Pooja is contradictory.
She says she cared about Aditya, and when she was around him she wanted to take care of him but then has an affair. Don't see how having an affair is taking care of him.
So for her she was unhappy, and she found love with another man. Fair enough, but to have a serious affair with someone to the point you consider divorce as an option, and still not mention anything to your husband, is pathetic and cowardly. She found her happiness with someone else, that didn't give her the right to mess with the emotions of another human being.
And to add to all of this, it's clear from the flashbacks that she still showed that she cared about Aditya, even planning a party for him. To me she doesn't seem like someone who has fallen out of love with her husband and in love with another man, rather she seems like a woman who wanted the best of both worlds. She wanted her stable husband at home, and her passionate affair. At least that's what it seems like.
I could maybe understand her falling for someone else, but not her having an affair. Aditya was her childhood best friend, he was her husband, but she still didn't care about his feelings enough to spare him the pain of her having an affair. A person who for their own happiness can disregard the feelings of the person they call their best friend, is just plain selfish.
The show and others can point to Aditya's flaws, but I think that's a bad excuse. Everyone has faults, if you're unhappy with your partner to the point you'd have an affair, either outright tell them to change their bad habits or ask them to make more of an effort in the relationship, or leave with dignity. No one deserves to be cheated on.
