Happiest of Birthdays Sharlsiekins. I wish the most amazing year ahead. Stay as absolutely sweet as you are.

I would have loved to have dedictated a PV story to you, but that was not on the cards. In any case, who can spin PV stories better than you.

Here is a story that I have been working on a while now, loosely based on the movie of the same name.

I hope you enjoy.

Much love and happy birthday❤️❤️

Aarti was sitting in the auditorium as the principle was doing his speech. Her eyes lingered on the two people a couple of rows down from her. She had a smile on her face as the beautiful young lady rested her head in the arm of the older but still very handsome man. They were constantly whispering in each other's ears and laughing. Clearly the apple of her father's eye.

It's been a while since she'd seen him. She knew he would be here and she was a bit surprised how seeing him again affected her. Apparently he would be staying in Bhopal for a while. It was good for the kids she supposed. They were at the final awards ceremony of the high school that her eldest two children were graduating from.

Soon she was distracted when she heard the name of her eldest being called. She was the proudest mother ever. The twins were the head girl and boy at their school, Ansh excelled at cricket and boxing and Palak at hockey and long distance running. And besides excelling in sport and captaining their respective teams, they were the top students as well. They were awarded so many plaques and trophies, they could hardly carry them.

Aarti, opened her arms as the twins rushed to her. Her eyes still red from all the tears she shed.

"I told you she would be crying said Ansh.

"Fine, I will buy you your chocolates. said Palak clearly losing a bet.

"I am not even going to be cross with you, I am so proud of my babies.

"Mom, we are not babies.

"You will always be my babies.

"Do I also get a hug they heard.

They turned and rushed into their fathers arms.

"Pops, when did you get in? Ansh said.

"Daddy Palak said just hugging him.

"This afternoon. I'm so proud of the two of you.

"Thanks. Pops. said Ansh,

Aarti looked at them, again smiling at the great relationship the kids had with their dad. He was such a good father despite not living with them.

"Hello Yash.

"Hello Aarti, how are you?

"Good and you?

"Extremely proud. he said looking at his eldest children.

"Hey, what about me.

The older two rolled their eyes. Their flamboyant younger sister would never be ignored.

"What about you? Said Aarti pinching her nose.

"Am I invisible? Payal wined.

They all burst out laughing, causing her to give them an unhappy pout. She always made her presence felt. Much like mother, Yash thought. She was still so beautiful. He had a chance to observe her while Payal was getting some refreshments. He knew she was still very active, but he did not expect her body to be in such a stunning condition. She looked much younger than her 36 years. She was wearing a white pants and a light blue shirt, with nude high heeled pumps and tear drop earring and three tiered pearl necklace. She looked very suave and sophisticated. Her beautiful hair was loose and she threw it back and laughed just as he remembered, and just like Payal does as well.

"Aartiji, congratulations on your childrens achievements. said a man that was a stranger to him.

"Oh, thank you Rajveerji. Your son also did very well.

"You look beautiful as usual. he continued.

"Rajveerji, this is their father, Yash Scindiya.

"Oh, Namaste Mr. Scindiya.

"Namaste Yash said.

"Pops, this Aditya's dad.

Yash, smiled at him. He could see that his attention was on Aarti and it disturbed him, strangely.

"Well I have to go now. Nice seeing you again Aartiji

"Yes you too, good bye.

"Ooh, mom he has the hots for you.

"Payal Yash Scindiya, how many times must I tell you not to talk such nonsense.

"And how many times must I tell you, that you are blind, Aarti Scindiya. He is totally smitten.

"Payal! Aarti admonished.

The other two just laughed.

"Daddy, see how they laugh at me.

"Yes, yes. Come now, I made reservations for supper. We need to go now. Yash said.

"Yes, let's go said Payal.

"Aarti would you like to join us.

"I'm fine, besides you made reservations for the 4 of you.

"They can make a plan. Please join us he insisted.

"Come on mom. We'll feel bad if you go home alone. said Palak.

"Please mommy said Payal fluttering her eyelashes making Aarti laugh.

"Really I am fine. You go.

"Aarti, it's a celebration of our children's achievements. Mostly attributed to your upbringing. It's only right that you should be there. Please Aarti.

"Ok, if you insist she said, but she really did not feel comfortable having to spend time with him after such a long time.

The dinner was at a very up market restaurant. She was not surprised that it was there, it was Payal's favourite. She normally got what she wanted as she was the baby and spoilt by everyone, including her siblings. Aarti was having a nice time in spite of her reservations. The children were animatedly talking, arguing and joking. She hadn't seen them interacting with their father since they were babies, though she knew they were very close. Despite them living here in Bhopal since their divorce 16 years ago and him in Mumbai, there was never a day that he did not call to speak to them. Even when he travelled abroad, which he did extensively, he called them. They spent 1 weekend a month with him and alternate festivals and a part of each school holiday. The arrangement for sporting events was that she attended home games and he attended most of the away games when he could.

She really admired him that he was still such a good father to them despite the divorce and the distance.

He tried to watch her undetected. She looked happy. She looked so good. These feelings he was feeling was totally unexpected. He felt as drawn to her as he was the first time he saw her when she as just 17 years old. She had taken part in hockey tournament. His younger sister Neelam took part in the same tournament and the whole family came to watch. She was the captain of her team and they won the tournament. He not only thought she was beautiful but he admired her skill and leadership on the field. He had known then that he wanted her and he went after her. But their relationship ended in disaster.

After dessert she made her excuses and went home. The children were staying with him in the house that he rented while he was in Bhopal. The house felt empty without them as usual. It was quite a strange evening. She had not thought that she would end up having supper with them. Or that she would have these familiar feelings re-awakened.

Flashback:

She was having an awesome time at the social after the hockey tournament, still on a high of being awarded player of the tournament and her team winning the event. She was dancing and backed into someone on the dance floor. She turned around to apologise to the person and as soon as she turned around she was grabbed around the waist and the song changed to a slow and romantic one. She was taken by surprise and as she looked up at the person she was immediately captured by his beautiful, intense gaze. He had the most amazing eyes. She knew she should have stopped him, but she did not have the willpower or inclination. And being in his arms felt sublime.

"Congratulations he whispered. The treble of his voice reaching to the core of her.

"For? She whispered.

"You deserved the award.

"It was a team effort.

"Your performance stood out from the rest by far.

"Thank you. she said and continued to sway in his arms.

The song ended and they still lingered. Not wanting to part.

"Want to step out for some fresh air?

"Ok.

"Aarti right?

She nodded.

"I am Yash. Yash Scindiaya.

She smiled.

"Please to meet you.

He looked at her a little strangely.

"Is anything wrong? She asked.

"No.

"So how long have you been playing hockey.

"Since I was about 8. You don't look like you go to high school. What are you doing here?

"My sister Neelam plays for the Mumbai International High School. I came to fetch her.

"Oh, where all the snobs are from.

"Am I a snob?

"You went there?

"Yes.

"You don't seem snobbish. But you are quite ... mmm... easy on the eye. she smiled.

"Well that's a first. Normally I am described as hot, sexy, handsome, a hunk. Need I go on?

She shrugged.

"You can, and please don't forget to add modest.

He laughed.

"Aarti! she heard behind them.

She turned around and saw Rajesh walking towards them.

"Why are you alone with this guy?

"Please, Raj, are you going to do the whole jealous boyfriend thing now? she was so over his fits of jealousy.

"Does he know that you have a boyfriend? Raj asked

"I have known him for 10 minutes, the subject never came up. Aarti replied.

Aarti was really getting tired of him. They were dating for about a year now and they were the "IT couple at school, but she was tiring of his drama. He was captain of the boy's hockey team and she thought he would understand her passion for the game, but he was becoming a drain and he demanded more of her time than she was willing to give.

"Well now you know, she has a boyfriend so leave her alone. he addressed Yash.

"She chose to come here with me and she decides whether she wants me to stay or go.

"Aarti, come. Raj demanded.

"I am not staying and I am not going with you, Raj. This is the final straw. It is over between us.

"Aarti, when can I see again? Yash said as she was walking away.

"Whenever you want to. she smiled at him ignoring Raj completely and walked away.

Yash, walked up to Raj and looked down at him. He was considerably taller the Raj.

"Raj, is it? Now I will tell you to leave her alone. She is mine. And if I find you anywhere near her, you will regret it. He walked away too.

He called her the next day and they agreed to meet. He stayed back after his parents went home.

"So you weren't lying about those descriptions of you. You seem to be a sought after bachelor, rich, famous and what not?

"So how did you find out who I am? Though, I was surprised that you didn't know who I was.

"I have no time for tabloids. My friends were too eager to tell me. They recognised you. So am I your next victim?

"Victim? I would rather call you my sweetheart.

"Mmm, that sounds so cheesy. Tell me do the others fall for it?

"I can't say. I don't normally have to resort to cheesiness. They normally just fall for me, without me even trying.

"I suppose I can believe that.

"Are you falling for me?

"Depends.

"On?

"Are you worth falling for?

"Until now I wasn't but something about you makes me want to be.

"Good, because I think I am falling for you.

"Great, because I think I am falling for you too. he said.

They spent a magical two weeks together. The Scindiya's had a home in Bhopal and he stayed there. She pretty much lied to her parents to be with him. They knew she practiced most of the time and she used that excuse. After 2 weeks he had to go home, and back to England to university. They were in touch every day. Three months later she told him of her discovery. All he said was

"I am coming home.

Yash had an all-out argument with his parents about his decision to marry her. But he was the only son and heir to the Scindiya millions, so the threat to cut himself off from the family was enough for them to reconsider and reluctantly accept her as his bride no matter her condition and the fact that she was from a middle class family.

He could see that she was distraught at disappointing her parents like this They were angry at her as they had high hopes of her making something of herself. Now she had disgraced them by a teenage pregnancy. The fact that she was marrying into a wealthy family was very little consolation to them. He had decided that he wanted her to be happy and he also wanted to assure her parents that she would be well taken care of.

Present:

But that was not to be. He lay looking at his brood around him. They were all having a chat in his room and had all fallen asleep in his bed. He would not get much sleep but he didn't mind. He loved having them with him. He never expected to be a father at 21 and a divorcee at 23. And living apart from his children was the worst. Luckily he had the finances to fly them and their nanny's between Bhopal and Mumbai as often as they wanted. And at least he could give them a good life. When it became apparent that she was not coming back home to him with the children, not even at the threat of not having a home as her parents refused to keep her there. She was so strong willed and stubborn, so he had no option to find a home for her in Bhopal. She was a stay at home mom since then and he provided well for her and the children. He knew she was a wonderful mother. The children were well adjusted and happy. They excelled at school and in sport. She was able to use her skill in hockey to good use and started assisting the hockey coaches at the children's schools. First at the junior school, then the high school. As per the children, she was the actual coach, but as she was volunteering only so could not be named head coach. And she did not want to be fulltime employed as she wanted to be there when her children needed her.

He was surprised that she looked so good. He knew she was always busy, running around for the kids. Helping with homework, parties, playdates etc. From the beginning she had a full time nanny, but she preferred to do as much as she could for them and with them, and to give all the children equal attention. Even when they were going through the divorce and when he didn't like her very much, he always admired her immensely as a person and a as a mother. He had sort of expected her hectic life to have taken its toll on her. But it seemed single parenthood agreed with her because she was sexier than he remember and he didn't like it. It was 16 years, he should not be having these thoughts about his ex-wife. Especially since he was in a relationship for almost 3 years. No, he only came to Bhopal as it was a very important time for the twins. He would just be there for his kids and nothing else.

He brought the kids home the next morning before school. He had never seen sweats look so good.

"Mom, did you go for a run without us.

"You weren't here, were you? Now go get ready for school. Breakfast is almost ready.

"Ok they started running upstairs to get done. Luckily they had already had a shower at their dad's otherwise there would have been an argument about that.

"Yash, are you staying for breakfast.

"If I may?

"You may, and I have to talk to you about something anyway.

"What?

"Can we go to the kitchen and talk? I need to finish the breakfast.

He followed her.

"What is it Aarti? he asked when she didn't say anything.

"I wanted to ask you something. Please feel free to say no.

"What is it and why would you think I would say no.

She looked really nervous. He had never seen her like this. She was always so sure of herself.

"I ... Well, since Palak is going to University in Mumbai and Ansh in the UK, I was wondering if you would allow me to find a house in Mumbai. I wouldn't ask, but if I am in Mumbai, at least I will have both the girls with me. Payal can still change schools. I have some savings, from the allowance you have given me, but it's just that the children are use to a certain kind of lifestyle and the money I have will not be enough for the kind of home that they are used to, so I was wondering if you could help me. As I said, you can so no.

He looked at her but that was not what he had expected. Her in Mumbai? So close? How would he handle it if he was already so confused? His mind was a jumble. He liked the idea, he liked it a little too much.
