I never saw DHTH teaser saying coming up next.. if channel fails to market their show, what can PH's budget and actors do..

It was just bad luck I Guess it was launched at a wrong time ..ekta was more preoccupied with kasauti , home too many things

And also it should have been a webseries right from the beginning
Karan was hinting on that it's quite new not very loud

And dramatic so basically it needed drama from hotness factor which was not acceptable on tv

People switched off during kissing and consummation.

So targeting 2 different things

There was a chance it could have been moulded gotcha
And ekta had it in her to do it

Because nobody understands tv audience better than her

But somehow she lost interest

If the makers who will make money out of this project

Are not doing mathA pachhi on this

I feelwhy should I do free ka jhol jhal

I am happy to watch the remaining episodes just show me a happy ending

Adios .. all the best team

Its not just Ekta, she doesnt promote all shows with same enthusiasm.. I have seen her doing same for past few years..

Sony was reasonable till KBC launched but after that it was all downhill 😭
Putting this show on Sony was the main mistake, other channels promote for atleast 6 months before giving up..

So there are several factors, beginning with content strategy. Its a well known fact that Sony's primary revenue comes from reality TV (and similar content) ...spread across the year. Soaps are inserted into this strategy a lot like loss leaders - usually to maintain and retain a modicum of an audience as they shift from one phase of reality show (or something similar) to the other. Next comes, what to show relative to soaps. So they do a lot of consumer focus groups and quant research with several rounds of factor and cluster analysis and they come up with 5-6 sub-genre clusters of soap-like content (e.g., historical, women oriented, love, family etc etc), So they start evaluating scripts in order to check for fit to the content clusters. Next comes time-slot fit ...what to show to pitch against competition channels for a certain time slot (knowing fully well that soaps are loss leaders in their strategy) ...and then comes relationships. Producer relationships/ actor relationships etc with channel... deal making has a huge relationship factor - we all know that.

Given that they are continuously evaluating scripts and having producer conversations, if they find something not making money in a span of two-three months and find something else ready-to-go on air for the same time slot and has the potential to make atleast the same revenue but with lesser budget or make higher revenue with same budget, they will close doors to the incumbent serial.

So when we see that some other serial is not shown the door despite low TRPs, it's totally possible that one or more of the above factors are in that serial's favor.

For e.g., take a look at these top 10 shows of TV ... they fall in different sub-genre clusters of God/ religion, history, crime/ mystery, family, love and reality (reality music, reality GK). Therefore thought is that maybe, YUDBH fulfils their need for a love story at a lower budget and now if they have decided to show ladies special, it maybe because they want to fulfil something women oriented again at a lesser budget (just a hypothesis ... not sure because I am not sitting inside the Sony room :D)

very well explained. I think that is it.. they are not getting ROI from Dilhitohhai..we cannot compare the TRPs of shows generally since we need to see the input too. And moreover with DHTH the business model was slightly different where for the first time Balaji retained the ownership. I think this did not work well between PH and channel regarding investment and profit sharing
