Himani Shivpuri was born in Dehradun on a very special date…the first day of the year, January 1st. Though her father was a teacher and her mother was a housewife, Himani sought to be different. As she went through the years of her education, she discovered her interest for acting and drama. She made her debut in the film industry through her movie, Ab Ayega Mazaa. Her first experience on television was the show, Humrahi.
However, through her many years of hard work, she struggled to gain popularity in the film industry much more than in Tellywood. She played every character, starting from a bar dancer to mother and virtually everything in between.
Her first famous and incredibly high grossing movie was Hum Apke Hain Kaun, a movie starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit.
In GES Himani portrays the role of Uttara Chaudry (Utti), the overpossesive wife and mother of six who has her share of likes and dislikes. She is not happy with the new bride Kakul and the old bride Cynthia, as she wanted her sons to marry girls of her choice only. She has a real talent for pointing out only the negative points in a person and is not ashamed of disgrace people to her benefits. She is a real life character with her own highs and lows…
