Please don't start to bash me. Everyone has their opinion.
I am a HUGE Jennifer Winget fan. She is a terrific actor, the kind that is rare. Beyhadh proved that is a phenomenal powerhouse performer.
With the promos of Bepannah I was excited to see Jenny again on screen and waited for it. The first episode went good but after that everything started going downhill.
This constant crying of Zoya and 'Hamara Yash' ka ratta is really turning people off. I don't know how can they have such poor characterization of the character that Jennifer Winget has to play! I mean seriously, it's like wasting her talent.
I am sorry of I offend anybody but after watching Maya the bars were set very high. No body wants to see a female lead who is crying every time. I get it that they were trying to portray 'innocence' in Zoya but the way they are trying to do so is questionable.
Harshad is a good character, I won't say Aditya is a perfect character but is far more better than Zoya.
And again this is going to sound offending, but what is this nowaydays withh the male leads going all agressive and pushing and pulling around the female lead? And the female lead whimpering and trying to get out of his hold.
I am sorry but Zoya is a very very weak character. A strong person can have innocence too and every person has a bit of vulnerability too. The CVs are really butchering Zoya's role.

she is not weak character.. she is naive although annoyingly bt she fought with her parents to marry yash n also in 1st epi she fought with aditya too for the gramaphone n didnt fear n give up till the end.. she came to mumbai thru plane even though she has phobia frm flying.. n is living in the city now with almost stranger in laws n no support frm any1.. that takes a lot of guts.. about crying part.. she lost her husband recently n is in totally new place for the first time in her life unsheltered.. that will make any tough girl cry too.. she is not tough bt not weak too bt something in between n this show is about that growth in character only..
about jenny she cant have nw every role offered to her like maya na.. will seem repetitive too.. n also as an actor i think she is taking n trying all types of role.. so zoya character which is so naive n soft is different frm all the other roles she did so far..

These are my thoughts -

From what we saw in the last couple of episodes, if she has her focus on something like work away from her grief, she is actually a capable and intelligent individual. Losing someone you love so much is not a get over in a night ordeal and the show has just shown them complete approximate 2 weeks after the death by now. She just had her hubby die so obviously she will cry for a month and as and when she remembers him.

Unlike many other shows, she is not the goofy happy go lucky heroine who has some small stupid poverty driven past to worry about. She is educated and well-off and lives a comfortable lifestyle.

I do want to call out something. By looking at the prostitute, we will all immediately come to the conclusion what that woman is but Zo didn't. She did not judge someone by their appearance and believes in goodness in people.

We will feel women should be portrayed as kick ass with high intelligence. She has proved she is resourceful and can handle the pressure of running a business. There is almost no one of such good nature alive these days which is why no one is able to relate to her. We all live in suspicion for everything including our neighbors today. Zo just is different.

Zoya's character is slowly improving I think that's how cvs are intending to portray her at the start she was shown weak and extremely naive but as the show goes on she will become stronger and gain confidence. Regarding Aditya, yes I agree his character is still far better than Zoya and he is not perfect but perfection doesn't exist he has his flaws but he is still the best character of the show and as a Male lead I am finding him better than some arrogant, dumb and spineless leads i have seen on Tv b4

I am sorry but from which angle is Zoya a poorly written character! She has so many layers to her, just b/c her first reaction to something is not anger doesn't make her poorly written.
I don't understand why people have such a huge problem with her crying. First off she lost her husband who she loved, AND IS STILL IN LOVE WITH. Zoya even today is still in love with Yash.
People have very different ways of expressing their grief and this is Zoya's way.

And I am sorry, but when have tears defined the strength of a character. Zoya has come such a long way from just the first episode! From being a princess who has never taken a decision for herself to actually taking a stand and going against her Abbu, which she has never done. Except when she got married to Yash.
She's here in Mumbai in a place she's never been, with people who don't like her and trying her best to save her husbands sinking company. Here she is making decisions and doing things she's never once done in her life. Taking leaps of faith, coming to terms with the reality of life and yada yada. There's so much that's already changed about Zoya and all people see are her tears?

And about the romance, I'm guessing this is your first cinevistaas show. Well they roll that way with romance and I don't have much to say about it.

Zoya is not weak.. She is blind in her husband's love also so much pampered by her parents, she is very naive. She married Yash as per her likes although much to her father's displeasure. But at the end of it, she was betrayed by him which she is not ready to accept. She is a young woman who recently lost her husband and constantly balancing her life amidst of hate by her in laws and Aditya's stunts. Despite all she is determined to put Yash's business back on track. Just because she is expressive about her pain unlike aditya, she is not weak. At least she is educated, comes from a rich background which are usually must for TV bahus..the way she is handling herself, Aditya and her cruel in Law's without losing hope, her character is commendable.

I think this will be her journey to learn to be strong in a hard way. She will probablyexperience some humiliation, betrayal and many down falls to realize that world is not a fairy princess diary where everyone is good and Love makes way to everything.
Tho i understand your point, i hate crying leads. It also gives me hard time to watch Jennifer do such roles after Maya. But story is like that we will have to wait.
