In todays times when songs are coming and going without leaving any trace, I see people still humming aashiqui 2 songs even after 4 years . In cars, ola /uber cabs and sometimes in FM stations too. SunRaha hai is very popular.
The year was 2013, Mahesh Bhatt and Vishesh films who are known for their fantastic music sense had not been doing well previously.
But the Movie changed a lot of things. The first 100 crore for vishesh films
We got Arijit Singh as the new male playback singer. A new singing sensation was born.
Shradhha directly climbed up the ladder of success and whatever be the criticisms she is going strong.. Adiya Roy Kapoor became the lover boy,His other releases failed but he is still not out of public fan base. He is still offered prominent films. The film brought back the genre of romantic musicals. It was a good movie. Mukesh bhatt in the press con was telling how they understood the mood of the public and santised the film without any steamy scenes in it.

The Times of India rated the album 5 out of 5 stars and wrote, "Aashiqui 2 tries, and succeeds to some extent in matching the repeat-values freshness and allure of the original. And while it is unfair to compare a sequel to the original, it needs to be said that each should be seen for its own merit."
Koimoi rated the album 3 out of 5 and said, "Aashiqui 2 is an album that had set its heart in the right place and wanted to accomplish what Aashiqui did musically.
I would wait for next aashiqui installment and expect its music again to create a charm that previous aashiqui series have done.
