She might be a great actress. But one can't deny the fact that the industry biggies are trying their best to make her a superstar.

Otherwise she is so average looking. But thanks to nepotism, we may have our first average looking female superstar. But I would still say she doesn't have that look, aura or x-factor to be a superstar.

Happy that Alia has a success with raazi but people should stop with the overhyping. If one actress doing good for a reason doesn't mean the rest is sleeping. It's not that only one actor/actress is allowed to have a success.. If she fails in the next movies for whatever reason people will talk different again. Just recently rani did good with Hichki don't think she failed. So many upcoming movies and there will be other actresses than Alia who will shine too.

Just like the actors are talking with directors actresses do too and see what kind of project they are working on and ofcourse it depends how well connected you are in the industry to find the most interesting projects. Alia has the upper hand cause KJo gets the hottest scope before other actresses do also being good with leading actors is also a plus they help a Lot. Highway, dear zindagi and UP are examples of the connection.

But in the end the decisions makes or break your career. Just bc Alia took them doesn't mean other actress would have done the same. For example Piku was offered to pari at first but deepika did it in the end.

Alia has everything-except the magic.

A Queen,Kahaani,English Vinglish started at 2 crores opening-But the audience just fell in love with the protagonist.

I am not sure if that is happening with Raazi..We will know in a month or so.

But what Raazi has done is ,it has empowered the heroines.Today,they will demand bigger budgets,mainstream commercial cinema.

I can't imagine Deepika announcing a small film.If she can give a 300 cr hit with a big set up..Alia can single handedly deliver a 100 cr.Why settle for less.

Raazi becoming a big hit is a blessing this year.

to settle down so that leaves alia easier to net the goal.

Nitesh is still a risky proposition though cos he was a first time director and he collaborated with Aamir. So you can never be sure how much of it was Aamir's contribution and how much was his own. If his next film works, then KJo will probably get Alia to work with him 😆

Before Tiger Zindagi hai Katrina was failing hard at the Box Office. She knew she needed to do this film to save herself and it's a safe bet considering the first film was so successful, I'm glad that Katrin was in the movie but calling her the reason for its success is a stretch.

I like Katrina, but let's be real.

You cant just say one person is a bigger star because of an opening. I know this forum loves to say that "opening means star power" it really doesnt. Content, Music, Hype, Starcast, Subject etc - all of these MAKE the opening numbers. Thats why the same Tiger Shroff can have a 25+ Crore opening with Baaghi-2...Where as Munna MIchael opened to 6 crores...I

But then in the forum, it seems, everything can be used to fit whomever is the target...Now it seems opening numbers is the basis..other times is their box office in India.. next will be the 'artistic quality'...

In Alia's case though..everything went well..she is also supported from the industry...so maybe it shouldn't be a surprise she is getting the glory.

If another girl was doing same quality movies, she might have not got the acclaim, the press, the insiders supporting her...not even the quality of roles.Without a lot of press, the opening and BO might not be great.

As the industry runs right now, we might never know if certain bonus 'pushes' make some star kids look better or it is just the talent..

Regarding the other actresses: well who are her contemporaries? Where are they, or what strong roles are there for them? Maybe that is the issue- there doesn't seem to be, like before, 5-6 actresses vying for the good roles..Right now, it seems is Alia getting good roles and the other ones are fading in the background?

Now if this is because they aren't talented enough, popular enough, supported enough.. I cannot say. Nor can I say what would have happened if another girl from outside industry fam would have been a breakout star, like Deepika when she debuted...
