Chapter 6




His words echoed in her ears. She was in daze nd thought as if her life is going to take a 360 degree turn. Those dark orbs were continuously gazing her. His cologne was blocking her nostrils. His heart beats were clearly audible to her. Finally she blinks her eyes after that one minute encounter nd lets out a gasp. All the while his gaze was fixed on to her. She intended to brush aside her exaggerated feelings. A manly voice has confessed love for her...breaking her belief that no one would fall for her. She found it extremely difficult to digest those words said by him. She panted heavily sensing his proximity nd moved her doe shaped eyes studying her surroundings. His twinkling eyes were intending to weave a new story for her. She starts sweating, her heart beats fastened, her lips trembled, her palms glued to the back wall, her knees weakens unable to withstand her body weight uplifted by the kernel of her emotions. She thought of being caged in a farcical situation but it was falsified by his intense love filled eyes. His looks seemed to be fathomless.He kept mum as he was awaiting her response but he could only receive her flabbergasted look. He leaned his head on to the wall already supported by his palms. His intense looks were never suppressed. A pseudo silence moment emerged. Where the only thing audible was their fastened heartbeats in sync. Few minutes passed just like that. The disappearing lights awakened the thought of their late night meeting. She quickly lowered her gaze planning an immediate escape from the situation. Mujhe jana hai..(I need to go)..she whispered gathering some strength to make way to her room nd moves quickly. Mehek...suno( listen)..he voiced. Without giving him a chance to complete his words she made it quick to leave the place. Mehek..Mehek...his voice lowers as her figure disappears in the darkness. He too made his way to the room with a confused smile. On reaching her room she made it quick to gulp some water to control her thoughts nd sat down on the couch. While Anki nd payal gave her a confused look. Kya hua (what happened) Mehek?..the duo questioned. Nothing...she replied plainly. Though the duo were not pleased with her reply they didn't bombarded her with further questions. Without much conversation the trio proceeds to sleep.

On reaching his room Shaurya found his buddies partying nd chit chatting while sipping their drinks. His glowing face didn't go unnoticed by Arjun, but he thought of delaying that conversation . After few minutes all dozed off except Shaurya who was busy pacing in the room. He was much confused about her reaction. Usne kuch bola nahi( she didn't say anything)..par aisa kyun (how come that's possible)...atleast haan ya naa toh keh deti(she should have said yes or no)...he blabbered while scratching his head. The window curtains flung in air as a cool breeze wanders nd he makes it quick shut the windows..but something caught up his attention. Yep there she's at this hour that too near the pool. He was bemused. Itni raat ko woh bhi itni sardi Mein...(late night that too amidst this cold weather)..kya kar rahi hai yeh..(what's she's doing)?...he said in his mind. He quickly grabbed a jacket nd shawl nd headed towards the pool. She was seated on a bench near the pool, shivering..but her mind nd thoughts wandered somewhere. He was very glad to see her at the same time was worried seeing her seated there ignoring her health. He occupied a seat near her. She was still lost in her thoughts nd didn't sense or realise his presence. He gently covered her with the shawl startling her. She was bit shocked nd gave him the same shocking look. Mehek just relax...itna ghabra kyun rahi ho ( why are you so scared)?..I just covered you with a Shawl...he said pacifying her. Still she was giving him that shocked nd surprised look without blinking her eyes. He snapped his fingers..thus breaking her trance nd said..Mehek..what happened ?..it's me Shaurya. She quickly shifts her gaze trying to avoid him. Kya Hua(what happened)?..tell me na..why you didn't sleep till now?...he sounded concerned. She still didn't respond. What's the matter my love?..he said while placing his palm onto hers. She moved her hands in a reflex nd looked at him with a pout. He was just taken aback by her response. He couldn't point out anything,nd thought for sometime to guess what's bothering her. He moved near her nd bends down to look at her face. Mehek...you are worried about my proposal..haan?...he asked her with atmost concern nd love. She just blinked her eyes .He was really hurt by her silence. Mehek...kuch toh bolo na..(tell something)...tum naraz ho mujse(you are angry at me)..you won't talk to me...he said with the same emotion. She nodded her head in a no. He took a sigh of relief seeing her response. Kya tum mujse pyar karti Ho (do you love me)?..he asked.she just looked at him without blinking her eyes. I know..I proposed you in a short span of time...but trust me I fell for you the very first day of our reunion. I can't sleep well...you're there in my dreams Mehek. You are like a deep ocean in which I wish to dive in nd explore more. Your beauty, your smile, your pout, your features, your voice..everything about you is driving me crazy. Aisa lagta hai Ki Mein sach Mein pagal ho jaunga..(for sure I'll go mad). Mujhe filmi lines nahi aata(I don't know filmi lines)..isliye meine apne tareeke se apne pyar ka izzhar kiya(that's why I proposed you in my own style)..am sorry If I hurt you... he said with heart filled emotions. She was more shocked nd surprised by his confession. He was getting annoyed with her silence. Meine koi gunah nahi Ki , jis Ki wajah se tum mujse baat tak nahi kar rahi ho (I haven't committed any crime for the sake of which am getting completely ignored)..he sounded annoyed.she was touched by his words. Mujhe..mujhe..mujhe kabhi pyar Hua nahi Shaurya...(I never experienced the feeling of love)... She said grabbing his attention. Aise nahi hai Ki Mai tumse naraz hoon ( It's not like that am angry with you)... I don't know how to react...she added as tears filled her eyes.He was taken aback by her innocent reply. Tears overflowed her cheeks hurting him more. No..no..don't cry Mehek...he said while gently wiping her tears. Mein tumhare aankhon Mein aasu nahi dekh sakta...( I can't see tears in your eyes)..he added. Proposal ke baad almost ladkiyan haan kehti hai ya na(after proposal most of the girls either give their response as yes or no)..haan hai toh muskurana aur sharmana(if it's yes..either they'd smile or feel shy)..naa hai toh ek thappad ya jute Ki maar (if it's no..the guy can expect a blow)...pehli baar ek aisi ladki ko dekh raha hoon Jo proposal ke baad ro rahi ho(first time ever am seeing a girl who's crying after hearing love confession)...he said with a chuckle intending to cheer up her mood. She was blinking her tears with a cute pout. Mera pehla experience hai na.. (this is my first experience)..she said while scrunching her nose. Haan wahi toh mera toh teyis saal ka experience hai na pyar karne mein.. ( yep.. You are right I've got 23 years of experience in love confession nd all right?)..he said teasingly. Mera Mazak mat udana Shaurya...(don't tease me haan)...she said while wiping her cheeks. Ok fine then tell me what's in your mind?..what do you think about me?..he said as intensity build up in his eyes. Tum ek ache insaan ho..mera acha dosth (you're a good human being nd a good friend of mine)...she said while shifting her gaze from those dark orbs. Mehek..idhar dekho(look here)..he said. Acha phir teekh hai( then fine)..am a good friend for you..for the time being..he said stressing the last words. She got startled by his statement. Mein toh tumpe fida hoon..(I'm already your admirer).. you're more than a friend to me. Tumne muje pyar ka ehsaas karaya (you've made me realize love)..tum meri mohabbat ho mehek (you're are my love)..pehli aur aakhri (first nd last)..my only love...he said as if he was pouring his heart out. She gulped saliva hearing his words . You can very well control your mind..but what about your heart Mehek?..he said. You are not unhappy with the proposal, you are not angry with me..what shall I conclude from these Mehek..is it a yes...he added. She blushed deep red...may be for the first time after the long proposal session..nd it didn't go unnoticed by him. I ..I don't know Shaurya.. She said trying to grab words. Acha teekh hai phir..mein intazar karoonga ( ok fine..I'll wait then)..he said while getting up. She was bit surprised by his reaction. Shaurya...woh.. she tried to speak but was interrupted by him. Abhi kuch mat bolo...raat bohut ho gayi hai..chalo so jao..(don't say anything now..it's too late now..go nd sleep)..he said while helping her to get up. He accompanied her till they reached her room . Kal ham sab wapis jaa rahe hai haina?( tomorrow we all are returning back right)...he said. Hmmm..she replied. Miss karogi mujhe(will you miss me?)...he asked her innocently. Hmmm...she replied again. Mein toh tumhe bahut miss karoonga (Iam gonna miss you badly)..he says nd then sighs.Silence emerged between them. He kept on admiring her while she fixed her gaze on the ground..her mind submerged in the ocean of thoughts. On nearing the room's door she turned back nd waved at him. Good night love...he replied with a warm smile. She quickly lowered her gaze. Waise...that Gulab jamun was so delicious... thank you ..he said in a sensuous tone while licking his lips. She blinked her eyes in embarassment nd swiftly locked the door. He chuckled seeing her antics nd returns back to his room. Both of them couldn't sleep as they were busy thinking about each other. Mehek was not able understand or digest the happenings while Shaurya was worried with her response. After few minutes the tiring events of the day pushed them into a peaceful sleep.

The heavy downpour disturbed everyone's sleep next day morning .The weather was not pleasing. He gently opens his eyes cherishing the previous night encounters. As he gets up he sees his buddy Raj packing up his stuffs. The view fading his smile. Reality hits him as he is reminded of his return journey. He gets up nd completes his packing after a shower. Before leaving the room he gives one final look at that window facing the pool side area. He picks up his jacket which was worn by her..still filled with her fragrance...he smells it closing his eyes nd rejoice the moment. Other side, the girl trio were busy packing their stuffs. The duo were chit chatting in between..but mehek remains mum.. as the hangover of previous night incidents still persists. She looked at her bracelet nd gently caressed the joined part nd a smile crept on her lips. Once done with the packing the trio starts leaving the room. Mehek turned back to have a final view of the window..nd she remembers the way he jumped in through the window that day..she smiles nd nods her head remembering his antics. All of them neared the lobby with their luggage. All were seated . Shaurya looked for her nd was lucky enough to catch her glance. They both smiled as their eyes met nd were lost. His eyes filled with love nd longing for the same while hers hypnotized by his words as well as filled with confusion. Guys..there is a problem... voiced Arjun breaking their trance. See... the weather is too bad today so all the chartered flights has been cancelled...he said. The smile on everyone's face vanished.. except for Shaurya who was very much elated with the news. If you're willing you all can stay back till then..else I can arrange for your train tickets then..added Arjun. I can't stay back...voiced Mehek startling everyone. Shaurya made a puppy face then. Ok Mehek then will book your tickets...said Arjun. Rest of them were ready to stay back. Shaurya was hell worried and confused now. Well it"ll be 11 hours journey Mehek..no express trains available...departure scheduled by 7pm...you're ok with it..said Arjun while browsing the railway portal. Ok fine..she replied. Arjun..mera bhi ticket book karva de( plz book my tickets too)...said Shaurya while all gave him a surprised look. Arjun lifted his brows in amuse...Shaurya you that too in train..he said. Hmm..why you all are giving me that look haan?..mujhe bhi ghar Jane Ki badi jaldi hai..(me too wants to go back home soon)...Shaurya replied covering. His intentions were clearly evident to her..so she looked here n there as if pretending to be thinking something else. Arjun looked at both Mehek nd Shaurya..nd gave a confused look to Shaurya with a naughty smile. Acha don't stress yourself..I'll book the tickets..said Shaurya while grabbing the Laptop from his hands. Yeh chal kya raha hai janab( what's happening gentleman)?..asked Arjun controlling his laughter.na.na..nothing said Shaurya while covering up...I need to reach home fast..that's why am relying on train..that's it..added Shaurya giving a deathly glare to Arjun. Acha baba...I got it...you're in a hurry to reach home..that's your only motive..right said Arjun stressing the last words. Shaurya rubbed his nose nd tried to ignore further conversation. Till evening all were busy chit chatting nd visualizing the beauty of the resort . Shaurya nd Mehek missed to see each other all day. At evening everyone gathered in the lobby to bid bye to mehek nd Shaurya. After a long parting session with hugs nd talks..they proceeded to leave. Meanwhile Arjun captured their final day memories in a selfie. Shaurya looked up for chotu bhaiyya..both of them met and embraced themselves . Next time do visit us for your honeymoon ..whispered chotu bhaiyya while patting his shoulders while he chuckled hearing that. Finally Mehek nd Shaurya left the resort marking the closure of their very first school reunion. Bidding bye to the epitome of nature's playground..Shaheen bagh. With a handful of memories starting from the first day, their first meeting, their talks, the unforgettable bike ride, the lovely rains nd their hut stay..and something that neither of them would forget..his confession. All the memories did somersaults in their minds. They descended the slopes of Shaheen bagh..starting a new phase of their life..where one is completely loving it while the other one is completely confused about it. After few hours of journey in the cab filled with silence...they finally reached the railway station.
