I agree. It really strikes me that avni is all alone. No biological parents, no Neelama, no friends nothing. It's all Neil and his family and his friends and his house. Ali would really be hers - her childhood friend, her support. No one can make up for that - not even the Khannas. Already you find Shweta thinking it is better for them to split. Others will soon join. Unless Gautam is a really expensive actor, I won't understand why the PH isn't willing to add him to the story. Why has he not seen on the news that Avni is alive?

I think Gautam was one of the actors who refused to come back after the leap. I find that Avni isn't being portrayed as the strong person that she is. They should really give back her backbone.

As Shweta was talking to Neil yesterday I had this terrible feeling of deja vu. I remembered a very similar dialogue where she gave her Tillu advice during his haldi ceremony with Riya. She told him he needed to move forward and on. I am not in any way saying that shweta has turned negative - in fact what she told him was what any mom would tell her son. And yet it really cheapened the Neel-Avni eternal love connectionfor me.

Also when she spoke to Mitali she said if Avni doesn't want my Neil then they need to move on. Avni seemed so alone... I know I am repeating myself but I like that character so much and I like the actress so much that I can do nothing but rant.

Avni IS truly alone now. Her only real friend is Suneheri who knows everything. Ali is irreplaceable. But yes I think Gautam has refused to rejoin. Dont blame him as they never developed enough of a track for him after RM track. Those days the show was Gold. It was after Choohi overload and Mishti/VR that everything went down the drain.

I agree, she is one dimensional and boring. But maybe that is my prejudice speaking since I want a better portrayal of Avni, who is also coming across as one dimensional and boring these days.

Urgh!

Having said that I have in the past started watching other Indian tv serials and stopped because they became too patriarchal or far fetched. Somehow I can't do that with Naamkarann. I WANT this serial to work. I WANT them to meet my expectations.
