So sorry its been late!

Avni stood with the wedding designer, so far she had been shown about 50 different shades of pink and 55 different shades of white
"I heard you wore white when you're a virgin, I am pregnant so clearly I am not" Avni muttered

Layla turned around swiftly "Lets not make comments on things you do not understand, this is my area of expertise"
Naina watched from afar as Avni rested her chin on her hands and huffed

Her fingers stroked the eggshell coloured dress with the lace embroidery on the top and a low neckline, this was the one Avni would like, she knew it! Picking up the dress she waited till Layla walked away and then strode over to her

"Here, what about this one"
Avni held out her hand but wouldn't look up
"Hey Avni" Naina whispered
Avni looked up, her jaw dropping
"Naina" Avni said, stepping back and faltering into a side
"Hey be careful"

"What kind of sick joke is this, you're dead" Avni spluttered
"Avni, listen to me, when you thought I got burnt, I didnt, I managed to get away at the very last minute"
"How can I believe this is you"

Naina gasped "I should be getting all the credit for getting you and Neil together, I knew you liked him "
Avni smiled through her tears and hugged Naina "I cant believe its you, ive missed you so much, hey you're gonna be an aunt"

Naina nodded "I know, I heard you at the graveyard"
Avni wiped her eyes and hit Naina's shoulder "idiot why didnt you come earlier"
"I didnt want to destroy the moment, now please try on the dress"

Avni agreed and went to change, Naina looked up to see Avni, "You look beautiful, may you always be happy"
Naina turned to see Neil parking
"Avni, quick go change"
"Why"
"Neil is outside, now goo"

Avni ran in to get changed, "uh Avni I think hes got his family with him"
Avni pulled the curtain back "what, no he hasn't "
Naina smiled at Neil who widened his eyes "Naina, how are you, how did you"

"Ill explain later, its so good to see you"
"Thought you said her name is Avni, how many women do you have tillu" asked Shweta
"Mum, this is Naina, Avni's best friend"
Shweta smiled and hugged Naina

Avni walked out, Neil walked over to her and kissed her cheek "Sorry I couldnt warn you" Neil whispered
"Youll pay for this later" muttered Avni who then smiled sweetly at him, he gulped, Avni was never one to be tested

"So this is the great Avni we have heard all about" Shweta said "Are you with my son for money"
Avni shook her head "No of course not, I love him"
Shweta smiled "Good, my name is Shweta but you can call me Queen"

"Queen" Avni repeated, flustered
"Mum please" Neil said, slapping his forehead
"I need to ensure she deserves the Khanna name"
"Actually Shweta" Shweta glared
"I mean Queen" Avni corrected "I was going to keep my own last name"
Neil looked at Avni "Dont remember you talking to me about this"
"It isnt your choice" Avni replied bitterly

She was scared after how much Neil's father hated her, that Neil's family would too, Neil linked his fingers through hers
"Its okay Avni, they will love you "
"They" Avni hiccupped
Bebe stood forward

"Avni, let me look at you properly"
Avni stood forward, taking Shweta and Bebe's blessings
"You're beautiful, perfect for my Tillu, but you have not passed the test"
Neil shook his head "Bebe please not the test"
Avni's face paled "What test" she looked around at everyone who had a mischievous smile on their lips and Neil who looked even paler than her

"The test of love" Shweta said, her hands on her hips
Naina went to creep away but Shweta grabbed her hand "Not so fast girl, you're a part of this to"
"Me" she squeaked
"Of course, if Avni fails, you must be Tillu's bride"

"Hey" Avni said "I will pass this test"
Bebe and Shweta giggled, high fiving eachother secretly

Neil huffed "Mum is this really necessary"
"Shush, who is the adult here" Shweta reprimanded
"Uh, everyone in this room" Neil replied cheekily
Avni looked down at the green sari she was now wearing, she went to step forward but tripped over her own feet and fell into Neil

"Always falling for me aren't you"
Avni ignored his comment and stood up, she hated saris, always more comfortable in jeans and a top, she wondered how some women wore this all day
"So I have gathered you here today to see if Avni can pass the test of love" said Bebe loudly

Naina played a gong sound on her phone for affects and cheered, Shweta smiled at her
"The whole damn family is crazy, you sure you wanna marry into this" whispered Naina
"Im having second thoughts" Avni reassured
Neil glared at Avni who smiled sweetly at him and blew him a kiss

"Avni will not do this test, why is it that women must always pass a test, why not men" Neil said sternly, pushing his test out
He looked around to see who was supporting him, but Avni and Naina looked down awkwardly and Bebe and Shweta just glared at him
"Alright, ill just keep my mouth shut" he muttered and sat back down

"Avni, your test today, is do you know the man you are marrying"
Naina played a dramatic tune on her phone and Avni gulped
Shweta walked around Avni slowly "Is the man you are marrying, the man you think or is he"
She stopped and stood infront of Avni "even better" she laughed loudly then her face turned stern again

"5 questions, if you get them all correct, you can marry our Tillu" said Bebe
Avni was nervous, sitting next to Neil, she felt his hand on her leg for support
"Question 1"
Bebe held a torch under her face while Shweta turned the lights out

"What made our Tillu fall in love with you"
She knew the answer, but right now her mind was blank
"Uh because I kept challenging him"
"Correcttt" shouted Shweta
How did they even know that? She looked to Neil who looked just as oblivious as her

"Question 2, when Tillu is sad, what does he do"
"Uh he cries or gets over protective " Avni said, unsure of the answer herself
She watched Shweta and Bebe whisper to eachother then look between her and Neil
"Yeah okay, we will let you have that one "

"Question 3, what do you love about our Tillu"
Avni's eyes widened, how could she ensure the answer to the question was correct, "Hes caring, makes me laugh and treats me better than anyone else"
Neil squeezed her hand and smiled
Shweta ran over and squeezed both of their cheeks making them bang heads

"Correct, question 4 why arent you taking Neil's last name"
Other than the fact his last name was her father's enemies last name, she wasnt sure what to say
"As a woman, I feel that we shouldnt have to take our husbands last name, I mean, why doesnt he take mine"

Shweta and Bebe nodded "Yeah, we should have done that, girl power" she screeched
Naina laughed "Who run the world"
"Girls " Bebe and Shweta cheered
"You have been holding your ground well Shavni"
"Uh its Avni"
Shweta glared and Avni paled and huddled closer to Neil

"Question 5, the last question" Bebe held up her hand and wiggled her fingers and thumb
"Will you accept this family as your own"
Avni was taken back by the question, she thought she wouldnt be accepted but it seemed the family wanted her.
She nodded happily

"We shall return tomorrow for the verdict " Bebe said, slamming her papers on the table like a high court judge
"What is this a court hearing" asked Avni
Neil just shrugged and watched Shweta and Bebe walk away

Sorry its so late! Im hoping this chapter will make up for my delays in updating, also When Opposites Collide, has been updated!

Avni folded the sari and sat on the bed "When are you going to tell Naina that you are her half brother"
"Im not sure, its not something I can just drop into conversation"
Avni nodded "I guess not, Neev doesnt even know she is alive yet, for how long will he have to wait"

"Ill call him tomorrow and invite him round, then we can talk about what we have all missed, that okay"
"Yeah okay, thats a good plan"
"Youre so bossy Avni"
"If you wouldnt act like such an impudent child all the time, we wouldnt have this issue"

"Ouch Avni"
She smiled "Sorry, im just grouchy because im worried your family wont like me"
Neil shuffled closer to her and put his arm around her shoulders "Whats not to like"
"Thats easy for you to say, but I made you kill your father, my father was his enemy"

"Avni, I made that choice for our betterment, he was to involved in his rivalry and hatred to ever see past it, my family know that, you have to stop being your own worst enemy and doubting us"
He cupped her face "I love you Avni, more than I thought I would ever be capable of loving anyone and I will do anything to keep you safe, so please Avni, stop doing this"

"I just, I dont understand how I got someone so good, even now its unbelievable to me that you picked me, that you love me as much as I love you, I will never feel worthy of your love"
"But you are worthy, you always will be, theres no one else I want to spend my life with Avni, theres no me without you"

Avni smiled, leaning in to kiss Neil she jumped as she heard a crash outside the room
"Shweta now they're going to know we're listening " shouted Bebe
Avni giggled as Neil pulled the door open
Shweta and Bebe looked guilty as sin

"Tillu, youve picked the right girl, and you both have our blessings, now get some sleep" said Shweta and then they walked away
"Seee, simple"

The next morning Naina, Neil and Avni sat around the coffee table
"Hey Avni, do I look okay, im so nervous "
"You look beautiful "
Neev walked in, whistling, he dropped his phone and it clattered to the floor when Naina stood up
"Ghost" he shouted

Naina shook her head "I escaped, im really here"
"I, you, I" Neev couldnt make a sentence, running forward he grabbed Naina and held her to him tightly
"I love you" Neev whispered
Naina smiled joyfully "I love you to"

"There is one last revelation" said Neil
Naina and Neev turned to face him, curious of what else was hidden
"Your father was my father to, Avni found out and got kidnapped by him, but when he returned to split us up after the organisation found out about us, I killed him"

Naina dropped into the seat behind her "So we're free"
Neil nodded
Naina put her head in her hands, tears running down her face at finally being free from the man who had made her life a living hell
Neev wiped her tears, pulled her up and kissed her cheek

"Avni is like a sister to me, so I was going to address you as my brother in law, but it seems bhai will do"
Neil and Naina hugged, finally things were sorted between the four and they could finally be happy

Avni led down opening one eye slowly, she opened the other and tapped Neil's shoulder "Hey, wake up" he groaned loudly "unless you're having that baby dont wake me up, its" he sat up looking at the clock 4AM IN THE MORNING " Avni put her hand over his mouth "shh you'll wake everyone up"

Neil moved away from her "so its okay to wake me up but no one else" she nodded
"Anyway, im bored"
Neil put the pillow over his face "its 4am Avni, go to sleep"
"Some kind of husband you are, I could be in a lot of pain"
"Are you in pain Avni"

"No"
"Well then go to sleep"
Neil knew Avni was crying, these hormones had really been messing with Avni and the slightest thing made her sad
"Hey Avni dont cry"
He went to pull her to him but she turned on her side, facing away from him
"Avni, dont be like that, im just tired, whats wrong"

Avni sniffed "Say you're sorry" Neil rolled his eyes "im sorry"
Avni turned to him smiling, all signs of sadness gone "so what shall we talk about " she asked, her eyes shining with joy, although tired Neil couldnt help but be greatful that Avni was happy and his.
It was at times like this he realised how happy he was and how lucky.

Tucking his arm around her waist he picked her up and sat her in the middle of his legs "well, if we have a girl we will surely call her Ayesha"
Avni froze, looking back at him, how had she been so lucky, she grabbed his hand and pressed a kiss to his palm

"And if its a boy" Neil smiled "Neil junior "
"Im not calling our son Neil Junior "
"Why not, Neil is an amazing name, anyone would be lucky to have that as a name" he buffed out his chest in pride
Avni shook her head "Ill have a think "
Neil was stroking Avni's hair and laughed

Looking down he noticed she had fallen asleep, kissing her hair he closed his eyes.

Avni was nervous, turning around to Naina " what if he changes his mind"
Naina laughed "You think after everything you guys have been through that he will change his mind now, come on, you're gonna be parents"
Avni looked down at her red lengha and inhaled heavily

"You look beautiful" Naina cupped her cheeks "Now come on, your to be hubby awaits you"
Naina took Avni down the stairs and towards Neil and sat her down
Shweta tied them both together and Neil squeezed Avni's hand

Naina stealthily stole Neil's shoes and stepped backwards, running to hide them
After the wedding was over, Naina shouted out "You can now kiss the bride"
Neil shrugged "Not like I havent done that and more"
Avni slapped his shoulder "Neil everyone is watching"
"So, I couldnt dissapoint" grabbing her by the waist he kissed her and the family members cheered

Neil looked around for his shoes, he raised his brow and Naina giggled
"I know this usually comes from the brides side of the family, but Avni is like a sister to me"
Neil shook his head "I see how it is, so Avni is more your sister than I am your brother"

Naina had already explained the situation to Bebe and Shweta, happy to finally be able to move on.
"Well, I have two jobs to do, im a part of both families, so" she held out her hand "money please"
Neil laughed, passing her an envelope, she furrowed her brows and opened it

'After our father's death, he left all of his property to me, so I have halved it and hope you know you're part of the family, you always will be' Naina's eyes teared up at Neil's written words, she looked at the legal papers and hugged Neil
"Thank you for giving me a place to belong"

Shweta hugged Naina and then Avni "and from now on, both of you address me as your mother, I wont take no for an answer"
Finally Avni had a family of her own, and so did Naina
Neev grabbed Naina's hand and lowered down on his knee

"There doesnt seem to be a better day to do this, but will you"
"Yes" Naina screamed jumping on Neev
Avni shook her head "Youre meant to wait till he finishes answering his question, impatient"
Neev and Naina laughed
Neil lifted Avni and carried her up the stairs

"I know tonight is meant to be our suhaag raat, but it seems we've already done all that, so tonight, if its okay with you, I just want to lie with my wife"
Avni smiled, kissing his cheek "thats more than okay"

5 years later-

"Ayesha please, shush" Neil said for what felt like the hundredth time
Avni giggled at Ayesha holding her shoe up to Neil "Nope, not until you say my mamma is the best"
Neil picked Ayesha up "But baby im the best"

Ayesha threw her shoe on Neil's nose and jumped down from his arms
Running to Avni she hid behind her legs
Neil rubbed his nose "Like mother like daughter, the day we found out about little Ayesha you did the same thing"

Avni smiled "Ayesha say sorry "
She shook her head "not until he says you're the best"
Avni laughed again
Neil muttered out a "Avni is the best" and Ayesha cheered
Neil picked Ayesha up and kissed her cheek, she rubbed his nose

"Sorry papa"
Neil shrugged "its okay, im used to getting beaten up by the two girls in my life"
Avni laughed again and kissed his cheek "we both love you dont be so over dramatic"
Neil tucked his other arm around Avni's waist "I love you both to"

So 40 chapters altogether, thank you to all of the people who started this journey with me and have stayed till the end!
