What lessons can we learn from Alexander's life?
There are so many things to take away from reading about his life's story, his achievements, his conflicts, his failures, all of which are equally important, as was the special man himself.
I would like to share what I have personally learned:
- To be a great leader, you must have an open mind and open heart.
- You should never stop dreaming, never limit yourself to boundaries, never say never.
- Conquer your inner fears and before venturing out into the world to achieve your goals.
- There are no half measures when it comes to loyalty. Either you are or you aren't.
- It is important to assess every situation from multiple directions to make the right decision, but when caught unawares think of long-term gains rather than just focusing on short-term ones.
- Education and culture have a lasting impact on a person's philosophy and outlook on life; their importance must not be underestimated.
- You cannot flourish without hardship - the more battles you fight and struggles you overcome in life, the more experience and confidence you will have when facing even bigger hurdles.
- Speed is important in order to stay ahead of the game, but it is important to slow down at the right moments and pace yourself to avoid burnout.
- You should channel the fire burning within yourself, but you must also know how and when to wield it.
- It is as important to be able to define your criteria for success as it is to accept the cost at which it comes. You can either choose a long life of prosperity or a short life that leads to eternal glory but not both.
These words are entirely my own. Would love to read your thoughts on what, if anything, you have learned!
