Before anybody of you starts bashing me. Listen me out. I am ah ugeeJennifr Winget fan! The way she portrayed Maya was phenomenal. I believe nobody could have done justice to the character like winget did.
Like me, I am sure every winget fan must had been excited for her return on TV. To watch more of this powerhouse performer which explains the bumper opening of bepannah.
To be honest, there were so many things that disappointed. I request everybody to before starting to jump and fight because I said something which offended you( I am sorry in advance) but let's discuss is rationally.

}}Zoya's poor characterization.
That girl keeps on crying which gets cringy after a while. After beyhad the bars were set damn High for Jennifer. Ofcourse nobody was expecting the character to be same as Maya but nobody even expected a character who keeps on crying and taking bullshit from her in-laws like the typical female leads on television. Chanting ''hamara yash' and not willing to see any reason. Myown mother and relatives stopped watching the show after 4 days because of this same reason. Zoya's constant crying, her not taking a stand etc. Their words, not mine.
I get it they were trying to portray a factor of innocence in her but innocent doesn't mean the person can't be strong. Sorry, but Zoya's isn't strong, yeah maybe because she was very pampered and protected but still the CVs have not done justice to the character which the Jennifer Winget is supposed to play

}} Aditya's typical male lead behaviour
Harshad is doing a fantastic job as Aditya Hooda but there are some things which turn people off, again for reference my cousins had this reason to stop watching . The pushing and pulling of female lead,( sort of manhandling) declaring her as his property 'I owe you' 'i will destroy you ' etc has been an overused concept in Indian television. That behaviour is nothing refreshing.

The concept is amazing but there are some loopholes in storyline and characters hichh turn people off. I have stated what I have listened to in REAL LIFE. They have such amazing actors like Jenny and Harshad. I hope they don't waste their potential. Fr

Feel free to share your views. No bashing no hate no negative comments. :)

Funny my family also stopped watching for the same exact reasons. They were so excited for Maya's come back ( My family calls her Maya), but all they got was her nonstop crying which they had enough of that in the last few months of Beyhadh where Maya's life was extremely depressing and she would non stop cry. But at least Maya's character was on another level and extremely well written and well played by Jennifer that people were hooked and attached to Maya's character and her pain. Here Zoya's character is written so poor and on top, it's a new character where no one feels attached or emotional about it for her to start non stop crying just when show began. It annoyed and my family started complaining and then addition to that Aditya's being jerk and abusive didn't help either so they got annoyed with him too and stopped watching.

IMO, now cvs should balance the lead characters as they are too extreme, work on Zoya's character, bring the thrill and should to bring light and funny scenes as well with all the intense and emotional scenes they are showing.

Exactly. Zoya's excessive crying and Aditya's jerk behaviour. I don't know why abusing or manhandling a woman is considered hot. But people are becoming more aware and getting attracted to male leads who are sort of gentleman even in hate.

This is not bashing but my viewpoint. I have huge respect for both the lead pairs capabilities so here is my POV -

I disagree with you on the points you have on the leads. Depends from person to person what they like to see on tv. If you see the top primetime shows on the trp chart, each of them had hate-love stories and terrible ghisa-pita Ekta storylines.

1. Jennifer is not doing a Beyhadh type character here so it is not logical to expect a same kickass role from a totally different character. Pooja was an independent and strong character (from the 2% that we have seen so far) and it will be a nice change if we get a female lead very different from the female parallel lead. Nahi toh it will be the same love story they had with their spouses. I don't know anyone who has lost a husband at such a young age and they have cheered up within a week or two. Grief takes time and if the CVs are being realistic, that is okay. She has all the right to think about her husband. Seeing wooden face time and again is damn irritating but the story has not been even completed a month. Look at what Zo has done- Rote rote hi sahi, she has moved to Mumbai all by herself, if Mahi had not allowed her to live with them, she would have lived in a hotel and she had the guts to handle Yash's business all by herself whereas no other woman in real life would have cared to do so.Unlike other lead heroines, she does not hate Adi for treating her with contempt on her brain activity, and I can see a slow and steady character development. Only in her grief she has allowed him to dominate her or else she has answered back or showed him the mirror one way or the other.

2. Looking at the grim faced, never smiling heroes of television with a months on end revenge track, what kind of manhandling has Adi done so far? The only time he crossed the line was pushing her off the terrace, which we all condoned. The thing about Adi's character is he is saying revenge but acting out something else entirely. I have not seen such a track on TV to be fair. If you look at Geet or KMH 1, IPKKND and so many other office tracks, the male leads were totally out of line. Adi says he is angry and then he does a total turn around and ends up helping her not because he is attracted to her but he is a good person. That's how I read his character and I really do not understand how people are failing to see the difference in his completely playful portrayal of a revenge track against the evill, conniving tracks that ruled TV (RK from Madhubala for example)

My points. Characters have no problem. It is the damn suspense that is putting people off. Stick to one concept of cheating because that is what pulled the audience in. But they are showing widow remarriage with the most amazing previous spouses ever or widowed people love story track which has been covered in at least 5 shows so far.

I agree that TVs angry young man has been done to death. But Harshad's portrayal as Aditya is completely re freshening and brings charm to the show. The show is excellent except for the yash flashback but trp aunties like saas bahu serials. Harshad is the highlight of the show.

@Darling I love maya. Besides it was the first indian show I watched but let's be honest after season 1, it was ugh...they made maya accept this "friendship". He left her pregnant in a psychiatric hospital while he was spending time with her "friend". Maya have continued to love him despite all the choking, manhandling, abuse (I remember the scene where he dragged her on the floor when she is pregnant and had contractions). And finally she carried the child of the man she loves and his new wife and he kills her. Sorry but I didn't like it and am still pissed off.
The only reason I kept watching is that I loved maya and jennifer and her acting.

I agree they both, specially Aditya has many postive points too.
They both are nice and genuine people who are at their worst phase but some things xould have been more better. That's it. Some things went against the expectations

The story is moving REALLLY slow!
This marriage tract was not needed at this point!
and now on top of that, Adi is helping with the marriage prep all of a sudden!

The truth needs to be out soon so the story can move forward and the viewers can see many more shades of each character!
