Apr 25/18 Reactions - Episode #1085 "Fantasy Land"

Hi guys!

From what I've seen around...no one is really thinking or feeling the way I do about the show right now. I would like to be able to explain myself better but I just don't have words right now. I really like the narrative space that has opened up and I'm really interested in the story they seem to be trying to tell. So my reactions come primarily from a place of appreciation, although as you'll see, there were some specific things I very much did not like at all.

So yeah sorry if none of this makes sense! Thanks for having a look! Lots of love to all.

What is Mina Show?

When I watch an episode and react with random comments/recaps moments that struck my attention. Also sometimes my various family members participate, mostly my dad, who likes to give episodes letter grades because he's a retired professor and misses grading assignments apparently 😆

Can I comment?

While I am watching the episode, the thread has "Res" for a title, and I would ask for no comments then please so that all of my reactions can flow together. After that yes of course you can comment 😊

Here we go!

Dad is muttering under his breath some Bengali word I don't understand and when I asked for an explanation he said something I couldn't follow that SEEMS to mean something like "this show is just like the haze a drug addict gets"

...😆 I'm not arguing with that.

So we finally meet King. Um. And the first thing he does is tell a fangirl she's "Number 49". #AbhiWouldNever. And then he gets into a drinking contest with some guy.

Why. Is. This. On. My. Show.

Don't want.

Kiara's background music is super cute. And I feel so badly for this child, I feel she is all alone in the world. I don't think she is AbhiGya's biological daughter nor King's neither. But let's see what we are told about that.

I don't like how King talks to Pragya but he does have a good point - the club is not a great place to bring a little kid 😔

I was rubbed REALLY the wrong way by how he said 'iss bacche' in reference to Kiara. I may certainly be overinterpreting it but it felt too distant for someone who's supposed to give her a father's love.

I don't like how King pronounces Pragya's name.

I don't like how Pragya is in a position of having to apologize for her choices.

Mom is asking me what King and Pragya's relationship is. I told her we don't know yet! I hope she's still here later in the episode when Pragya gives it a name.

Now she's asking me Abhi really married Tanu. Mom it's the second episode! Nobody knows anything yet!

I LOVEEE how reluctant Abhi was to dance. I love Pragya's reluctance not quite as much.

But oooh i did not like this KingYa dance at all at all at all bye.

Oooh this is... oof. This AbhiGya memory sequence, hallucination sequence - gosh it hits hard! I'm so surprised we have THIS MUCH indication of their feelings only in the 2nd episode. It's reassuring to know they're still the heart of the story.

Oh GOSH watching AbhiGya dance causes such heartache when we know they're so far apart, emotionally, and will be for a while.

Pragya walking alone carrying the child alone everything alone excuse me while I cry bye.

Oye Abhi if you're thinking about who you hate when you're trying to be happy...think harder. Your heart is telling you what your brain doesn't want to hear.

Mom and Dad are asking me AGAIN when/how Tanu and Abhi's shaadi happened.

Now they're arguing whether it's called leap, leaf, or leave

Ugh this scene is so...sleazyyy.

Dad is reminding me not to watch the drug haze inducing show...and then he's watching from under the corner of his arm which he has thrown over his eyes 🤣

Pragz being called back to babysit King and get him free from the police in the LEAST realistic way boo.

Mom was here for when Pragya calls King her husband and just said - how can he be her husband?

Such a major piece of silliness. "Let him go or our kid will be sad." As if???

I don't like Pragya assigning blame to the other woman just like that. That's lame, Pragya.

Adorable that this officer's ancestors are from India! Not super convincing but who knows! And as much as I do not like King I did like his "satsriakal praji" 😆

Look if you're mad at Abhi for being in this marriage with Tanu - you be mad. That's your prerogative. But we're getting sign after sign that this guy is not all here and not all into it.

I'm celebrating all those signs.

One day his understanding is going to be knocked right back around.

Precap - Pragya taking King to task for not keeping up with his duties! Ok! Thank you! Someone ought to tell him after all.

Watched just highlights.

Ek's pH has so much money to shoot for other shows at foreign locales but kkb never gets an outdoor shoot- wish they had been to London

I skipped most of the king's scenes but the way he talked to pragya seemed so patronising. Dance sequence was good, mishal and Sriti have good chemistry but King seems to be quintessential bad boy so I wouldn't prefer him as a romantic angle for pragya. Mishal is quite choosy with his roles and I don't think balaji will reduce his screen time anytime soon , specially till they see the trps this track brings.

Kiara may not be abhigya's daughter- but she is pragya's now. Pragya would never never give up on her, I really don't care about the couples but if the CVS make pragya give up Kiara for any reason- I would be really angry. Kiara is a sweetheart!

Shabbir is good as abhi these days- abhi's body language pretty much tells you how much me doesn't care for his relationship with Tanu but he is trying .

Foreign shoot - agree! London track without a london shoot is sooo cheap and chintzy feeling! But I think it's a Zee limitation :(

Patronising- exactly. Did not see any support or affection or just simple appreciation. As a person who adores Pragya, that annoyed me.

Mishal - yeah they just signed him on so he can be expected to have lots of screentime. But KKB has a history of underusing actors so that's not a guarantee! I guess it will depend on how the audience responds to him. His first appearance would not endear him to family minded viewers.

Kiara - oh dear. When I think about what the plot may do to her I get so angry. She is an innocent child, it's not her fault if the adults around her are playing pretend. But she is the one who will be irreparably hurt when those pretences fall apart. As regards her and Pragya, I am torn on this. Doing anything that hurts Kiara would be irresponsible and I expect better of Pragya. But she is so so so unhappy where her life is and...Kiara is bound to get hurt as a byproduct of Pragya may be getting bacl some of her happiness. Sigh.

Re Abhi's body language with Tanu- yup. I'm honestly not bothered he is with her now. That's what happens after leaps, vamps get to be in power positions. I would rather him be with Tanu than someone new, as that would have meant him giving promises and expectations to someone. Anything he has given Tanu can also be interpreted as Tanu going out of her way to take from him. I was stunned and happy to get to see how completely broken up he still is over Pragya in such an early post leap episode. His face and frozen moments on the dance floor were A+. He is certainly trying to fool himself into believing he has moved on and Pragya was a mistake in his life but he has clearly not succeeded in 7 years. The truth will out ;)

Thank you Neha! I have been frustrated by a lot of perspectives that I feel are missing the point of what they're trying to show. Since you don't ship AbhiGya it seems that you are able to get more out of the show than people who are still understandably hurt by what happened between them. But the show is sure to veer back to less than rational AbhiGya sequences before long and I hope that doesn't turn you off entirely when it happens!

Lol new promo would be good to know whats coming! But the current promo is so glossy and dramatic. I dont think theyre going to retire it yet 😆

That sequence of them remembering each other was so powerful!

Will be interested to know the truth of Pragya's situation with King...I feel we will get to know in bits and pieces only.

In this situation i started feel for abhi he's in really bad state! Means from starting there's someone want him to make realise anything..

Dasi is there but why he's holding Aaliya words..

And he even didn't know he have a angel daughter what he wished for... whenever he ll regret for the thing what he lose... he already lose SEVEN YRS...
