Part 7 -
She gulped hard trying to think proper word but nothing came . Maan looked at her for sometime , but when she kept silent for long , he got up to go but next moment stop hearing her .
" I met Dev when I met with an accident at London . A reputed doctor and charming man . We both are Indian so we get well with each other and very soon we became good friend . Then friendship turned into love . For two years we were together , everything was going fine ..he was a perfect man and perfect boyfriend of any girl's dream. We both were serious about each other . But things start changing when he gotten busy with his new hospital . It was his dream , opening hospital by his grandparents name . But our equation damaged that time because of less communication, less contact less meeting . Slowly small things start causing fight between us . I start growing impatience and one day went to his hospital only to witness him hugging his ex . I was furious angry sad and cause a big scene . He tried to convince me but I was too angry to listen anything. After week finally when I clam down we met but I never thought he would do something like that . He proposed me to marry him . I was shocked , happy but confused. Till now I never took any big decision without my father's consents, I stay mum couldn't answer him . He thought I'm rejecting , I'm not trusting him "
Geet took a long breath as she recalled Dev's tried sad face . She knows he is too busy too held up in everything but still he managed to take little time just for her . But this sudden proposal she couldn't say the words .
" you don't trust me , even when i told you so many times that im not in touch with my ex and that was sudden visit of her, still you think I'm with Neha don't you . You don't trust my word " he said with most hurt voice . He seems so lost so broken Geet wanted to hug him , say him her reason . But next moment he told something breaking her heart
" it's over Geet. It will never work , where there is no trust how can we think of going forward "
" Dev it's not like th..."
" you think so low of him . You think I am cheating behind your back "
" no Dev listen " but he is already gone . Next day was more painful for her as she got call from Dev who angrily brust on her ...
" I never thought that you can do down so low Geet. I loved you I trusted you and you gave me this. "
Geet frowned don't getting him " Dev what are saying? "
" don't pretend Geet. How could you do this ? How could you leak the news of my proposal ? You wanted to punish me don't you. " she still didn't get all this but she can feel he is crying
" see you win then , Dadu in hospital ..."
" what ? Par achnak ? .."
" oh please stop acting geet , you very well know how much my family value their respect still you insult me like this . And now Dadu got heartattack . All because of you , i will never forgive you . It's really over now " he hung before she can say anything .
Later she got the whole matter . Local newspaper speared the news of his rejected proposal in bad way , they twisted many things about him . His Grandfather , a well reputed man couldn't bear such bad gossiping about his only grandson . In old age he couldn't take people's bad comment and endless taunt about Dev's character , finally caused him minor heartattack. Geet wanted to call him tell him that she didn't say anything to anyone but he never took her call . Geet knew he is worried sad , he will listen to her once everything clam down but nothing happened. Just like one day she got a message from his number saying ' She is only biggest mistake of his life and doesn't want to see her ever again ' . Still she tried last time but she got the same answer..
" please just listen to me once "
" look Geet Dadu just discharged from hospital, I'm not in mood to talk ..."
" just answer my simple question please " she cut him to say the last thing which can break this relation or make it " am I a mistake of your life ?" She hold her breath as nothing came from other side ..just then she began to hope he broke his silence , finishing all between them ...
" yes " .

Geet closed her eyes as she can still feel the pain of those words . When she open them she saw Maan still looking at her with same bored expression. " Then I left London for good "
she continued as Maan didn't say anything " Dad knew everything, and tried to mend my heart by calling Dev . But I didn't let him do that . Just like that year passed but my pain still there. Dad couldn't bear to see me aloof and marry me off ..."
" to me " finally he said something after hearing all " uncle wanted you to be happy that's why married you to me thinking I can replace Dev and make you happy , right "
he kept quiet for sometime then finally said what bothering him " but I'm not some replacement Geet. I'm also a human who deserve to be happy , who deserve a happy family . A wife , kids everything . What do you think only girls dream when they get married . Boys too do same . I did dream Geet but you just crush all . "
Geet looked deeply in his eyes and first time see sadness in them . He is expression less man but his eyes says all . His eyes accusing her for breaking his dream family . Then she realised she saw the same sadness on their first night , when she disclose about her past . There she thought he is a robot without any heart of feelings
" First night you said you want time, I gave you . You promised that you will try to accept me but in truth you never tried to look at me forget about giving chance to this relation . You were so lost in your pain that didn't realise you were hurting someone . Your past , your love , you heartbreak then why you punished me ? and then not to forget the public humiliation "
she has no answer of his question " I'm sorry , I'm truly sorry. I'm regretting the every moment i did wrong . I know I was horrible i... "
" no doubt you were horrible . You were behaving like some witch "
she flinched at his bad remark . Hearing from him pinched her heart slightly , he picked up a tissue and wiped off her tears ever so softly , a warm feeling touched her heart...
" irony is that you telling me your sob story , shedding tears for someone else but I'm your husband wiping it not your ex love , who dated you for years but still believe that you can play with him or more over can hurt him. Was it even love ? if it was then where was trust there ? "
She should have argue back but she couldn't because somewhere she felt he saying truth . May be her bond with Dev was not that strong or Dev never deeply love her or trust her enough to accuse her like that .
" I should have told you to get out but I can't. I promised your father I will keep you happy . I can't hurt that man but can i forgive you ? Can i take risk to this relation where you may not loyal to me ever "
his question stunned her . She knows what he meant by loyality, he was talking about her heart . Can it be loyal to her husband ? Or she will stay with him and continue dream of her ex . Boy or girl it's not easy for one to stay together knowing your partner won't be yours by heart and soul. Can she do it ? Can she really move on ? from now where she got the answer look at her husband's dark eyes which showing his sadness ...
" all I want a chance Maan. " she said after sometime , his eyes flickers with surprise .
He didn't expect her to say this . He thought she will say sorry and go but she proved him wrong .
" do you ? You already broke your promise ..you crused me , insulted ... "
" I do want a future, a family . " she cut him with confidence..
" I know I hurt you but I want a new start. No i n not doing it for Dad . Call me selfish I want to do it for myself . I want to prove that I'm not mistake of anyone life . I want a start of US "

Maan was pacing in his room after talking to her . He is confused that is new . All those flings or relationship of his past didn't make him this worried or confused but his wife did this miracle . His heart wants to make a new start but he is afraid the result won't be in his favour. He will loose badly and there won't be any way to get himself back . Already she managed shut his mouth not so long ago which is rare . His mind screaming danger .
Just then he remember her tears, those painful tears broke something in him , he can't see her in tears . But why he has no answer . He is so talkative person still he couldn't say anything infront of her new plan of start anew of them . He was about to go out when Geet came in with his phone .
" woh aapka phone baj raha tha "
he took it slowly and Geet turned to go . Just then he said those words which he didn't plan to say at all " let's date ..i mean let's do it "
she looked at him surprised then realise what he meant , she nodded her head muttering thank you ..." I won't disappoint you I promise , this time i mean it . i will fmgive 100 percent in this marriage . " she paused for sometime
" again thank you for saving my Dad "
he nodded not looking at her but suddenly realised something " you didn't know I took him hospital , I saved him "
" no "
" Damn " he sounds so disappoint " I should have told you about my heroic act , you should have think me as hero and didn't behave that way . Then there would have so much peace in my life ."
She amused by his comment heroic act , his husband really different...not pretense nothing at all
" you know I hate those serial heroes who helped heroine but keep them in dark then suffered . It's not cool at all. See here I too suffered "
" I'm sorry ...what i did " she again apologised but his eyes saying he still annoyed .
Then suddenly his eyes soften looking at her keenly, he didn't like her sad face and without his knowledge the words slipped from his mouth ..
" I didn't lie when I said I want a proper marriage and a big family Geet . Don't play with me again please . I want this marriage to work because I really like you "
