CHAPTER 6: Memorable Morning

This is in Narrator's POV.

Morning at 9:00 am

"Aah" Neil, "ooh" Avni screeched as she clutched onto her belly.

Avni what happened? Neil asked being concerned

Neil please call bebe or mummy ji, aah I feel something in my belly, I am scared Avni complained.

Oh god Avni maine tume kitni baar kaha hai apna khyaal rakha karo; poha mat kaho saara din, dekho kya hogaya.

Neil please apna lecture mujhe baad main dena phele bebe aur mummy ji ko bulao please. Avni yelled loosing her cool.

Ok! haan, pehle tum bed par chalo, Neil helped her sit on the bed comfortably and ran to call bebe and mummy ji.

Soon both entered the room worriedly along with Neil and Prakash also equally worried.

Avni putter what happened, Bebe asked in a concerned voice.

Bebe I don't know; I feel something in my belly, I don't know, I am scared what if something has happened to the baby. Avni cried as she was also equally scared.

Should I call the doctor, Prakash suggested.

Wait a minute, Khanna sahib, no need. Shweta said excitedly

Mom, why are you smiling, Neil asked

Theek he toh bol rahi hain madam madonna.

Avni puttar that "something you feel in your belly" is actually your baby kicking. Kuch nahi hua puttar. Be happy, your baby has kicked for the first time; Bebe said excitedly.

Avni was so shocked, and the tears brimmed in her eyes for two reasons, firstly her baby is completely fine and secondly it has kicked for the first time. She was probably truly the most happiest person along with Neil who also sighed a relief when he heard Bebe.

Neil went up to Avni whom he saw so happy, "Oh god Avni tumne toh muje dara he diya tha. dekho kuch nahi hua hamare baby ko, he said while kissing her on the forehead.

Hm, hm *coughs* bebe acts to bring them both to attention.

Oops sorry bebe, Neil said cheekly

Bebe abh na hum chalte hain inko thora romance karlene dete hain, Shweta said teasingly.

Mom!

Yes bebe lets go, Prakash agreeing with shweta

Soon everyone left leaving Neil and Avni alone

Neil why do you do this all the time?

Main apni wifey se nahi toh kise romance karunga bolo?

Arrey wifey, ek kiss he toh ki thi Avni,

Arrey, I was so excited that our baby has kicked for the first and because of Bebe and mom, I couldnt even feel our baby kicking.

Dont do it next time please. Okay? I cant handle them teasing me. Avni said while pointing at Neil in anger.

Uff itna gussa kyun horahi ho. Neil said dramatically.

I will try not to do it again but I cant promise anything Neil added after receiving an angry glare from Avni.

Ab jao tume police station nahi janna hai kya?

Tum chaho toh main yahi pe bhi reh sakta hoon.

No Neil, iski koi jaroorat nahi hai

Uff Avni tum kini unromantic ho, here I am trying to be romantic and you are spoiling it by sending me to work.

Stop it Neil, ab jao bhi, tang mat karo muje.

Vaise main soch raha hoon ki main aaj police-station nahi jata; before he could continue Avni interrupted him

Well its a happy beautiful day, and I was thinking of taking you out on a romantic date, Mrs. Khanna.

Ab isme bhi kyun; husband hoon tumhara kahin lekar nahi jaa sakta kya main tumhe. Our baby has kicked for the first time; so celebration toh banta hai na.

But I cant go right now; I have to go to Neela ma's house Avni replied who was getting ready to go.

Tumhe aaj jana zarorri hai kya? Neil asked hugging her from behind with his chin on her shoulder.

Neil choro mujhe Avni getting out of his grip and continued and Yes I promised ma that I will spend some time with her and also I will meet Aman too. So tum police station jao; ye date vate sab cancel karo.

Kya yaar Avni; tum meri saari mehnat spoil kar rahi ho Neil whined.

Realizing Neil's sad face; Avni came up with an idea, vaise tum chaho toh hum sham ko ja sakte, I will come early from ma's house Avni proposed putting her hands around Neil's neck.

Hmm not bad wifey; Neil brought her closer by grabbing her waist. Lagta hain tum bhi kaafi excited ho.

Neil!! Tang mat karo na; bolo tumhe jana hai ki nahi Avni gave him light push to get out of his grip.

Kya yaar Avni, jab dekho romance he spoil karti rehti ho, yeah I will take you out on a date in a Neil khanna style ok. Be ready.

Okay Mr. Khanna

Okay Avni I will get ready quickly I will drop you to Neela ma's house.

Uski koi zaroorat nahi hai; Ali is coming to pick me up so tum seedha police station jao.

I will drop you there tum use mana kardo Neil suggested.

No Neil its fine, vaise bhi main Ali se kitne din hogaye baat bhi nahi ki or use mili bhi nahi. Isi tareeke main uske saath thora time spend karlungi.

Tume har kisi ke saath time spend karna hai; just not with your husband. Kabhie Ali, Aman or kabhie Neela ma; Neil said feigning anger.

Before Avni could say something; she heard Ali calling her from downstairs.

Okay Neil main ja rahi hoon Ali aa gaya. I will meet you in the evening; fir hum bahar chale jayenge. Avni said while grabbing her bag and essentials.

Haan Haan jao; meri toh koi fikar he nahi hai tumhe, Neil said signing her to go.

Neil!

Kya hai?

Acha toh mere pati mujse naraaz hai, Avni said while giggling.

Main kyun tumse naaraz hoonga; tum jao aur enjoy karo ok. Neil said smiling and leaving his act of anger.

Thank you Neil for understanding Avni said hugging him. Thats why I love you so much, Avni said while her head was still buried in Neil's chest.

I love you too wifey; Neil said kissing her forehead.

Can I go now?

No!

I love you Neil with that she kissed him on his cheeks and left laughing.

Avniii! Neil rub his fingers through his perfect hair while smiling.
