I think the problem is with the title of the show ! it does sound like 'yeah , it's a love story' but in actual its more than that. I feel the makers should have named the show something else which would do justice to the story/plot ! mainly , the show revolves around Sid no doubt but i agree that the makers somehow balance the other characters too.
I do love Anushka, she has flaws and its okay. No one is perfect. She do understand Sid until he doesn't behave in an inconsistent way with her.

I think the title is apt - in the sense that it means no matter what, they still get over the roadblocks and still love each other. And what bigger hurdle can there be than the girl's father killing the boy's father?
Still that will not come in the way of their love...so it is a love story but not the typical romance , sweet, kind...
