Chapter 5
He stared the moon afflicted..his eyes teary and legs dipped into the cold water of the pool..he heard that the moon always bring ecstasy with it...it lightens everything removing every ounce of darkness..then why can't it just swallow down the blemishes of his life..??
It always inspired the artist in him..it always evoked his urges to create something new..it helped him to get over the gloominess of his life..he himself doesn't remember how many times he just looked at the moon aimlessly to find some peace..but today when he is in a turmoil, even the moon whom he thought to be his friend of darkness, isn't able to provide him the peace he's looking for..the moon which stayed awake with him for nights, is seems to be leaving his side now..
Why can't he have someone in his life who would never leave him..not even in his toughest times of life..is it because he isn't worth it..?? Or is it because he isn't destined to be happy..?!
He never had a childhood..his father was busy sleeping with random women while his mother was drowning in alcohol..and he had a Rudra and Priyanka to take care of..he didn't even realise when his childhood passed and he became a man..how he wish to get back those days when he had a happy family..a family where his father loved his mother and cared for him and his siblings..he might hate his father for ruining his perfect family..but can he ever erase the truth that he, Tej Singh Oberoi is his father..some relationships are meant to haunt you for life..neither you can turn your face from it..nor you can carry out the burden of that meaningless relation..
He admits that he is a man with so many flaws..the flaws that makes him appear weak before everyone..he, sometimes regrets for not being a stronger person..only if he was, he would have protected his mother from falling into the trap of depression..he would have stopped his father from going back to that Svetlana again and again..
Letting out a sigh, he looked away from the moon and rested his gaze on the shimmering water of the pool trying to calm the hurricane of emotions running inside him..
"Kis khayaal mein khoye ho..?", Svetlana sat beside him wrapping her hands around his arm..
He jerked her hands away as if her touch pestered him.."Tum se matlab..??", he asked not trying to sound loud or rude...
"Tumse judi har cheez se aab sirf mujhe maltab honi chahiye..aur kyun tum bar bar bhul jate ho ki tum mujhse bhaag nehi sakte, Omkara..", she said running her fingers through his jaw..but his disgusted expression somehow made her feel rejected..once again the man is rejecting her..but this time she'll not allow him to ditch her and she knows exactly what to do..but she decided to wait for him to speak..
"Why are you here..??", he pushed her aside and stood up immediately..
"I'm here to remind you something..seems like you really forgot what you promised to me..", Svetlana tried to remind him something particular which she knows he remembers very well..
Again she is reminding him that he's trapped and cannot run away from her..another reason that makes him weak..but this time he'll not let her know that she successfully could intimidate him..he sighed trying to gather some courage to face her without any trace of fear in his face.."I remember everything..but you tell me what do you want from me at this time..?", he tried to sound as much normal he can..
"Mujhe kuch nehi chahiye, Omkara..chahiye toh tumhe..aur woh bhi mujhse..you want your mother's happiness which is currently relying on my hands..and if you try to act smart again, I'll do everything to destroy you and your family..", she smirked making him panicked.."Aur haan..mujhe mere sau crore chahiye..make sure I get them on time..", she said before leaving..
Omkara stood there alone engrossed with this thoughts again..he was proven to be a loser in his own eyes..why can't he do anything for himself as well as his mother..?? Why can't he just make his mother understand that her husband is not interested in her and she would not be loved by her husband even if he make sure Svetlana leave her husband..? Maybe he cannot see his mother breaking down again listening to the bitter truth..he's to selfish to hurt his mother..and thus he has to agree with every demand of Svetlana..but even if he marries Svetlana will his mother be happy with her husband..?? Will he be able to live with a woman who caused his mother pain and ruined him to the core..?? Will he ever be able to accept the marriage with Svetlana if she force him..??
And how can he even marry Svetlana when his heart knows he already married someone else much to her discordance..?? The woman he married in Bareilly, herself said she doesn't believe in the marriage..and he cannot think of her accepting their marriage after what he did to her..
He was regretting his decision..the decision of marrying Gauri..he married her against her will..had he asked her whether she wanted him in her life or not..?! No he never did.. Maybe he was unwanted in her life..maybe she hated him..how could not she..?? He never respected her..he never tried to understand her..he never payed a heed to her pleas..he just accused her for something she never did..he humiliated her..
But he swear on his God that he repents for his every word that hurted her..and he wants her condonation..he wants her to forgive him..but he's not daring enough to stand before her and ask for her forgiveness...he's not courageous enough to face her again..but somewhere in his heart he's praying to meet her for once again..just for once he wants to see her..he wants to say her how much guilty he is for wronging her...
"Kaash main sab kuch theek kar pata..", he pleaded for one chance and a tone tear escaped his eye...
Jo dard dilon ko pyaara ho
Woh dard dilon mein rehta hain
Keemat hain unn ansoon ki
Jo ankhon mein rehta hain..

Standing beside the window Gauri looked at the moon..it gave her hope and the assurance of a better life with the way it was shining..she is going to start a new life in Mumbai from tomorrow...and she has vowed to herself that she'll not look back to her past again..
"Aab se humari zindagi mein sab kuch sahi hoga..", she smiled wide waiting for the new phase of her life to start..
