After heavy dose of drama and emotional enlightenment through yesterday's episode, I realized that there's nothing wrong with Bepannaah.
Zoya and Aditya are again reacting differently to a same situation. Ain't that supposed to be like that? During the divorce fiasco also, Aditya and Zoya were at the same cross roads. Going through the same pain but venting out differently.
Same is happening now. Zoya's reaction is normal and very important in an aspect. Zoya was betrayed in Love and Marriage. This is what betrayal does to a person especially in a marriage. I have to again applaud for Jennifer for portraying it so beautifully. With minimum of point of view but maximum of expression, she made us realize her confusion and pain. Hurting oneself, denial, inability to take decision, not accepting the fact that they deserves love too; these are something people who have been hurt in relationships faces and sometimes they face it for life time often ruining their life.
Cheating & Betrayal in life/ marriage have life long but different consequences on different personality types. Aditya became emotionally more strong and resilient. Zoya, on the other hand did the worst with herself. On the surface she became strong but deep inside she was still the same sacred Zoya. She put on a facade, a coping mechanism. The worst a person can do to himself/ herself; pretending to be strong.
The third wheel has nothing to do with the story. He is not there to make Zoya realize her love for Aditya. He is there to show how a hurt person behaves especially in relationships. If you all notice then if a person goes through a break-up/ divorce, betrayal then majority cling on to the first person they find next irrespective of whether they love that person or not. They give up on finding love again or rather accepting the fact that they can love again. Arshad represents that bad mistake of life that people take to cope up with losses.
Zoya denied the truth from the start, put on rose colored glasses to see the situation, superficially coped up and now is back to square one when facing the truth again; She is in denial.
Zoya represents those who never recover from cheating & betrayal. They might look happy and successful but deep inside they are the same sacred person living under the fear that people will let them down again.
Bepannaah deserves more audience and is indeed a masterpiece depicting complex and complicated emotions.
Bepannaah is not about relationships, it's more of one's own conflicting and denied emotions, introspection of one's own reality, beliefs and perceptions.
There are many layers in every character, nothing is what it seems. We saw it with Anjana ( She is brilliant. Absolute delight ) She was cheated upon too. She accepted Harsh back but not without psychological repercussion. This is what cheating and betrayal does to a person. The mental trauma is always there. Her fear of loosing Aditya is valid. She accepted a toxic relation back, denied her own happiness and self respect for her son and family. She is the worst form of what heartbreak does to a person. Though her actions are not justified and acceptable but it's the truth.
The makers have done Ph.D in psychology and human behaviour. You need to savor Bepannaah. Showing such intrinsic emotions and behavior in half an hour and also as a commercial serial is not justified because you need time so that the understanding & depth can settle down.
The Cv's never cheated us anywhere and we need to understand what we are dealing with. We have been given what we signed for. This is Zoya and Aditya's story and we need to see it their POV.
Bepannaah needs to be in top 5. It is a work of value and admiration. It deserves a loyal fan base who supports their show. It has top notch acting and conception. But, those who are just looking for entertainment, Bepannaah will often disappoint them.
This series is so layered that I understand the episode a day after I watch it. 😆 Cause, after I put myself in Zoya, Aditya, Anjana.. I understand their perspective better.
C'mon people. We are mature audience. Our show not just deserves love & appreciation but also recognizance. Another top notch acting is in SBRK ( the series that comes after BP )
Harshad and Jennifer will go down in history with Bepannaah as their best performance. Harshad is phenomenal and Jennifer strikes the heart.
Though impatient at times, I am completely happy with Bepannaah and would rate 10000/100 for Harshad, Jennifer and concept.
And, yes it's not for people who always believe in happiness and lovey-dovey relations cause they won't relate with the show at all. But, if you all want a rollercoaster ride on emotion and reality, hop on!
