Agreed.

A decade ago, they'd have fit in well, but not anymore. You could make a case for Aamir - as I think he looks the best out of the three these days and could get into the skin of the character. He'd do well playing Shakuni, Vidur, or even Yudhisthir.

Salman and SRK shouldn't be part of Mahabharata unless in secondary roles. SRK would do well as Shantanu. For Salman, he would have made an excellent Duryodhana a few years ago, but not anymore.

Mainstream actors wouldn't cut it in Mahabharata. Personally, I wish they just left Mahabharata alone because Bollywood isn't ready for it yet. There are other epics or tales that are interesting enough. Regardless, I can only envisage Hrithik and Ranveer from the contemporary actors in primary roles. The rest don't have the make-up.
