Thanks to all my readers for continuing to read and encourage my writings with their wonderful comments and analyses.😃😳
I have been asked by many to write a Bengal/Kolkata-based story again.
I have two plots in my head and just cant decide which one to write.😭
So I leave it to my readers to decide which one they want to read first, which one I should write first.
Please choose from these two plotlines:
1) Loosely based on and inspired by the famous and controversial Bengali novel "Kabuliwalar Bangali Bou" which is a real-life story of such a couple.
Kripa Mukherjee is a girl from a traditional Brahmin family, living in Shyambazar. Shes a classically trained singer and teaches music in a school in North Kolkata.
Zaib Khan is an Afghan national who comes to India for 6 months every year to sell his products and invest his money in small loans. Hes a Kabuliwala in popular Bengali terms.
They meet......and the inevitable happens. They belong to different countries, different religions, vastly different cultures.....will their families accept their love? What happens to them??
I wont follow the original novel completely.....no politics, just the basic facts.😳
*************************************************
2) Kripa Basu belongs to a modern upper-middle class family. She lives in a Bhowanipore flat with her parents, sister Mishti and brother Kartik. Shes a talented singer/dancer, having completed her training from Dakshinee. She runs her own dance and music school in Tollygunge.
Angad Khanna is the son of rich Industrialist Dilip Khanna, who also owns the Sur music label and Recording studios in Tollygunge. Khanna Industries owns the building where Kripa teaches her students.
They meet, he wants the building back to expand his studio....she refuses. Fireworks begin! 😉😃
Earnest request to all my friends/readers....please choose one of these....I will write that one first and then the other one next! 😃
