Akki is not playing a South Indian, they changed the character to North Indian

P.S. I personally have no problem with the movie and Akki playing the role and changing the character of South Indian to a North Indian... But I hope they atleast mention Muraganantham and thank him (with his pic) properly during the credits

but isnt this normal, in BW, Even with the Sairaat remake, the background of the story is changed to Rajasthan from Maharashtra. When I was discussing it in another thread, I was told that Whole of India won't relate to Maharashtrian background, hence it has to be changed. Don't even know what that means, when Maharashtra is in India, why wont other indians relate to it, when Maharashtrians always relate to movies based in UP, MP, Punjab etc.

The problem is not the actor's background, he / she can be from any part of India. Problem is the character's background has to from North India for it to appeal. Not most Characters are from other backgrounds IMO. We rarely see The hero as a Marathi, or a South Indian, or a Bengali background. Mostly, they are Punjabi's or from UP, MP, etc. Apparently, they have more mass appeal.
