As regards family vs Anika, I don't see where that is the case. I don't think ever since he has acknowledged Anika's place in his life has he ever chosen family over Anika. He might have done that once upon a time but that became moot a long time ago. He is just fiercely protective of all those he loves and therefore would shield from anything that might potentially hurt them even at the cost of hurting himself. It's just who he is. And Anika is definitely number one for him. Even all his thoughts, actions and emotions have been for Anika even when there plenty for him chew over about Oberois. Anika is all he is thinking about. Family is his responsibility and one he has been shouldering and holding together for much of his life. It's just part of his DNA. In fact he treats Anika as one with him most times that people perceive things as him putting family first. Because there are times when he puts family before himself and Anika and he are one. So it may seem like that. But I don't think he ever makes a choice of one over the other. All coexist in their own place. The fact that he treats Anika as one with him together shouldering the responsibility for family already makes her more special than anyone. As he himself said jee nahin payeega woh Anika ke bina.
