Dear Friends,

Like many of you, I'm utterly shocked and trembling even as I type this. We lost a legend today , way too early, when she had just begun her second innings.

I still wish this is all hoax/rumor... but I can't escape the impermanence of life.

As some of you know, she was (can't believe I'm using past tense) my all time favorite actress. I grew up watching her movies. Stanned her for years... I connected with her acting so much. Her performances always resonated with me deep within. She could just do anything - so versatile - dance, drama, comedy, emotional, action etc.

There will never be another Sridevi. She literally was one of her kind. I think God wants some Chandni up there too... so she could train all those Apsaras on how to dance and entertain in the life after.

Finally, I will get to see her someday and ask her for an autograph.

THANK YOU for everything SRIDEVI! You entertained us like no other with your supreme unadulterated talent. Personally for me, Hindi cinema wouldn't be the same anymore. I waited for 15 years to see you back on screen with English Vinglish. I watched the movie 3 times in the theatre to gauge audience reaction. I felt so proud when people clapped for your climax speech and all the minutiae that you brought to your role. More recently, even in MOM you were so f**king brilliant... which I watched twice in theatres.

Friends, I know many of your share some similar feelings or more.

Let's celebrate her amazing cinematic journey in multiple languages in this thread. Share your favorite trysts with her, clips, images etc.

We truly lost a pan-India superstar today! 😭

One of HER BIGGEST STANs,

I am so shocked, she was my all time favorite, such brilliance in acting .
She was a true superstar and the first lady superstar

she at one point ruled Telgu , Tamil and Hindi cinema at the same time.

working from the age of 6 yrs, her movies with Kamal Hasan and Rajnikant were epic

cannot believe it

RIP

Oh IM, This made me cry! I feel so heartbroken for you, I hope you feel better, my friend. I remember watching Mr. India countless times in my childhood and being entertained by her dance and expressions in Hawa Hawai and her comic acting throughout the movie. She was always a full on entertainer along with a brilliant actress. Over the years, as I grew up, I didn't pay much attention to her older films. But, she once again made a comeback with english vinglish when I grew up. And at the time I was old enough to appreciate the little nuances in her acting that l had missed in my younger years. Her performance was so realistic and the subtle differences in her body language and her speech made her portrayal of Shashi absolutely amazing! I related so much with her fear of being in a foreign country with not a good handle in english, when she was agitated by the rude coffee shop worker, I also felt her pain. My god... I could go on and on about how much I adored her in that film. She is and always will be one of the greatest actress that bollywood has ever seen! She will be remembered in this generation and next, her name will be forever taken with greatest actors of the hindi film industry. May she rest in peace! 😭
