He protects his mom to lol. We all have different relationship each has their place like mom, dad, brother, sister, gf/bf, bff.
He has this softness for ishika, feelings for her and I loved how he don't take crap from her nor disrespect her. Each relationship has different level I agree on this.

correct. just bc he protected palak does not mean he has romantic feelings for her. she is his BFF he knows her from childhood who was wrong today and he saved her thank god for that.

as for rooshika they have different kind of feelings...romantic hate affection attraction from roop side😉
