This is probably one of Anushka's better interviews. She seemed more relaxed and didn't race off trying to make her point. Sweet of her to say that Varun is the most secure actor she has worked with -- I think I am not surprised, it shows in the way he is.

Yes all movies genres have certain caps with them...comparing an October to Judwaa and expecting the same is useless just like comparing NH10 to Judwaa/Houseful/TZH type films is a waste of time. To pretend that female leads make no contribution to their films is silly and has definitely been busted to be a myth. Salman crossed 300cr with all top heroines. Without them, he has lately struggled to reach even 200. There is so far no reason why there should be a massive difference between what contemporaries earn.

Alia can most certainly ask for a raise but it's more than obvious why she doesn't. and even Varun knows exactly why. He almost hinted at it at one point. Nowadays, you have to ask for everything. People don't give just like that...and like Anushka said, even Sonam had said the same a while ago..you can say no, but someone else will say yes and then you'll lose out.

BTW, it was interesting when Varun said top older stars like Madhuri know how to get what they deserve with dignity. Anupama/Anushka wanted to explore that further but he didn't. I think he meant that they get it without shouting from rooftops that they got it. 😆

Varun is a sweetheart!! I genuinely like him so much and he is so controversy free...His movie promotions as well, unless the movie is with Alia or under Kjo, they are not dreadful...he is so adorable and especially loved how he refused to attend interviews if Banita was not invited. <3
