| Salman Khan was at his wacky and witty, yet philosophical best last night at a jewellery show, to promote his movie Kyon Ki directed by Priyadarshan releasing this week.
"After a hilarious No Entry, I have once again taken a U-turn towards intense roles. But Kyon Ki is different from Tere Naam. Instead of me going to the mental asylum, the asylum comes to me," he quipped. Salman: Akshay is Priyan's favourite
When asked if he wished his film Kyon Ki (a remake of the Malayalam hit tragedy Thalavattam) to be one-up on rival hero Akshay Kumar's Garam Masala releasing on the same day, the actor chuckled, "Of course, I want my movie to fare very well. Only then, will Priyan sign me for more movies. Otherwise he will continue working only with his favourite mascot, Akshay Kumar." Priyan: Salman better than Mohanlal
Always under-rated as an actor when it came to film awards (Salman has never won any Best Actor award) the sinewy Khan was overwhelmed when director Priyadarshan stated on record that 'In Kyon Ki, Salman is better than Mohanlal in the original regional version.'
Reacting to the compliment Salman gushed, "I am shocked on getting such a lavish compliment. It's like an award for me from an eminent director like Priyadarshan."
Sallu's Diwali plans Salman has a message for his young fans, this Diwali "I would advise the janata not to go beyond the suthli bomb when it comes to explosive crackers.
Way back when I was into bursting crackers, I remember having burnt some of my hair." Speaking about his Diwali plans, the actor laughed, "My personal life has been loud enough, so I would prefer to observe a quiet, peaceful Diwali in Panvel." No plans for future
When asked about his plans for the future, Salman in a philosophical mood said, "Considering life is basically from nowhere to nowhere, one needs to break that word to now-here and focus on the present and make the most of it with a smile. Forget the past, have faith in the future, but hold on to your present," he sermonised. |
