The trailer of Veere Di Wedding, starring Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania created quite a stir when it first hit the web, owing to its frequent use of profanities and cuss words.
There are also scenes were girls are discussing an orgasm, and a sequence where the protagonists use a vibrator.
There were reports that Ekta Kapoor had asked for an A certificate, for the film.
Now, the cuss words and profanities in the trailer have been allowed to stay, courtesy Jeetendra and Anil Kapoor. The film has received an A certificate.
"Both Jeetendra (Ekta Kapoor's father) and Anil argued heatedly in favour of the colourful language spoken in the film. They are convinced that today's youngsters speak that foul lurid leery language. Some panel members objected. But finally, the board members agreed to let the language remain intact and gave the film an 'A' certificate," a source told Deccan Chronicle.
Apparently, members of the CBFC (Central Board of Film Ceritifcation) "were dead against" the four women using such language. They even said it was akin to "drunk fisherwomen."
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Veere Di Wedding will hit the screens on June 1.
