There are many other major industries in India such as Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi apart from others like Punjabi, Assamese, Odia, Bhojpuri etc. Still 60% of the awards went to only one language? 😕

Decade decade ki baat hai... but not really odd. 6 wins. The roles for leading actresses have gotten meaty in the last decade.

Now contrast your statistics with earlier decade.

1998 - 2007 - 3 Hindi wins - Godmother, Chandni Bar, Daman (3 arts)

1987 - 1997 - 3 Hindi wins - Rudaali, Bandit Queen, Maachis (3 arts)

1976 - 1986 - 5 Hindi wins - Bhumika, Umrao Jaan, Arth, Paar, Bhavna (5 arts)

1967 - '1975 - 5 Hindi wins - Raat Aur Din, Dastak, Reshma Aur Shera, Ankur, Mausam (5)

Who cares ? I don't think they pick winners based on the language plus Hindi cinema is the biggest and most influential so it's natural for it to have more winners

I should have learnt not take NA seriously after Akshay won. But I was really rooting and hoping for Parvathy to win this year. Even that didn't happen. Was honesty disappointed. By performance alone, she was the most deserving of all. I know this awards hold not much significance but as a fan I knew it could bring her some limelight or recognition which she deserves. Her talent deserves the recognition. Anyways it's okay there were more undeserving who won before so I can't complain.

ps: Not saying Sri isn't deserving just that Parvathy is more. Clarifying before some members jump on me.

OT: in the list I honestly feel PC wasn't much deserving tbh. Again imo. Idk what other performances were in running that year.

Yesterday I watched a Tamil movie Aruvi which was released in the last year . Before watching it, I thought Parvathi ( Take off fame) deserved the national award, but Aditi who portrayed the role of Aruvi deserved the award more than anyone else . Can't believe it is her second movie . She was so natural in it .

This made me realise that national award is just like any other award which can be manipulated .

Thats her first film as a lead actress.She played an extra role(as trisha's friend) in that ajith film.

Really ? I heard that the movie was offered to Nayanthara and Samantha ,glad that the rejected the offer , no one can match Aditi's performance , she was brilliant .👏

not only raveena and anil did daag to NA, but how can one forget biggest daag, called hum tum mama sharmila and beta saif 😆 and not to forget karishma for dil toh paagal hai

and many many more. i heard akki won some big award for rustom or whatever
