Huma Qureshi’s cousin Asif Qureshi murdered in Delhi over a parking dispute; two arrested

Tragedy struck in Delhi's Nizamuddin area when a parking dispute turned deadly. Asif Qureshi, cousin of actress Huma Qureshi, was fatally stabbed by his neighbors, Ujjwal and Gautam, after he asked them to move their scooter parked in front of his house. The incident occurred around 11 pm on Thursday in Jangpura Bhogal Lane.

According to police, the altercation began when Asif asked the men to move their scooter, which was parked in front of his house, blocking the entrance. The situation escalated, and the accused, Ujjwal and Gautam, attacked Asif with sharp weapons, causing fatal injuries. He was rushed to the National Heart Institute in East Kailash, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Sainaz Qureshi stated that the parking issue had caused prior disputes. On Thursday, upon Asif's return from work, a confrontation arose when he requested the removal of a neighbor's two-wheeler parked at their entrance.

Instead of complying, the neighbors allegedly began abusing Asif and then attacked him with sharp weapons, according to Sainaz.

Asif, critically injured in the attack, was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his chest wound. Ujjwal, 19, and Gautam, 18, who resided nearby, have been arrested in connection with the incident, the police reported.

Describing what happened on Thursday night, Shaheen, one of Asif's wives said, "At around 9:30-10 pm, a neighbour parked a scooter right outside our house…My husband, Asif, requested him to move the vehicle away. The man abused Asif and threatened to come back," NDTV reported.

“Within minutes the man, along with his brother, came and stabbed Asif with a sharp weapon. I called Javed, my brother-in-law but by the time he reached, Asif had lost a lot of blood and died,” Shaheen added.

Saleem Qureshi, Asif's uncle, described the incident as follows, “Two men parked a scooter in front of the house. Asif asked them to move it aside and not block the entrance. This led to a verbal altercation that turned physical. They were two, together they killed my nephew.”

Actor Huma Qureshi has not yet commented on the incident.
