I added few more names

And Sapna Didi was meant to release on Gandhi Jayanti and class with Sui Dhaaga but later got told it's delayed and no further comments came from makers. And highly unlikely it will be made this year

Updated.

Hmmm... well the year is still young and she is sitting at home twiddling thumbs right now. Vishal is taking over the directorial baton (the original director had issues 😛)... even if they start filming in April, they could sneak in before the end of the year.

This won't be a big budget film given its theme. Let's see.

Well who knows? They may surprise you. It's only Dhadak I feel which will be shoved down our throats. Ananya seems most promising from all if we just go by looks and how they carry themselves. Thought SOTY 2 seems like a horrible idea. Hopefully a good actor tho. I'd feel bad for Banita Sandhu despite impressing the critics she may lose her debut award to these 3

Well we have no option other than see them get their fair chance. Janhvi will be trolled. Take it from me. Surpassing Momma is a herculean task in this lifetime. #BigB-SmallB returns

Ananya might strike... but anything with SOTY is just a bad launch, given the first one was no Sound of Music... but whatever it will make money with Tiger.

Banita has chance... Shoojit is pretty reliable and she may endear. There are many awards including the glamour ones for all these debutants. Sab ko kuch mil hi jaayega 😃

Anupama with Sucharita and Rahul commenting on GG etc... meh. I've better conversations with my friends about movies. 😆 Plus I watch more than these 3... which was a comforting revelation. 😲 For some reason, their knowledge of Hollywood cinema was rather superficial (granted they didn't watch many movies this year)... but I was expecting them to give their thoughts on the GG winners. (ex. Any shor sharaba on Del Toro and Alexandre Desplat over Chris Nolan and Hans Zimmer for instance??)

I do like what Film Companion is doing though.

Didn't expect much from their GG reaction and opinions. They come across as wannabes when they judge american awards. Or Hollywood in general.

I couldn't get myself to accept how these wannabes were comparing 90's Filmfare winners to nowadays. I mean they are calling recent years winner (specifically filmfare) undeserving where as they are happy to admit that SRK/Kajol deserve all them awards for their shitty films. Come on DTPH, KKHH, KNPH used to win best films, at least in recent years we had Queen, BMB, Barfi, ZNMD winning over big blockbusters. That's when I decided to not watch FC reviews from now onwards.

Jitesh wouldn't like what they said. 😆 Filmfare still is better than the others around... they went a bit crazy in their early-mid 2000s phase with power awards, special awards and anniversary awards blah blah...🥱. but now seem to have curbed a bit.

While every award out there can be questioned, I still find Filmfare a bit dodgy primarily because of that editor Jitesh. He's one whiny character. Did you hear him at the Short Film awards announcement today? I couldn't bear to listen to him and wonder what kind of conversation he has with the celebrities. 🤪

You can see his nominations list is always like an invite list... some mediocre mentions just for the heck of it over some really deserving ones. In the end, they have to sell tickets and show to TV, so a lot of compromises.

But given how 2017 turned out, most of the ceremonies have no option other than applauding the small movies this year...else the bias will be very OBVIOUS.
