Marrying The Enemy (7 Parts Complete)

Neil put his arms around Avni's waist, his chin resting on her shoulder, nose in her hair, taking in Avni's scent. It was finally a new start for the both of them.
Somewhere new, an opportunity to love the way they want to.

"Good morning" Avni muttered
"A good morning it is" Avni reached her hand up to stroke his stubble.
It was nice for once to just wake up and spend time in eachothers arms rather than the constant morning rush.

"Have you met that woman who is going to help you with the wedding preparations"
She shook her head "Not yet, but later"
Neil nodded "We can just stay inside all day "
His hand lifted pushing his shirt off of her shoulder

"Youre insatiable I have things to do"
He groaned loudly and pulled back
"You never have any time for me anymore Avni and its breaking my heart, I should be number one"
"You are number one, stop being such a child"

His jaw dropped "Child, me"?
"Yes, you, now come on out of my way I need to get changed"
"No you dont"
Neil sat on the bed, his brows wriggling and he tapped the space next to him

Avni rolled her eyes and walked past him
"Youre so rude, I should have just"
He stopped as he heard Avni vommiting in the bathroom
Walking in he held her hair back, rubbing her back

She pulled herself up and wiped her mouth
Neil put his hand on her forehead "Are you unwell, we need to go and see a doctor, come on"
"No Neil, im fine I must have just ate something funny"

Neil raised his brow "You sure, because we ate the same thing"
"Yes Neil" shoving his shoulders so he was out of the bathroom, she shut the door, leaning against it she inhaled sharply

She lifted the pregnancy test out from underneath the sink and looked at it, her hands shaking
Was she even ready for a child?

She looked at the clock then at the test, turning it over she saw 2 sharp red lines facing her.
"Im pregnant" she muttered
Before falling to the floor, she rested her head in her hands

Neil sat outside of the bathroom, his head swarming with multiple thoughts.


2 high heeled shoes landed on the floor after stepping off the escalator, the woman picked up her phone.
"Yeah I need a taxi, and quickly I cant miss my best friends wedding"

Pulling off her sunglasses she looked into the glass of the mirror infront of her
Her brown eyes lit up as she smiled
Her thumb traced over the call button for Neev's number.

Shoving her phone back in her bag, she pulled her suitcase over with her
Standing outside, a taxi driver walked over to her
"Naina" he asked
"Thats me" she replied

Avni came out, her make up on, fully dressed "Why do you wear all this make up, youre beautiful without it, who do you need to impress, I am already impressed"

"I dont wear make up to impress people, it makes me feel good, ive got to go, but ill be back soon"
Kissing his cheek, she twisted to walk away but he grabbed her wrist
"Where are you going"
"To see Neev"

"Then let me come with"
Avni had already slammed the door
"Miss Ajooba, where are you really going" he asked himself before slipping some shoes on and following her

Avni saw Neil's car in her front mirror "Damn man worked as a spy for how long and cant even follow me properly"
She called him
"Hello, you shouldnt be on the phone when driving " he quipped
"Hands free, why are you following me"

"You left in such a haste, it concerned me Avni"
"Im not a child, stop concerning yourself with my issues" she bit back and cut the phone
Neil pulled the car over on the side of the road, it was very unlike Avni to speak to him this way.

Maybe she was pressured by the wedding or maybe she just didnt want to marry him anymore. Banging his hands on the steering wheel he swore under his breath.

Avni arrived at the hospital and ran out of her car, she needed to ensure her test was correct.
She sat in the waiting room, tapping her feet and wringing her hands

Avni looked up at the doctor who beckoned her forward.
After the tests had been done, she sat in the doctors office anxiously
"Congratulations, youre pregnant"

Standing up she whispered a thank you and walked out of the room. She felt as if the words became louder in her head and she felt dizzy, she was a woman many people were looking for, a killer at times, a trained fighter, how could she be a mother

There was only one person who would understand her plight, Naina. Knowing her grave was only a short walk away she walked as fast as she could and fell to her knees infront of the grave stone.

"Naina, im pregnant and I have no idea what to do, do I keep it, do I tell Neil, im so confused" she breathed deeply "No, I cant hide it from him, I will tell him, if you were here you'd tell me to stop being so melodramatic and to be happy for once, and thats exactly what I will do"

Her hand went to her stomach as she stood up
"Neil can you meet me at the graveyard"
Neil looked down at his phone, had he missed Naina's death anniversary ?

Rushing over there he jumped out of his car to a crying Avni
"Avni, whats wrong has someone hurt you"
"These are happy tears, Neil youre gonna be a dad, im pregnant"
"Really, youre telling the truth"
She nodded happily

Neil picked her up, spinning her around, then putting her down he kissed all over her face "You've made me the happiest man I could ever be today, but why tell me about a baby coming into the world when we are stood in a place where people are buried when they die"


"Because I couldnt wait to tell you, stop bullying me"
Neil nudged her "I knew you were getting fat"
Avni slipped her shoe off and held it in her hand
"Im going to hit you if you insult me one more time"
He winked
"Oooh hit me baby one more time"

Slapping him with her shoe she huffed "Youre no Britney Spears"
He gasped "Thats just rude"
He trailed after her as she stormed away

Naina stood behind them, smiling
Placing a rose on her grave stone she stood back up

So Avni is going to be a mum and Neil a dad! How exciting!

Did you guys see the picture of Mishri with the producer, I think and she had ropes on her arms, im so glad she is coming back!

"Ma" Naina muttered, her mum screamed then smiled
The bags under her eyes were a lot darker then she remembered
"Hello, do you have money for" she wriggled her brows and continued to scratch her arms till they bled

"Ma, I cant give you money, please let me help you" she raised her hand and slapped her across the face "Youre just like your father, you never cared about me"
She went to walk away then stopped
"It would have been better if you had actually died then to keep giving me pain like this"

Naina bit back a sob, she sighed heavily and went to walk away.
Her father had destroyed her mother, but she wouldn't let her mother destroy her, she had to be the change in the family.

Neil and Avni arrived home and Avni sat on the bed "We can stay in now if you like" she winked
He nodded "Let me just use the toilet"
So he rushed as fast as he could

But when he returned the even rise of her chest let him know she was asleep
"Avni, Avni" he shook her shoulder
"What do you want"
"You said we could yanno, you're so lazy"

"Insult me one more time and I will make sure this is the last child you father"
He sniffed "Always after my manhood, what about my dreams for a cricket team"
"What manhood" she bit back
"Cricket team, you'll be lucky to get 2 children, now be quiet and massage my feet"

"Youre so bossy Avni, if this is how the next 9 months will be then I dunno if I can do it"
Her eyes shot open "You are not leaving me to have this child alone"
"Yeah yeah, whatever you say, but all youre doing is sleeping and im bored"


"You're gonna get a lot more bored, did you know sex isnt good for the baby"
He gasped "Youre lying"
She tried to hold back her laughter "No its the honest truth"
Her fingers crossed behind her back
Neil pouted and massaged her feet

What a great start to married life this would be.
