CHAPTER 26
ALL THE NAMES & PLACES ARE FICTITIOUS (if any resemblance to persons & places is purely coincidental). Any royal titles, MEDICAL PROCEDURES, MEDICAL TERMS, MILITARY PROCEDURES, MILITARY TERMS, Punjabi terms, architectural terms, IT terms & programs, office hierachy, wedding rituals, etc. are from my imagination hence THEY ARE NOT TRUE. Then Maan remembered something and stopped and went to the washroom with slamming the door shut leaving a disappointed and aroused Geet.
She didn't know what has she done wrong? Did Maan no longer find her attractive? Maybe he is just tired as he has been running around looking after her whole day since she returned from the hospital. Geet decided that she will talk to Maan once he is more relaxed. Currently she has to concentrate on her Harsh bhai-sa and Pari (bhabhi-sa).
Next day despite of Maan's cautioning, Geet decided to play a charade to find out about her brother and her friend, Pari's true feelings. Pari had come to KM to get Geet's signatures on some documents. Harsh, Geet and Pari were having tea together. Just then Geet said casually, "Bhai-sa, aaj humari Mami-sa se vrtalaap hui thee." (Bhai-sa, today I spoke to aunt.)
"Hmmm." Harsh said gazing at Pari intently whereas Pari was blushing under his gaze. Seeing the two lost in each others eyes, Geet dropped the bombshell, "Mami-sa ne aapka rishta Rajkumari Priyamvada se pakka har diya hai." (Aunt has finalised your match with Princess Priyamvada.)
"KYA?" (WHAT?) Yuvraj Harshvardhan thundered standing up.
Pari's tea cup fell in shock on the floor, she gathered all the signed papers and was leaving with tears in her eyes saying, "Mai abb chalti hoon Ma'am." (Ma'am I shall leave now.)
Once Pari left, Harshvardhan followed Pari giving some lame excuse to Geet. After few minutes, Geet also followed behind them. Luckily Geet didn't have to walk much as Harshvardhan and Pari were standing and arguing in centre of the courtyard. "Yuvraj, maine aap se pehle hi kaha thaa ki aapka aur mera koi taal-meil nahi magar aap nahi maane." (Crown Prince, I had mentioned earlier that there is no similarity and equality between you and me but you didn't listen to me.)
"Parineeta, aap vyrath chinta kar rahi hain. Hum kewal aapse prem karte hain."(Parineeta, you are worrying unnecessarily. I love only you.)
"Yuvraj prem karna ek baat hai aur usse nibhana dusari. Apne prem mein sarabor ho kar maine aapko poorn roop se apna pati maana thaa, tann, mann aur antar aatma se. Yadi aapko maloom thaa ki aapke parivaarwale mujhe nahi apnayenge toh aapne mujhe jhooti dilaasa kyun di. Maine shaadi se pehle aapke saath...mujhe kehte huye bhi shram aati hai." (Crown Prince, its easy to fall in love but difficult to standby it. Drenched in my love for you, I accepted you as my husband by my heart, body and soul. If you knew that your royal family will not accept me, then why did you play with my emotions? Before marriage I came with you...I'm even ashamed to mention it.) Saying this Pari broke down and started crying.
Meanwhile Maan returned home early and was feeling guilty about his behaviour with Geet! He entered their bedroom and was first surprised and then perturbed not to find Geet either in their room or the bed. He frantically ran down the corridor calling his grandmother and mother on the way while inspecting each and every room on the ground floor till he heard sound of raised voices. He ran in the direction of the courtyard. "Bhai-sa, aapne yeh durvyovahaar kaise meri saheli ke saath kiya?" (Bhai-sa, how could you behave in a such digusting manner with my friend?)
"Woh Gudiya...baat..." (Gudiya...it was...I mean...)
"Aapne kabhi socha hai aapki iss laparwahi ka kitna bhayankar parinaam ho sakta hai?" (Do you realise what serious consequences can be of your this irresponsible behaviour?) Geet thundered holding a crying Pari.
"Woh...Raj...hum..." (Raj...I was...)
"Aapko maloom hai ki Pari ki kok mein shayad ek naya jeevan pal raha hoga?" (Do you realise that Pari could be having a life growing in her womb?) Making Pari touch her still flat abdomen.
"KYA?" (WHAT?)
"GEET YEH KYA HO RAHA HAI?" (WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?) Maan thundered surprising Harsh and Pari as they had for first time seen an angry Maan, no angry MAAN SINGH KHURANA.
"Aap apne pyaare saale sahab se poochiye." (Please ask your dear brother-in-law.) Geet gave a glare to Harshvardhan and replied in anger.
Then she took Pari with her to triplet's room.
After half an hour, Maan and Harshvardhan came to triplet's room where Geet was lying on the bed smiling. Whereas Pari was also looking contended making both Maan and Harshvardhan relaxed. Maan said, "Aaj sham ko sade chaar baje Harsh aur Pari ki marriage register ho jaayegi aur uske baad Dadimaa, panditji se mahurath nikalwa kar vidhivaat shadi kara dengi. Abb tum relax karo, Geet." (Today evening at 4:30p.m., Harsh and Pari will have a registered marriage, after that Dadimaa will ask the priest to take out a auspicious time for their religious wedding. Now you please relax Geet!)
Geet nodded and said firmly, "Bhai-sa, ek baar aapki shaadi registered ho jaaye to Mama-sa aur Mami-sa ko bata dijiye jiss se woh aapke vivaah mein bhaag le saken. Bhulayega matt!" (Bhai-sa, once you are legally married please call Aunt and Uncle so they can attend your religious wedding. Don't Forget!) Harshvardhan nodded sheepishly. Whereas Geet hugged Pari saying, "Bhabhi-sa!" Pari blushed scarlet.
Maharani Sulochana was ecstatic when she heard of Yuvraj Harvardhan's upcoming wedding but Maharaj Krishandev was furious as expected. Hence Maharaj and Maharani would not attend the wedding. After Harshvardhan called off from talking to his mother, he went near Savitri Devi and said, "Dadimaa, hummein aapse do karyon ke liye anumati chahiye." (Dadimaa, we need your approval for two things.) Savitri Devi nodded for Harshvardhan to continue. "Dadimaa, ek baar Raj ki tabiyat sambhal jaaye toh kya woh Krishandev Nagar "pag pheron" ki rasam ke liye aa sakti hai. Aur dusara Raj ka Vijaygarh ki Maharani ke roop mein kab "raj abhishek" ho sakta hai?" (Once Raj's health stabilises, can she came to Krishandev Nagar for the ceremony of "pag phera? And second when can Raj's coronation as the Queen of Vijaygarh be done?) Savitri Devi said, "Beta Harshvardhan hum Doctor se pooch kar aapko batta denge." (Harshvardhan, I'll have to talk to doctor and then I'll let you know.) A week later Yuvraj Harvardhan and Rajkumari Parineeta left for Krishandev Nagar.
Time started passing and it was three months of Geet's bedrest was over. She went for her check up, Dr. Raghupathi was very happy with her progress! Doctor said, "Gayatri you can now walk for about an hour in a day; stand for 15mins. at a time; and you can sit for an hour?"
"Can I cook?"
"Yes! But how will you cook with one hand. Anyway if you can cook with one hand, please do not lift heavy utensils i.e. Pressure cooker, tava, kadhai etc. However, NO CLIMBING STAIRS, SLEEP with feet RAISED and ABSOLUTELY NO STRESS as I had stated before as well!" Looking at Maan, Dr. Raghupathi said, "Also as I had said before no physical intimacy between you both Maan !"
"Yes doctor! I am keeping that in mind!" Maan said. Geet always felt Maan to be a perfect life-partner for her except that one time during the begining of their relationship, but today she has experienced it! Geet had started feeling a little insecure with herself as Maan was avoiding come close to her. Geet felt that maybe she could not satisfy Maan's needs and thats why he has not come close to her since she has arrived to KM from hospital! However, Geet and Maan were overjoyed to hear the news and slight relaxing of rules! Once they reached home, triplets refused to leave them as they had started becoming very insecure after Geet's attack and her being away for two weeks from them in hospital. So finally when Maan and Geet we)re alone, Geet went to Maan, who had just changed his night dress. She hugged him from behind and started crying softly. At first Maan felt that maybe Geet is feeling low but when his vest was being damp with her tears he turned her around and said,"Kya hua Geet? Tum ro kyun rahi ho!" (What happened Geet? Why are you crying?)

"Aap bahut acche hain! Aap itne acche kyun hain, Maan? (Courtsey: GHSP) Aap hummein maaf kar dijiye ki humne aap par shaq kiya!" (Please forgive me for suspecting you!)
"Kaisa shaq?" (What suspicion?)
"Hummei lagaa ki humara pyaar aap ke liye kaafi nahi iss liye aap humse ubb (bored) gaye hain! Aur humse door door rehte hain!" (I felt that I cannot satisy you and thats why you have got bored of me. Hence, you are staying away from me!)
"KYA? I wish you would have seen the number of cold showers I have taken in past two months! Mera bass chale toh mai aaj aur abhi tumhe... Magar woh tumhare aur humare baby ki sehat ke liye theek nahi hoga!" (If I had my way I would today and just now take you... But it won't be right for you and our baby!)
Maan picked up Geet and made her lie on the bed, nibbling her lips slightly then tenderly kissing her eye-brows, eyes, cheeks and nibbling her lips and at base of her neck! Maan gathered Geet in his arms and both tried calming their raging desires and after sometime went to sleep! Maan and Geet were now secure in each other's presence. Both were very thankful to the Almighty for getting one another. Their relationship which had started with a tug-a-war between ego (abhimaan) of one person and self respect (swabhimaan) for another has finally culminated in eternal love, trust, faith and peace of both.

I know my style of writing is neither fast nor steamy which is the trend of today's generation.
