Day 42 Box Office Dhurandhar breaks every rule as Prabhas’ The Raja Saab faces rejection
Day 42 finds Dhurandhar still collecting above Rs 2 crore, a phase where even massive blockbusters from the past usually slip into negligible territory. What is unfolding now is not momentum. It is endurance.

Some box office runs fade quietly after the first few weeks. Others slow down, hang around, and then disappear. Dhurandhar has done neither. Even after six full weeks in theatres, the film continues to pull in numbers that most releases would celebrate on their opening day.
Day 42 finds the film still collecting above Rs 2 crore, a phase where even massive blockbusters from the past usually slip into negligible territory. What is unfolding now is not momentum. It is endurance.
A Sixth Week That Refuses To Behave Normally
The last stretch of Dhurandhar’s theatrical run has broken every familiar pattern. Monday and Tuesday delivered collections close to Rs 2 crore each, already rare for a film this deep into its run. Wednesday pushed things further, helped by a partial Makar Sankranti holiday, with earnings climbing to roughly Rs 3 crore.
To put that number in perspective, Rs 3 crore is often seen as a decent opening day for mid scale films. Dhurandhar managed it in its sixth week. This consistency has kept trade expectations alive far beyond initial projections, and the film now looks set to comfortably reach the 50 day mark in cinemas.
The Numbers That Separate It From The Rest
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKOVzHcjEIo&t=1sAccording to Sacnilk, the film’s net collection currently stands at around Rs 813 crore, while the makers peg the total closer to Rs 863 crore. Either figure places the film in a territory that few releases ever touch. More importantly, both numbers underline how difficult such a run would be to replicate.
Until Day 40, the India Gross stood at Rs 972.5 crore. Overseas markets contributed Rs 293 crore, taking the worldwide total to Rs 1,265.5 crore. With collections still flowing steadily, the Rs 900 crore mark in domestic terms no longer feels distant. At this stage, Dhurandhar has already rewritten benchmarks rather than chasing them.
Entering The Elite Club And Climbing Higher
Dhurandhar has now secured its place in the 1000 crore club, becoming one of the rare Indian films to cross that milestone. In the process, it has edged past RRR to enter the Top 5 all time earners. So far, only nine Indian films have crossed the Rs 1,000 crore worldwide mark.
Among these, four are Hindi originals, four belong to Telugu cinema, and one comes from Kannada cinema in the form of KGF 2. Dhurandhar’s presence in this group signals a shift in how long theatrical legs are now valued, not just explosive openings.
Dominating Day 41 Across Hindi Cinema
Even on Day 41, Dhurandhar topped the daily earnings chart among Hindi films. After collecting Rs 3 crore, it finished well ahead of its competitors. Ranveer Singh’s spy thriller earned nearly double the amount collected by the previous leader Pushpa The Rise, which brought in Rs 1.55 crore on the same day.
Chhaava followed with Rs 1.3 crore, carrying an India Hindi Net of Rs 585.7 crore and a worldwide total of Rs 807.91 crore. Stree 2 was close behind at Rs 1.25 crore on Day 41, with an India Hindi Net of Rs 597.99 crore and worldwide earnings of Rs 857.15 crore. Pushpa 2 earned Rs 1.22 crore, supported by massive cumulative figures of Rs 812.14 crore India Hindi Net and Rs 1,742.1 crore worldwide.
A Stark Contrast With The Raja Saab’s Fall
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wT4HcYAeV5U&t=2sWhile Dhurandhar continues its remarkable run, The Raja Saab presents a completely different picture. Prabhas’ latest release opened strong with Rs 53.75 crore on Day 1, driven largely by the Telugu version and fan driven footfalls.
The drop was immediate and severe. Each passing day saw lower collections, and the crucial Monday test proved disastrous with earnings slipping to around Rs 6.6 crore. Even a partial holiday on Wednesday could only lift the film to Rs 5.25 crore. With no signs of recovery, The Raja Saab now appears headed toward one of the weakest box office outcomes of Prabhas’ post Baahubali phase.
Poll
Do you think Dhurandhar will cross the Rs 900 crore mark?
Dhurandhar is still roaring on Day 42, pulling crowds and crores when most films vanish from theatres. With Rs 2 to 3 crore daily numbers and a march toward Rs 900 crore, the film has crushed every rule of box office longevity. Meanwhile, Prabhas’ The Raja Saab collapses after a big opening, sliding into shocking lows that few saw coming now.
