Raazi a bona fide hit now, Deadpool shutters after a good start

Raazi had an excellent second weekend of 21.25 crore nett which is a drop of just 35% from the first weekend. The total business of the film has crossed 77crore nett and the film is still going strong and has plenty of time till Race 3 to add to its tally.

The film is the third biggest hit of the year so far after Padmaavat and Baaghi 2. This is for Hindi films only and not including Avengers - Infinty War. Raazi has emerged a bigger Hit than Sonu Ke Tito ki Sweety and will start crossing that film in some circuits by the end of the second week.

The business of Raazi till date is as follows.

Week One - 56,00,00,000 apprx

Friday - 4,75,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 7,25,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 9,25,00,000 apprx

Second Weekend - 21,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 77,25,00,000 apprx

The film is holding up so strongly that it could start to cross the daily numbers of Deadpool 2 as we get towards the end of the week.

Deadpool 2 stuttered after a good start on Friday. The Friday numbers were very good considering the Adult certificate for the film but it faltered over Saturday and Sunday. The weekend grossed 27.50 crorenett but the big problem is the first day is the best day.




The film has fared poorly in the dubbed versions and Hollywood films can get away with that but here the film has gone to nearly 2000 screens so dubbed versions which will have more than half the screens have to contribute well for the film to sustain.




The Hindi version of the film hardly grew on Sunday after a noticeable fall on Saturday. It has not beenable to reach 10 crore nett for the weekendwhich is not good.The first weekend business of Deadpool 2 is as follows,.

Saturday - 8,75,00,000 apprx



Sunday - 9,25,00,000 apprx

The dubbed versions are going to fall heavily on Monday as the film has not found appreciation in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu but it still has some hope with the English version which could run for a few weeks.



It will not be easy for the English version alone to take it to a decent total as the screens playing dubbed versions will slowly get redundant but the chance is there although not a big chance.

Deadpool couldn't repeat the success of IW.

A lot of people in my theatre were unable to get the jokes in the English version of Deadpool

Raazi deserves the love..there are many who are going probably one more time to watch it..makes me think it has the repeat value as a well made thriller

While truth is any movie with universal appeal is gonna do good in any country.

Hindi dubbing was atrocious in the trailer and received a lot of flack on SM , no wonder the hindi version isnt doing that well.
