Chapter 9 (chapter is long)
That night after putting her kids to sleep,Mahek paced her room. "If he has moved on then why is he keeping my photos hanging on the walls of his room? And he didn't even look in my eyes when he was saying he moved on! Liar Kahi ka! I'm coming to get my photos mr khanna! If you moved on then you don't need my pictures!'' She got into her denim and a shirt. Grabbing her jumper and her car keys she headed out. "I know I made a mistake! I broke his heart and I'm regretting for what I did! But that doesn't mean he will lie to me! I'm coming for you Shaurya!'' She drove to khanna Residence. It was past midnight when she rang the doorbell. Butler came rubbing his eyes and opened the door. "Bha..bhabi ji aap? At this hour?'' "Why do you call me your bhabi huh? I mean how am I your bhabi?'' She questioned him. Butler scratched his head sleepily and answered, "Because you are my bosses wife...he told me and showed me your picture when he moved to this house.'' Mahek smiled. "If I'm his wife then this house is mine too right?'' Butler nodded his head. Then I can come in and go out from this house anytime I want to right?'' Butler nodded his head again. "Then don't ask me what I'm doing here at this hour! Where is he?'' Confused butler moved away and let her in. "He's sleeping in his room. He was drinking too much today.'' Butler told her. Mahek left towards his room. Turning the doorknob she entered his room. Room was dark,only light in the room was from the moon which was peeking from the open window. Shaurya was fast asleep. "How handsome he looks even in his sleep.'' Thought Mahek. Quietly she handcuffed his hands to the head rail using his tie she had found in his closet. After nicely tying him down she turned the lights on. "What the hell!'' Shaurya opened his eyes when the lights hit them. He found Mahek standing there with a smile. "You? What you doing here? And why are my hands tied?'' He asked angrily. "Don't worry I won't rape you honeybuns! I'm here to take all my photos away with me.'' Mahek winked at him and took all her photos down one by one. "You can't do that Mahek!'' Swearing under his breath Shaurya tried to free himself. "Leave the photos or else I will not leave you!'' He threatened her. "These are my photos Shaurya! Why are you keeping these here when you moved on? Doesn't your girlfriend mind?'' Asked Mahek. "I managed to live without you because these pictures were with me..these are my life dammit! ..will you take my life away from me..?'' Asked Shaurya. Tears welled in Mahek's eyes and she looked away. "You didn't move on.'' Shaurya let out a deep breath. "No I didn't..'' Mahek blinked back her tears. Her heart was filled with love for him once again. "I have to leave right now...I can't see him hurting..I already did enough damage'' She thought. "Fine keep it Then! I'm going!'' She was heading towards the door when Shaurya faked a very bad cough. Mahek stopped and swiftly turned towards him. He pretended to be suffocating. "Shaurya! What's wrong? Kya huwa Tumey?'' She Ran to him and rubbed his chest. "My hands..'' he reminded her. "Sorry!'' She said and untied his hands. "I'll go get some help!'' Mahek was leaving when Shaurya grabbed her arm and pulled her on the bed. Mahek landed on his rock hard chest with a cry. Shaurya laughed. "Not so fast babe!'' "You fooled me didn't you?'' Mahek threw mini punches at him. He rolled over and trapped her under his hard frame. He pinned her hands above her head. She gazed back at him, her mouth open, gasping for air. Her shirt rose and fell with each panting breath. She realized he was without a shirt and only in his briefs. Mahek swallowed as she could feel his shaft rubbing on her abdomen. "Don't touch me if I'm nothing to you.. I'm telling you..let me go!'' She tried to wriggle free. "I'm already touching you babe..what will you do huh? Scream? Yell? What will you do?'' He pressed his body more on her,crushing her down. "I'll..I'll ..kick you! I'll scratch you! I'll bite you!'' Shaurya chuckled. "Bring it on sweetheart!'' He blew his hot breath on the hair strands that was caressing her cheeks. "Shaurya please main bol rahi Hun..jaane doh mujhey! (I'm telling you let me go). "How dare you handcuff me to a bed?'' To Mahek it sounded like "How dare you leave me Mahek?!'' He yelled, punctuating each word with a shake that rattled her brain. She didn't fight back. He had to get it out of his system, and she didn't blame him. She still struggled but could move only enough to get him excited. "I just needed my photos..I thought if you moved on then there's no need to keep my photos that's why I..'' she muttered. "I said I moved on and you believed it?'' He asked. "Anything could have happened in past 6 yrs Shaurya..but deep down in my heart I knew you didn't move on...just like me...'' Her eyes became glossy with tears. "Can you please forgive me and give me a chance? I promise I'll fix everything and make things right.'' She begged. "I can give you a chance but the thing is I can't trust you anymore Mahek...tomorrow you will leave me for some other family member of yours...I'm sorry I have endured a lot of pain and I can't take the risk again. I'm better off with one night stands.'' Tears welled in her eyes and she wanted to get away from there,from everyone! She bucked and twisted, but he held her down. "We can do this all night if you want, but you're going to listen to me this time!'' His voice was loud and firm. "I will cross your path daily..if need arises I will play your husband but you can never have me Mahek! I can never give you my love again!'' It was hurting him to say that but he had to tell her that. "Shaurya I have your chil..'' Mahek couldn't finish her sentence when her cellphone rang. Shaurya released her and rolled away. Mahek got out of the bed and drew out her phone from her denim pocket. The call was from home. She quickly answered it. "Hello!'' It was Ayaan on the other side. "Mommy where are you? It's Ahana again! She can't breathe mom! Please hurry!'' Cried Ayaan. "Oh no! I'm on my way baby just stay with your sister. I'm calling an ambulance right away!'' Mahek hung up and called for an ambulance. Shaurya couldn't understand what was happening. Mahek ran out of his room. "Mahek! Can you please tell me what's happening?'' He Ran after her. But Mahek was already getting in her car. Shaurya stopped at the door and thought whom she could have called her baby and she had also said stay with your sister. "Is there something that I don't know? Is Mahek hiding something from me?'' Confused Shaurya blabbered to himself. He wanted to call her but he didn't have her number. He couldn't sleep that entire night. That phone call Mahek took made him restless. "I hope everything's ok with you Mahek.''
"Thank God you are back mom! I was worried.'' Said Ayaan when Mahek stepped in the room. He was sitting beside his sister holding her tiny hands. "You acted very bravely today Ayaan. Your sister is breathing because of you.'' Mahek hugged him to her chest. Her little girl was sleeping with her oxygen mask on. "Will she be ok?'' Mahek asked the paramedics attending her little girl. "Yeah she will be fine,we'll keep her on oxygen until her breathing returns to normal. Get her checked tomorrow by a doctor.'' "I will do that first thing in the morning.'' Mahek told them. "Ayaan baba,go sleep now I'll stay here with your sister.'' She said to Ayaan. "Ok mommy!'' He kissed her goodnight and left but stopped halfway to the door. "By the way mom,where were you?'' "I was with your dad.'' Ayaan's face lit up. "Really? Dad's in town? Matlab we can meet him? And and he will be home soon.. and we can all live like a family under one roof! Yay!'' Ayaan danced around his mom. When Ahana heard about her daddy she took her oxygen mask off and jumped up the bed. "My daddy is back in town? Omg! I'm so happy!'' She danced in excitement. "Hey young lady! Put that mask back on!'' The paramedics told her. "I don't need it! I'm fine ..my daddy is my medication..he's back and I'm fine!'' Mahek hugged her little girl to her chest and gestured the paramedics to go as Ahana seemed fine. Ayaan also joined them on the bed. "Did you guys talk? Does he know about us? What did he say mom?'' Ayaan bombarded her with questions. Mahek didn't know what to tell them. "Tell na momma! Did you hug him? Did you touch his face and hands? Is he still the most handsome man of all?'' Ahana continued asking. "Tell us something Mom!'' Added Ayaan. Mahek buried both children in her chest as tears welled in her eyes. "Your dad is fine and still the most handsome man in the world..but he doesn't want me anymore for what I did to him. He doesn't trust me anymore...I was telling him about you two but he doesn't want to hear..I guess we have to live our lives without him..'' Mahek sobbed. Both children wiped her tears and comforted her. "Don't cry mommy..we can't see you in pain..everything will be all right I promise you..'' Said Ayaan. "Daddy must be also in pain..I just know.'' Said Ahana and held her head. "Hey Bhagwan! My both palents are in pain! What should I do?'' Sang Ahana. "It's not palents it's parents!'' Ayaan corrected her. "Han Wahi bhai!'' (That's what I meant). Ayaan tucked her in. "Now go to sleep little one,me and mommy need to sleep as well...we'll decide tomorrow what to do with dad.'' Bidding her good night Ayaan brought his mom to her room and tucked her in. "Sleep well mom and don't worry about anything ok? Main Hun na? I'll fix everything I promise! Papa and you are made for each other and I'll make sure you both are together soon.'' He assured her. "I love you mom!'' Finally Mahek smiled. "I love you too my baccha!'' Ayaan kissed her goodnight and left to sleep in his room.
Next day was Saturday. Ayaan was still sleeping but Ahana was up. She was pacing the hallway,thinking about her dad and dragging her doll by her hand at the same time. "Ayaan babu It's morning! Rise and shine!'' Mahek tickled him trying to get him up. "Oh momma! Its a Saturday please let me sleep!'' Frowning,Ayaan pulled his blanket up and covered his head. "Theek hai you sleep! I'm taking your sister to meet your daddy today!'' As soon as he heard that,he jumped out of bed and kissed his mothers cheeks. "This is the best surprise you have given me in 6 yrs mom! I'm so very happy! I'm gonna meet my dad today! Yay!'' Ayaan was all over the place just dancing and showing his mommy some of his moves. Mahek laughed hiding back her tears. "Did I hear it right? Am I meeting my sweet daddy today?'' Ahana Asked from the doorway. Mahek nodded her head and opened her arms for her little girl. Ahana's face lit up. "Yay! I'm at the top of the cloud!'' She sang and ran to her mommy,dragging her doll behind her. Ayaan shook his head unbelievably. "Silly,it's not on top of the cloud! It's on top of the world!'' He corrected her. "Oops!'' Ahana covered her mouth with her hand and giggled. Mahek laughed and hugged her baby girl to her chest. "Ok girls! I'm gonna have my shower and get dressed,I wanna look my very best today.'' Saying That Ayaan left to shower. "Mommy,bhai just called you a girl!'' Giggled Ahana. "I know..Come on baby girl I'll give you a shower today!'' Mahek took Ahana to her washroom. Once in the shower she asked Mahek what her dad likes in terms of sweets. "He doesn't like sweets that much but if his princess takes something for him I'm sure he'll definitely eat.'' Said Mahek. Little Ahana was very excited. Mahek dried her up and dressed her nicely. "I wanna look like a princess today! Daddy's princess you see!'' Mahek dressed her in a white fairy dress. She danced around the room spreading her arms wide. "When he'll look at me he'll be stunned and I'll blush!'' Sang Ahana. Mahek laughed at her baby girl and her antics. "Mommy! Can you help me bake some heart shaped cookies for my daddy? I want to give my heart to daddy today..he's my love you know.'' Ahana flashed her teeth and fluttered her eye lids. Mahek was smiling and at the same time she was blinking back her tears. Her children who never saw their dad loved him so much. "Of course sweetheart! We can bake some cookies for your dad.'' Ahana hugged her mommy. "Thanks mommy! Please give me breakfast first my stomach is making strange noises just like the rats in bhai's stomach.'' Both mother daughter laughed. "Just don't tell bhai I said that.'' "I will not.'' Mahek said to her and brought her kids downstairs to the kitchen. After breakfast,Mahek and her little girl baked some heart shaped cookies for Shaurya while Ayaan made some drawings for his dad. "He's gonna love these just wait and see mommy!'' Ahana told her mother excitedly. "I'm sure he will! Now hurry both of you! We'll see the doctor first then we'll go from there.'' Full of joy and laughter both kids hopped in the car and fastened their seatbelt.
In no time the trio were on route to the doctors office which was inside the mall. Mahek wanted to have Ahana checked first by her doctor before they left for khanna Residence. In side the doctors office the doctor examined little Ahana. "Her breathing is normal now. I'm giving you few inhalers,if her wheezing starts then use it. Otherwise she looks fine to me.'' Mahek thanked the doctor and came out of the office. "This mall has everything right Mom?'' Asked Ayaan. "Yes it has basically everything,playgrounds,swimming pools,hotels,restaurants and shops of all kinds.'' Answered Mahek. "We should come for swimming when daddy comes home.'' Added Ahana. "Sounds like a plan.'' Said Ayaan. Ahana nodded her head with a smile. They were walking around when Ahana saw a red heart shaped cute little pillow. "I will get that for my daddy!'' She told her mommy. "You have money Go with your brother and get it.'' Mahek waited outside the store while brother sister hopped inside to purchase the little red pillow. Ahana had saved some money and used it to buy the heart for her dad. Few minutes later both hopped out of the store to their mom. "Mommy can you buy me a chocolate milk please?'' Requested Ahana who seemed to be hungry all the time. Mahek took them to a coffee shop and placed her order. Suddenly the air had changed in that mall. The fine hairs on the back of Mahek's neck stood up. A chill went down her spine. She felt they were in danger. Her nostrils flared. Her mouth went dry. Her eyes watered from fear of her kids. There was a sound like a jar popping open. Mahek turned.The handle of the coffee cup slipped from her fingers. Her eyes followed its path to the floor. White ceramic shards bounced off the white tiles.There had been an eerie silence before, but now there was chaos. Screaming. Crying. People running, ducked down, hands covering their heads. Several Bullets were being fired. "Mommy!!'' Both kids screamed as they ran to their mom for safety. "It's ok..I'm here..I'm with you..don't panic just stay calm and do as I say.'' Saying that Mahek grabbed their hands and hurried to another shop and hid there. In the process of hiding, back of her head slammed into the window as shewas tackled to the ground. Someone had bumped into her while running to hide. Ahana felt the rush of air from her mother's mouth as the wind was knocked out of her. Mahek's vision blurred. "Mommy you ok?'' Ayaan shook her. Mahek could hear a cracking sound. She looked up. The glass above her had started to spiderweb. "I'm ok..just come with me fast!'' She hurried out of there with her children and took a shelter under a counter. "Are they gonna shoot us?'' Ahana had started to cry. Ayaan wrapped his arms around her sister protectively. "No ones gonna shoot at us! I'm here na? I'll protect us. I hope dad's watching us on tv and comes to our rescue.'' Ayaan's voice was brittle. Mahek gathered them in her arms. "He will come if he finds out we are trapped here.'' Mahek gave them hope. Little Ahana closed her eyes and joined her hands in prayer. "Dear God ji,please send my papa to us. Tell him his family needs him...please God ji..if you send my papa to us I'll miss one meal I promise.'' Mahek hugged her children to her chest and looked at the cctv cameras. "Hope he sees us.''
Meanwhile Shaurya paid a visit to Mahek's gallery. After last nights phone call he wanted to make sure she was ok. After all he cared about her and still loved her. "I'm here to see Mahek,is she around?'' He asked the salesgirl who was staring at the tv with widened eyes. "She's trapped in the mall with her children Ayaan and Ahana!'' She pointed towards the tv. Shaurya looked at the screen and was shocked. "She has kids? Where's the father of the children?'' He asked as his heart beat pounded in its rib cage. "Her husband ..what's his name..Han Shaurya Khanna is in London. They separated six years ago. When she moved to Goa she found out she was pregnant with his children.'' Shaurya felt the floor sweep away from under his feet. "My children? I'm a dad?'' The feeling was amazing. This was a shock to him as he wasn't expecting anything like this. He let out a deep breath and calmed himself down. Taking Mahek's number from the sales girl he called her. Mahek saw a unknown number flashing on the screen. She answered it quietly. "Hello...'' "Mahek...it's me.'' As soon as she heard his voice she broke down. "Shaurya...your family needs you...'' she cried. "Do they know me?'' His voice was brittle. "Yes they know you Shaurya..they know you from day one. I told them every thing about you..they love you Shaurya ..'' Shaurya squeezed his shut as tears rolled down his cheeks. "Stay right there! I'm coming for my family!'' Hanging up he hurried out of there. "Your dad is on the way'' Mahek told her children. "Yay! Finally we'll meet our daddy!'' Children were happy and very much excited. Meanwhile the terrorists were arrested and the mall was declared out of danger. People present there were evacuated one by one. "Mahek..!'' His sultry voice reached her ears and she came out from under the counter. Her kids hid behind her..Ahana was shy. "Are you okay?'' He asked. Mahek just nodded her head as tears made its way down her cheeks. "I just knew you would come.. and you came..'' Shaurya slowly walked towards her. "Do you have something to tell me?'' His eyes were once again glossy with tears. He just wanted to see his children. Mahek stepped away and there in-front of him stood his life! His own Flesh and blood! His children! "These are your two amazing kids,Ayaan and Ahana,they are twins. Ayaan was born first and then came Ahana.'' Mahek told him with tears. "And that's your dad!'' She told her kids. The moment he saw them a part of him walked out of his body and wrapped itself around them. And with them it will remain forever. "Daddy is so handsome and so cute too! I'm in love with him bhai!'' Ahana whispered to her brother who was lost in his dad and the way he dressed. "No wonder Mom fell for him!'' Ayaan said softly. Shaurya could not stop looking at his beautiful little girl and his brave little boy-he was SO proud! "I can't believe we both created them! They are so adorable!''He said to Mahek. Mahek laughed with tears. "Yes we did Shaurya! They are the fruits of our love..we made them together..'' Tears swam in Shaurya's eyes as he opened his arms for them. "Come here both of you!'' "Dad! Daddy! Papa!'' Both children screamed and ran. "Hey little man! Hey princess!'' They collided with their dad and the trio went down on the floor crying and laughing at the same time. Both kids landed on their daddy's rock hard chest. Shaurya kissed them all over their faces and children did the same. "Look at you two! You both look gorgeous!'' He told them between his hugs and kisses. "We dressed up for you daddy! Mom was bringing us to meet you after we were done here.'' Said Ahana. Shaurya looked at Mahek who was emotional after seeing their bonding. "I missed you dad!'' Ayaan said. "Your princess missed you more than anyone else!'' Ahana told him with a kiss. That moment took his pain away for sure. Shaurya was instantly captivated by his children. A hundred questions crowded in his mind. He wanted to know all about them. How they spent so many years without their dad,what they do,in which grade they are in,which school they go to,their likes and dislikes. The flood of curiosity puzzled him. He buried them in his chest. Oh what a happy feeling! After playing with them for a while he helped them up. "I'm sorry I was away from you or rather being kept away from you by your mother.'' He glared angrily at Mahek. "But I'm here now! I will spend as much time as I can with you both.'' Mahek knew he was mad at her but his anger was justified. Seeing her Shaurya as a father was the sweetest thing ever. He lifted his kids up in his arms and walked to Mahek. He asked the kids to cover their ears for a minute and they obeyed. "I'm taking my kids home,get in the car we have some serious talking to do!.'' He told her. "I have my car outside I can bring the kids with me...'' she mumbled. when Shaurya glared at her again she swallowed. "To hell with your car! Get in my bloody car now!'' He ordered and left with his children. Mahek made an ugly face at him like she used to. "Akdru kahi ka!'' grabbing her bag she hurried after them. Shaurya seated Ayaan and Ahana at the back and got behind the steering wheel. Mahek was getting in at the back when Ayaan stopped her. "No mommy not here! Your place is beside dad!'' Ahana flashed her missing teeth happily. "Yes mommy! Sit with my daddy please! I want to see you both sitting together and chatting like other couples do.! Papa,can you call mom to sit with you please? I think my mommy is shy of you'' Ahana said and blushed. "Come sit with me Mahek.'' Called Shaurya from the front. Mahek looked at her children who winked at her and gave her thumps up. Clamping her lips together to prevent a laughter,Mahek went and sat beside her beloved husband. "Thanks daddy!'' Little Ahana reached for her daddy and kissed his cheek. "You know you look more handsome with my mommy beside you!'' Shaurya glanced at Mahek who was smiling quietly. "And how does your mom look with me beside her?'' Ahana looked at Ayaan for help. "Help bhai! I forgot what to say!'' Ayaan spoke quickly. "She looks like a Queen and her..face lit's up and she becomes a shy away queen.'' Ahana finished for her brother and sighed. "Shy? She's not shy of me..or are you?'' He asked Mahek and turned her face towards him. "Prove it to me you are not shy miss sharma!'' He wanted an answer. "I'll prove it to you but not in front of our kids.'' She told him softly yet seductively. Shaurya chuckled. "I'll wait for it sweetheart!'' At the back. Kids were happy to see their parents talking normally. "He called her sweetheart.'' Ahana whispered in Ayaan's ears and both giggled. "One correction dad,she's not sharma anymore. The day you married her she became Mrs Khanna remember?!'' Ayaan reminded him. "Sorry..she is Mrs khanna.'' He muttered,unable to deny his kids. A soft laughter escaped Mahek's lips. "Our kids are on mission Shaurya,they won't sit quietly until they unite us.'' "I'll fix you well before that happens!'' He told her softly not wanting the kids to hear them. Before Mahek could say anything to him,Ahana cleared her throat. "By the way dad,do you have food at home? I think I'm hungry again.'' Shaurya looked at her little girl from the mirror. "So you are a big foody huh? like your mom!'' Ahana flashed her teeth. "Yes I am! But you know? I am also a non vegetable just like you!'' Shaurya and Mahek burst out laughing while little Ayaan suppressing his laughter corrected his sister. "Budhu! It's non vegetarian!'' "Oops!'' She covered her mouth with her little palm and giggled. When Shaurya glared at Mahek she quickly shut her mouth and looked away. Drive to khanna house was full of Ayaan and Ahana's conversation with their dad. Mahek felt so relaxed. A huge burden was lifted off her chest. She dozed off on the way. Shaurya stole glances of her while she slept. He wanted to kiss her so much for giving him two adorable kids but their kids were present there so he had to hold on for now and he needed answers before he could kiss her and thank her for such lovely kids.
Not long after,Shaurya parked his Lexus in front of his house. He helped the kids out of the car one by one. "Dad,don't wake my mom up...she went through so much in just one day..she needs to rest..'' Said Ayaan. "Daddy? Can you carry mommy to your room? Please? She can rest there while we play with you.'' Added Ahana. "I will do that,first you two come inside. A butler will attend to you,his name is Awara.'' Shaurya guided them to the front door. "Wow dad! You have a huge house!'' Said Ayaan. "And it's very beautiful too! I would like to explore your house daddy!'' Ahana hopped in as soon as the door opened. "From today,this house is yours as much as it is mine,okay? Whatever is mine is yours.'' He told them. Children smiled happily and hugged him. "We are so glad we found you dad! Please don't leave us..'' Shaurya kissed them both and ruffled their hairs. "I won't but your mom cannot be trusted again.'' He told them and ordered the butler to make delicious meal for them. "Feel free to take a tour of the house while Awara prepares food for you..I'll go get your mom.'' Shaurya left towards the door. "We will make you fall in love and trust our mom once again dad! That's our promise to you!'' Ayaan said and his sister agreed.
Mahek was still in deep slumber when Shaurya opened her side of the door. He stilled for a moment. She was stunning, really stunning. He lost all train of thought for a moment as he took her beauty in. He noticed She wore a flowing yellow dress that fluttered a little as the breeze entered the car. As he stared,he saw blood on the side of her head. Pain was now radiating from her head. She bit her lip in excruciating pain. "Mahek..wake up! You are hurt!'' Mahek feebly opened her eyes. "It's Just my head mostly. I bumped into a window. I'm afraid to touch. She gave a shaky laugh sleepily. "I'm kind of a chicken when it comes to blood. "Then don't touch it. I'll get you inside and take care of it for you. He told her. "Really? That's so sweet of you! Can I say you have forgiven me?'' Her words turned into a gasp when he stood and scooped her into his arms. "Not really! I'm doing this because you are the mother of my children! That's all.'' Replied Shaurya. Mahek pouted with a frown. "You know, I wasn't expecting you to carry me but it feels nice in your arms. She missed being held against his very strong chest with his arms hooked under her knees and her back. She felt breathless looking into his dark brown eyes. She gulped hard as he stared into her eyes while striding, oh so capably on the stairs and in to his room. He placed her on his bed. "I'll go get some warm water and a wash cloth.'' He left towards his washroom and was back in no time. His touch was easy and sent her pulse speeding as he washed her wound behind her ear. "Press this wet cloth on the wound and let the coolness of the rag seep in. I'm going to call for a doctor to have you checked. "Shaurya,where is Ayaan and Ahana?'' She asked. "They are eating downstairs. Don't worry they are in good hands. They want you to rest for now.'' He dialled his family doctor's number. Mahek relaxed on the bed. "I thought you wanted to talk.'' Mahek reminded him when he put his phone down. "Oh I will! I have questions that needs to be answered by you! So get well soon!'' Mahek shivered and couldn't talk anymore. "Oh God What if he takes my kids away from me as a punishment?'' Fear Of losing her children chilled her spine. Doctor arrived few minutes later and examined Mahek and took a blood sample. "I'm giving her pain medication,she should take them and rest for few days.'' Shaurya nodded and walked him to the door. "Dad,can you bring mom down and have lunch with us? She must be hungry.'' Said Ayaan as Shaurya was going up the stairs. "I'll do that.'' He smiled at the cutie pies and left towards his room. As soon as Shaurya stepped in the room,he found Mahek out of bed and ready to leave. He loomed over her. "Where do you think you are going?'' Mahek blinked to clear her blurred sight and managed to focus on his face. The first thing she saw was dark, dark eyes filled with concern. "I can't stay here and rest,I have a business to run.'' She told him and wanted to say some more but for some unknown reason air seemed trapped in her chest, and she didn't have the breath to speak. "I can't let you go..I mean you are hurt. And kids are waiting for you downstairs to eat.''
She knew he spoke to her again, but she remained still, gazing into his handsome face, feeling intrigued and captivated by the strange sensations going on inside her. Was it the intensity of his gaze that did confounding things to the rhythm of her heart, or was the fluttering caused by her injury? He reached down and shoved one arm beneath her back, and he hooked the other under her legs, lifting her from the floor. Her muscles flinched at his touch. She felt strength in his arms and the immediate warmth of his hard body pressed against her hip. His impressive, masculine power embraced her as if she weighed no more than a pumpkin. The scent of his cologne and expensive leather awakened something soft and feminine inside her and for a moment she had an intense desire to cuddle into the warmth of the strong arms that held her."You love to touch me don't you Shaurya?'' She scoffed. "Yeah and I love to throw you out of the window too! How's that?'' Mahek laughed. "Don't forget you have to answer our children afterwards Mr khanna!'' "Whatever!'' He said and carried her down to the dinning table where the kids were waiting. "There you are! Our beautiful mommy and daddy!'' Putting away her snack,Ahana clapped in excitement. Shaurya placed mahek on a chair beside him and called Awara to serve them lunch. "Are you two having fun? Did you explore your daddy's house?'' Mahek asked the kids. "It's super fun here mom! There's a big swimming pool inside and dad said he's gonna make a big play area for us once we move in with him.'' Ayaan told his mom. "Move in with him?'' Mahek shot a questionable look at Shaurya. "What have you been telling them Shaurya?'' Before Shaurya could answer,little Ahana intervened. "Oh nothing serious mom! Dad just wants us all to live together like a real family that's all.'' Ahana saved Shaurya's life,after all she was daddy's little girl. Shaurya smiled at his princess. Awara served delicious meal for them. "Ahana,can you say a quick thank you prayer for the food?'' Asked Mahek. "Of course mommy! Everyone close your eyes please and join your hands.'' Everyone obeyed. "Dear God ji,thank you for listening to my prayers and for bringing back my papa in my life. You know I love mommy too but papa I love him more. He's my life! So don't take him away from us otherwise I'll get sick. I know I know..I remember the promise I made to you. Just let me eat today,tomorrow I'll miss a meal pakka! Amen!'' Ahana's prayer ended. "I thought you were suppose to pray for the food!'' Said Ayaan. "Oh! I'm sorry I can't help it bhai! Daddy is all over my mind and I can't think of anything besides him.'' Mahek was just blinking back her tears. "You have given me such wonderful kids Mahek! Thank you! Shaurya also had tears in his eyes. "Come here you two!'' Ayaan and Ahana ran to their daddy. He seated them on his lap and kissed the crown of their heads. Kids ate from their daddy's plate. He fed them and vice versa. "Dad,momma ko bhi khilao na!''(feed mommy too) Said Ayaan. "Han daddy pleez!'' Insisted Ahana. Shaurya had no choice but to feed Mahek from his plate too. She bit his finger once it touched her lips. "Ouch!'' He shook his hand in pain. Mahek laughed. "What happened daddy?'' Asked Ahana. "Your mommy bites!'' Both children burst out laughing. "My mommy is naughty at times so get used to it daddy.'' Ayaan told him. Shaurya leaned and whispered in her ears. "I can bite too bhoolgayee Tum?(have you forgotten?) Iska badla toh main zaroor lunga!(I'll return you the favour soon) His words made her recall their first night together and the love bruises he left on her body. Mahek swallowed while Shaurya chuckled as if he read her mind. Lunch came to an end. "Daddy,I have something for you!'' Little Ahana Ran to grab her back pack. Awara cleared the table. MehRya went to the living room and sat on the sofa and waited for their children. Ayaan presented to his dad the drawings and poems he wrote for him. Shaurya went through them. "This is amazing! I love it! Thanks buddy! Come here give your dad a hug.'' Little Ayaan Ran and hugged his dad. Shaurya tickled him with his beard. "Dad...that tickles really bad!'' Chubby cheeks just laughed and laughed. "It's my turn now bhai! Can you move from my dad and sit on mommy's lap for a minute?'' Ordered little Ahana. "Ok moti!'' Ayaan Teased her and hopped on to her moms lap. "I'm moti but cute ok bhai?'' She told him strictly. "Yeah yeah I know..'' MehRya couldn't control their laughter at their cute little nok jhok. "What you got for me there bacchey?'' Asked Shaurya. Ahana produced a red heart shaped cute little pillow from her bag and handed it to him. "Mommy says,girls first love is their dad. The moment I saw you I fell in love with you daddy! So today I give you my red red heart..promise me you'll never break your little girls heart.'' Shaurya took the heart from her hand and touched it to his heart. "I promise I'll never break my little girls heart.'' Ahana forwarded her little chubby hand to him. "Kiss my hand daddy like you kissed my mommy's hand 6 yrs ago.'' Shaurya blinked back his tears. His kids were just extraordinary! He took her chubby hand and kissed it. Ahana giggled as his moustache tickled her skin. "And now kiss my forehead like you did to momma when you filled her maang with the red stuff.'' Shaurya looked at Mahek who was already shedding tears. "What have we created Mahek?'' Mahek laughed in-between her tears. "These kids are just incredible! Come here baby girl!'' Shaurya kissed her forehead and her entire face. Ahana just laughed and laughed. "Ruko dad! I just said my forehead...hehehe..stop dad it tickles!'' "Dad,What about a group hug and Awara bhaiya will take our pictures?'' Suggested Ayaan. "Of course why not? Awara bring my phone please!'' Awara came running with the phone. "Momma bear and papa bear will stand together at the back and We their cubs will stand in front of them.'' Decided Ayaan. "Daddy,can you put your arms around mommy so that she can feel she's loved and wanted by you?'' Said Ahana. MehRya did what their beautiful kids demanded. Their beautiful photo was taken by Awara. Later,over tea and snacks,Ahana gave her cookies to her dad. "Me and mommy baked it for you daddy!'' Shaurya took a bite. "Ummm..these are delicious! Thanks baby girl!'' Ahana flashed her missing teeth again. "You are welcome daddy!'' She leaned and whispered in his ears. "You forgot to thank your sweetheart.'' Shaurya turned towards Mahek. "Thank you sweetheart!'' Mahek who was munching choked on her cookie and started coughing. Shaurya gave her a glass of water. "You okay?'' "Yeah I'm Fine..I have to go Shaurya..there are some pending work which I have to finish today.'' "Leave the kids with me...you are hurt and then your work..how will you manage?'' He asked. "I have been managing everything alone for six years Shaurya,I can manage now!'' He grabbed her shoulder and pulled her to a nearby room away from the kids. "Managing alone huh? Who's fault was it Mahek? Was it mine that you had to take care of everything alone? Huh? Tell me dammit?'' Mahek held her head. "Han Han it was my fault? Everything was my fault Shaurya! Punish me na! Hit me! Kick me out! Get it out of your chest!'' Cried Mahek. Shaurya pulled her in his arms. "I want my six years back which I spent without my kids dammit! Return those years to me I'll forgive you and accept you. Can you do that?'' His fingers dug on her shoulders. "Ahh!...you are hurting me Shaurya.'' Shaurya quickly released her. "I can't return you those years Shaurya..and don't worry I won't force myself into your life. And I don't want anything from you so rest assured. I'll be around you because of our children. They love you to the moon and back. Meanwhile you can mock me,torture me and give me pain or whatever! I'll endure everything quietly just for our children's sake! But always Remember one thing l,I loved you then and I love you now. Nothing can change that. You will remain my one and only love and my husband...I'm going now..you can keep the children for the rest of the day but I want them home when I come back from work. Thanks for everything!'' She didn't let him speak and came out. "Ayaan and Ahana,mommy is going to work,you can stay here with your daddy for the rest of the day ..he'll drop you off later okay?'' Both children hugged their mommy good bye. "Be good both of you,I'll see you at dinner tonight.'' Kids waved at their mother as she left towards the door. "My driver will drop you off.'' Shaurya called from behind her. "It's ok my cab is on the way!'' Blinking back her tears she left. "Mommy,take care! Call dad if you need us,he'll bring us home!'' Ayaan howled from behind her. "I will baby!'' Waving to her children she disappeared out the door. Shaurya sat on the sofa with a thud.
Next chapter- Shaurya files a custody for his children. Mahek finds a solution to this problem. Ayaan and Ahana does everything in their control to bring their parents closer.
