The Nun opens bigger than Raazi and Stree

The Nun has scored at the box office with collections of 7.75 crore nett apprx on day one. This is easily the highest number for a Hollywood horror film and the second highest number ever in India for a horror film after Raaz 3. This franchise has good brand value in India and all the films have returned good numbers. The opening day numbers of this franchise are as follows.

The Conjuring (2013) - 60,00,000

The Conjuring 2 (2016) - 5,36,00,000

Annabelle Creation (2017) - 4,61,00,000

The Nun (2018) - 7,75,00,000 apprx

The Nun has easily opened the best in the franchise but it was The Conjuring 2 which had emerged a blockbuster film a few years back with business of over 62 crore nett. The Conjuring had opened to just 60 lakhs nett but eventually went to 17.50 crore nett as it sustained very strongly over weeks.

Now Alia and Shraddha both should feel insulted that audience wants to watch an ugly ghost more than these two popular actresses.😆

The conjuring franchise has a brand value in India. The Nun has got not so good reviews from critics, but still should do well at box office if WOM is decent.
