Aanand L. Rai's Unconventional Love Story Meri Nimmo Sees A Major Worldwide Digital Release

The story depicts the young boy's roller coaster ride of emotions set against the backdrop of his beloved Nimmo's impending nuptials.

April 27, 2018

Eros Now has now added another feather to its cap. In association with Colour Yellow Productions and Aanand L. Rai, it unveils its first original film Meri Nimmo' today to its viewers through a worldwide premiere.

Directed by Rahul Shankalya and produced by eminent filmmaker Aanand L. Rai, Meri Nimmo was selected for 2016's NFDC Film Bazaar and is enjoying a straight to digital release on Eros Now.

Aanand L. Rai's Unconventional Love Story Meri Nimmo Sees A Major Worldwide Digital Release

Commenting on the development, filmmaker and producer Aanand L. Rai said, "Developing content for digital consumption on Eros Now was a natural progression after our association together on films for the big screen. The digital world excites as well as challenges me and at Colour Yellow Digital, we can't wait to paint this blank canvas and present Indian content targeted towards audiences for this medium.

A delightful coming of age film starring Newton actor, Anjali Patil in and as Nimmo along with child actor Karan Dave as the central protagonist, it earned wide praise at the 47th International Film Festival (IFFI) and the 19th MAMI Mumbai Film Festival last year.

The film revolves around an eight-year-old boy who thinks he is in love with a 24-year-old girl and what follows when the object of his affection decides to get married. The story depicts the young boy's roller coaster ride of emotions set against the backdrop of his beloved Nimmo's impending nuptials.

"Meri Nimmo is one such film that's very Indian at heart and I'm sure it will strike the right chord with its beautiful storytelling and standout performances, Aanand says confidently.

This association is the first of the many that Eros Now and Colour Yellow Digital are planning in 2018-19. Guess the viewers are indeed in for a treat!

It looks like a rip-off of that awful Sony TV show Pehredaar Piya Ki which was banned by the channel.. had the same story about a little boy married to an adult woman.

Well If the roles were reversed, it would've never seen the light of the day or even made. šŸ˜†

Why should we imagine if genders were reversed? I mean, what are you pointing at?

Really? Such similar 'different' nonsense was already made & banned by Sony TV due to the backlash. Plus the concept is so disgusting. 🤢

I think he means, if it was about a little girl & an adult man.. then what would've been the reception? I think the feminists would've blasted the makers for such content if roles were reversed & tagged it as a pedophile concept.. which i feel it is.

That one was banned cos he was married to her in the show.

Here its about him having feelings for someone alot older and she marries someone else. Not the little boy.

but this is not actual marriage... That show was showing that woman marrying the boy to protect him

Here he has an innocent crush and how he overcomes it when she gets married to someone her age... I think that concept is different and its not disgusting... Everything doesnt have to be sexual and pervert...there is something called innocent crush which everyone of us feel in their childhood...we dont even know why we like a certain person, but we just do... nothing wrong in basing a story on it...

A lot of people, men and women alike, have innocent crush on their teachers. It is normal. that Pehredaar show was about her marrying a small kid and romancing the little kid(from what I heard, IDK the real issue that well)
