Life in a Metro is always mentioned when anyone talks of Kanganas climb to the top. She wasn't introduced in a yashraj movie or a dharma movie. She climbed her way slowly and steadily with commendable performances even though the roles might have been one of five six leads.

All the more commendable because it was a good film too. Not masala and item song wala movies.

I don't think being a part of ensemble cast should be a problem.. Just look at Vicky.. he is the best example.. He chose his parts(even though small) wisely..
Raazi nd Sanju where he played side characters where the ones which made him more recognizable among audiences..
So small part or not.. Director and script should matter.. Rest aapka talent hai toh aap chamkoge..

Depends on what type of career Ishan is looking for. If he wants to be a solo star, this route isn't really feasible. Also Vicky needed those types of roles because he didn't really caught the public eye nor ever had any hit because he wasn't a popular guy before Raazi and Sanju. While Ishaan has just come out of a hit, is the Shahid ka bhai, he shouldn't get lost in a movie which will probably not be a big hit, and not give much for Ishan in terms of standing as a solo star.

To tell the truth, I never really saw Ishaan as much pre Dhadhak as I saw Vicky Kaushal. Honestly, I think Vicky was catapulted into limelight after Masaan,, much more than Ishaan has been after Dhadhak. Vicky was everywhere. Ishaan is not.

Both guys are low key. They're happy just doing good work than being clicked at parties or staring dead pan from magazine covers to be said to be in circulation.

Obviously, Vicky's path to stardom would be much more hard work than Ishaan for whom godfather KJo will either make movie or recommend. But right now I think Vicky has earned a lot more respect and dividends from Masaan than Ishaan has from glossy Dhadhak.
