i watch old episodes of rlhn ad ppk in sonyliv almost every day since past 3 months my 4 and half yr old son son was also watching with me .
his favorite episode is diya ..small ratan marriage..

he watches it almost once in 2 days.

yesterday he asked me i want to marry a gal like diya

i was like

i thought about a while and said .as u know small ratan parents died (he knows it) so they got small ratan married to diya but u r parents r alive .
so no need to marry now. we will get u married after u become big like BIG RATAN( he sees rlhn also)

he is convinced ..but he says i want to marry big and strong gal like diya ( he saw in rlhn diya desert fight .he lieks it very much that scene where diya with her legs hits pistol in ratan hand and takes away from him .tahts his favorite scene.he watches it every day)

i finally said ok after u become big if u want to marry an elder gal i will get u married ..no problem

finally he is satisfied😆

but in his mind like in small ratan mind ( marrying a princess) is fixed i doubt in his mind marrying an elder gal is fixed

any way since i have no prob with age i am least worried since he is intelligent i can certainly tell he will get setled early in life.if he wants to marry at 22 i would be the happiest person😊 and baout gal age i dont care if she is older by 10 yrs 😊

btw my son is very inteligent like he solves 100 piece floor puzzles now itself .many boys of his age have diffficulty even with 10 piece puzzles. in his school teachers syllabus is 4 piece puzzles.

Thanks varuni to share nice story about your son. Give him my hug.
I do not want to give any reason but I'm happy that PPL closed for a good reason.

Awww... such a sweet boy he is mashaAllah.. 😃
Your post brought a smile on my face. I am soo glad that you are not a stereotypical mother like most desi moms are... Marrying their son off to a younger girl is a stigma of our Indo-Pak-Bangladesh desi society only.
Recently Prince Harry married Meghan Markle who is older than him too.. (Sorry.. Actually the British Royals fascinate me very much and i keep an eye on them...and abhi tou Prince Harry's wedding was all over the news...hence the fascination is doubled!😆😆)
Trust me, this age related thing is just a cultural stigma...or marrying off to a widow or a divorcee. Otherwise I dont think any religion has ever said anything against it too..
In Islam, our Prophet Muhammad's first wife Khadija was 45 and a widow when she herself sent her marriage proposal to Him...and He was 25 and bachelor at that time! He loved and respected her throughout His life...even after her death...and till His own last breath. He had children with her too.
He peace be upon Him later married a woman of 80 years old, Souda, just for the sake of protecting her. Prophet Muhammad 's other wives were either divorcees or widows or those who were in some trouble. Regardless of common belief that marriage is ONLY for physcial pleasure and to attain children, Prophet's marriages were to protect women and give them social security and respect in the Arab culture of those days. And He didnt have any children with any other of His wife also, by the will of God.. He always maitained equality amongst His wives..
So age related issues, marrying our sons to divorcee or widows is a social stigma...that has delved into our roots, having no particular significance in our religions or in our religious histories.
I am soo proud of you that your thoughts are soo refined and clear about age related stigma... 😊
May your kids become the light in your life and the coolness of your eyes...and may they keep making you happy and proud always. Ameen. ❤️🤗

even in hindu religion there is nothing related to age ..i.e woman should be younger to men ..no where in mariage vows its there

its just a bad tradition that got later in to the syatem.

draupadi has 5 husbands .and anotehr woman she married a maharshi and his ten brothers..

draupadi was elder than teh last twins in those 5 brothers.so even in ithihasasa mahabharatha there was never age related issue

closing PPK is not good at alla.i wont agree with that.whats wrong in ppk ..

peopel with regressive mindset did all those mess with ppk

clerly it was shown why diya got married to ratan in specal circumstances .e parents died nad elatives reday to murdre him for property

any thing u say to kids i a logical way tehy will agree.
see i told my son why diya marrie dto ratan and he is so convinvced

with out giving logic o u r children u yell on them and beat them and they develop hatred on u in heir mind nad they r more fixated on what they want ..

ppk should have been continued

Lol, varuni bhena, you are so serious 😆 regarding PPK. I said that because I did not watch that serial. I do not know why actually that serial went off. I'm happy because I see rohit and tejaswi together in this serial otherwise we will not meet here😃

Even RLHN, I watched from desert scene. As I said, I watch few Hindi serials. So far I watched 5 unique Hindi serials in my life.

actually there were regressive things in PPK but different from what was highlighted (I mean everyone knows child marraige is not okay nor is it legal; we also know that it still happens and that is a societal issue with needs to be dealt with firmly via law and order)...but the regressiveness came from the torturing of the bahu. there were instances of burning her with hot key, humiliating her when she is coming into the house, humiliating her publicly, using the child to push about honeymoon, demeaning her father...this torture of the bahu is also regressive mentality.

most shows have negative and regressive elements. the job of the leads is to remove/fight those regressive elements.

in PPK it would have been to some extent difficult to do that when the lead is shown to have knowingly gotten into wrong relation...for the sake of good no doubt. i have no doubt that they would have shown a time when ratan returns from london in PPK or wherever and feels burdened by diya and the relationship he was pushed into when he didnt even understand what it was.

with RLHN ratan, even if he felt burdened initially, it was his decision. even if he did he to fulfil his father promise, he chose to do it. he could never completely wash his hands of the responsibility and that was the reason when he failed in being responsible he justly felt guilty.

that would have been not so easy for PPK ratan.

yes rlhn ratan ..can not blame any one fr his decison of marrying diya .he did on free will .so i could not sympathise with the way he behaved with diya immediately after marriage

for me 21 yr old or 22 yr old can completely take his own decision and can take responsibility of marriage .being immature i cant take it as justification .so i kind of hated ratan after marriage

yes as for ppk ratan i cant hate him if he behaves the same way as RLHN ratan but still i would hope he would be matured enough to understan the circumstances behind his mrariage and acept diya as his wife as he woud not have been alive if not for this marriage ..i would not liked his character too if he behave dlike that but still could not have hated it too.

yes i agree with u swapna there r regressive elemnets in ppk that burning with keys ..but those regressive elements r here in mosts aas bahu shows in india. an dthat honeymoon instigation and that suhaag raat thing ..these r regressive as u said.

but i dont know how CV would have shaped up big ratan character in ppk ..bcos ratan is showed to be matured i a certain way even at 10 yrs old accepting diya

.at 21 yrs he behaving as though diya ia a burden i dont think it would have been logical

but banning that show i dont agree and i dont agee with those who petitioned against it. .as though there is no bigger issue than this in whole indian movies or indian tv.

YES IN PPK lead cant fight against child marriage

I am amazed Vijaya that you, being a mother, is saying this. Cause when I said the reverse thing to my mother ,"Ma, can I marry a boy who is 10 years younger than me" My mother was so angry that agar distance kam hota toh woh mujhe thappad hi de deta 😆 She said many many things abpout the age and marriage stuff and at the end she said, "jao jake padai karo".
