Gauri was sitting in the waiting Lobby of her gynecologist to confirm her suspicion.
How could she be pregnant? They weren't happy, they weren't husband and wife and their relationship was distatrous enough without a child involved. It was the worst timing yet...Gauri's hand caressed her flat stomach tenderly. Yet Gauri couldn't help the tiny ounce of happiness that filled her heart. A baby, her and Omkara's Baby. Something she had longed for ever since she had met him. Would a Baby change him? Would she finally understand his odd behavior? The reason why he became the man he was today?
"Mrs.Oberoi? The receptionist called and Gauri stood up to get all the needed tests done.
After what seemed like forever her Doctor came in and greeted Gauri with a smile.
"Congratulations you are pregnant Mrs. Oberoi. I would love to do an sonogram to determine the exact week and to see if everything is Okay. Dr. Verma, a very friendly and young Woman, said while her assistant prepared everything. Like a robot Gauri did as she was told and laid down on the gynecological chair and Dr.Verma soon showed her the baby on screen and that was the Moment it hit her. She was actually pregnant with Omkara's baby. The one Time they had given in God had blessed them with a child, something many people failed to manage.
"Is my baby okay? I have had a lot of stress and I don't want that to affect my baby. Gauri said scared and Dr. Verma smiled at her. "Everything looks Great Mrs.Oberoi. The Baby is exactly as big as it should be, everything is where It should be but if you are scared I can give you sick leave for Work and then you can rest for a few days at home.
Gauri nodded thankfully. " How far along am I? I didn't even realize I was pregnant.
Dr.Verma studied the screen and clicked on a few things while Gauri watched her.
"By the Looks of it you should be around 12 weeks. The nausea should stop in the coming week but it is normal that throughout the pregnancy you will experience dizzy spells and further Nausea. You should avoid raw fish and meat. My assistant will prepare you a list of Do's and Don'ts.
Gauri thanked her, got dressed and then left the doctors' office. She called a Cab and immediately drove Home. Once she reached she sat down finally realizing the fact that she was indeed Pregnant! That she had been pregnant for weeks without even noticing the changes in her Body. But now she felt it, her breasts were more sensitive and the nausea should have been alarming to her.
Gauri couldn't help the happy tears that escaped her eyes.
She would have a baby, a reason to live , a reason to be happy again.
And then it struck her once more- She had to tell him. What would he say?
Let's see what your father thinks about this surprise... maybe you will manage to bring him back to me..." Gauri whispered, caressing her abdomen.
