Irrfan Khan is one of the best talents in the Hindi film industry and his fans had been waiting to see him regale them in his next film Blackmail. He was all kicked about the trailer launch of the film, to take place on February 22. However, just a couple of days before that, he had to opt out of the event due to ill health. We next heard that he has jaundice and there were soon reports that the actor is suffering from something far more deadlier. Buzz was that the actor was battling brain cancer. However, he took to social media to share that he has a rare disease' and asked fans to not panic or speculate any further.

India.com spoke to a close associate of the Hindi Medium star and we learnt that the actor had been unwell since quite some time now. The source said, "You could sense a certain discomfort in his demeanor the past few months, Something was off, but Irrfan is such a witty person that he would always talk to everybody on the set or during the events and distract people. All you would then be left to think about his uneasiness is that perhaps the actor is a little under the weather, which is quite common given the busy schedules. There have been a few rare occasions when he cancelled a meeting but cited a personal commitment as the reason. If he knew what was the issue with his health, he did all in his might to not let the world around him know about it, revealed the source further sharing the actor's current health update.

"He is extremely unwell right now and is taking time off to undergo treatment. He will be maintaining a low profile and is going to be unreachable on the phone as well. In this testing phase, he is surrounded by his family and two of his closest friends, said the source.

Irrfan was all set to get on the sets of his next film, Vishal Bharadwaj's Sapna Didi which also stars his Piku co-star Deepika Padukone. The film is now postponed indefinitely since the team is now waiting for their male lead to get better and be in shape to return to work. He is also set to start work on the sequel of his 2017 hit Hindi Medium which is rumouredly stars Sara Ali Khan.
