Theatre owners cancelling early morning shows of Salman Khan's Race 3, claims trade analyst
While Salman Khan-starrer Race 3 is doing reasonably well at the box-office having earned Rs 132 crore in its five-day run, film trade analyst Sumit Kadel has predicted a not-so-bright future for the Remo D'Souza-directed action thriller film.

In an exclusive conversation with us, Sumit said that the film has now "completely crashed adding that the chances of it picking up pace from this point onwards are bleak.
"Race 3 was running at 4600 screens when it opened on Friday. But now, owing to the disastrous word of mouth, the screens have come down to 3700-3800. Today itself, early morning shows of the film got cancelled in some circuits. The shows which did run registered an occupancy of 10-12 per cent, said Sumit.
According to Sumit, if it was not for the Eid holiday, Race 3 would have lost out on business of at least Rs 40 crore. Predicting the second-weekend figures of the film, he said, "The film will do not more than Rs 15 crore in its second weekend. As for the lifetime collection of the film, he said, "It will not go beyond Rs 170 crore by the end of its box-office run.
Besides Salman Khan, Race 3 casts Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem in the lead roles. The third installment in the Race series, Race 3 hit the screens on June 15 to mostly negative reviews. It is a joint production venture between Salman Khan Films and Tips Films.
