Sairat vs Dhadak- Which was a better movie?

Though it's yet to see whether Dhadak will be able to match up to Sairat box office wise, but it doesn't make the film a less loved one. I mean, a film being made with two newcomers based on a regional film without the usual Dharma lip sync song sequences, having three slow numbers and a slow paced second half earning 51 Cr in it's first weekend is no mean feat. I mean the opening numbers on Day 1 can come because of Shahid Kapoor's brother or Sridevi's daughter but the jump after that can only happen if the film in totality is loved. The makers and the kids must have done something good for the audience to spend money and watch the film on the big screen when pirated versions are already out. Also 'atleast a hit film' means what? Isn't that actually the barometer of measuring acceptance with the audience? I mean the film is nearing the litime collections of films like Pari,Hichki,Jagga Jasoos and October starring bonafide established actors. What else is needed for the film to be accepted?

Also, unlike box office results, there's no data available about how many people are actually going back to watching Sairat online after Dhadak and whether it has given more popularity to Sairat in the non Marathi speaking belt. Provided that the english subtitled version of Sairat is only available on Netflix and the Indian audiences habit of preffering dubbed content over subtitled, it is less likely that they are going to pay Rs.500 online just to watch an english subtitled Sairat on a site like Netflix. Unless your soucre of information is IF and social media which does not constitute the large movie going public in India. Probably the reason why Dhadak still got accepted and earned this much despite all the comparisons and brickbats wrt Sairat which made Dhadak look like a blasphemous attempt at remaking films when this is not the first film to be have been officially adapted in Bollywood with all rights in place.

Its not really fair to compare.

Sairat had kids .. Rinku was 14 and both the actors were not under pressure and the outcome was excellent

Janhvi and ishaan were under too much pressure and constant scrutiny .Janhvi atleast.

Janhvi definitely is not a shitty actor nor is dhadak a shitty movie
