Paying the price for responsibility

Too many powerful moments to count today but I'd like to make a note of the ones that especially stood out to me

1) Shivaay saying that he was willing to give his life for the promise he gave to Jhanvi, leaving the house is but a small price...this, after he was initially shocked to hear her ask this of him...but willing to reconcile to it even then...even getting up to start walking away...until Tej's critical condition made him turn back again.

2) Rudy's constant interjections asking his Mom to stop, telling her it's not Shivaay's fault, but Svetlana's, but she was beyond reason...even after Daadi pointed out that she's gone mad.

3) The way Shivaay would rush to stop Rudy each time from blowing up at Jhanvi...putting his hand on Rudy's shoulder to calm him down...the pain in Shivaay's body language here as he could feel everything falling apart, barely hanging on by a thread, his growing worry for Rudra too hanging on by a thread, about to explode

4) Shivaay pleading with Jhanvi to let him see Tej one last time but Jhanvi continued to act more ruthless in her pain...Rudy growing more and more agitated by the minute over her treatment of Shivaay and Shivaay still trying to calm Rudy down

5) Pinky's anguish...what a moment...I must say Nitika Anand OWNS this character so brilliantly and she proves it time and again...this is the Pinky who's done many terrible things in the course of this story and yet she's the one I felt worse for today than Jhanvi...that's the power of a great actor...the way she pleaded to Shivaay to not listen to anyone asking him to leave, berating him for doing so much for this family all these years, treating his Badi Mom like his own Mom and then getting this in return...Pinky's anguish there was really heartfelt...

Also noteworthy was the near trance Shivaay was in...grappling with the reality of now having to leave, even as he is given pause by all the infighting that has now broken out in the family...

The togetherness of this family has always been a mirage only held together by the thread known as "Main Sab Theek Kar Dunga" Shivaay Singh Oberoi...today we got to see the "elders" of this family (a.k.a Jhanvi) act like children who were denied their fav. toy so they demand that no one show them their faces until that fav. toy is produced.

The way she berated Shivaay and taunted him that he always promised that he would fix everything so THIS is how he has fixed everything today? The way she blasted him for not fixing things this time so now he must leave? LOL and what a watershed moment it was then for Shivaay...he had to face the possibility for the first time in his life of NOT being able to eventually fix everything...that has been the only running faith in his life...that he will find a way to protect his family, keep them from harm...he has done terrible things to keep his family from harm...but still ultimately managed to succeed...today he faced that ultimate failure...but more than the failure, it was the PRICE of that failure that was striking.

For here was the family he did everything for, now demanding their pound of flesh for his failure of not living up to their expectations...and so Shivaay reaches a stage in life where he has to learn some lessons, face some home truths:

1) Putting all responsibility on a single person is never a long term successful plan no matter how capable you consider yourself alone of handling all problems in this world

2) Nurturing impossible expectations of you from your family only leaves them SPOILT and incapable of dealing with reality which will consist of failures many times...here's a family that was more than happy to give you credit for fixing things all these years but will be the first to throw you out if you can't fix things

I see a lot of ppl saying this track is moot cuz the premise of the blackmail is silly. I would have to disagree...the blackmail is hardly the point of this track...the larger issue is something else...this is about exposing the underlying rifts that have long existed in this family...Ppl have blamed a Pinky alone all this time for being the one sowing bitterness in the family...but today we have a Jhanvi who proved that she was always weak-minded, insecure, and quite willing to throw Shivaay under the bus if he didn't fix things.

I see no one else in the family stepping up to take responsibility...it's oh so much easier to scapegoat the only guy who's taken responsibility all these years...and that is an interesting premise to watch unfold...the blackmail is not even the point.

And finally coming to the last Shivaay-Rudra scene which so palpably depicted that feeling of the walls crumbling around the brothers...three bodies, one soul feeling torn apart by forces beyond their control and trying desperately to hang on in their own ways...that was Rudra today...desperately making a final plea to Shivaay while Shivaay was trying to keep his composure, even though he could see the upcoming consequences...but ultimately cornered by his own promises, his own characteristics...admitting defeat for not being able to handle things so now having to pay the price.

The reason Shivaay has to pay this price is because he still takes the onus and burden of responsibility, even while going down in defeat...and the irony is that some ppl in the family like Tej and Jhanvi so ruthlessly DEMAND that price of him...but he will pay it gladly...because that is who Shivaay is.

Tremendous performances from the cast this week, but I'd especially note NM who has been phenomenal 👏👏, along with Nitika Anand, MT, and Lee (who was really good in his scenes today), and SC who spoke a lot with her eyes this week...major props to Director Saab for fantastic direction as well👏👏

Everything on point.👏👏

Jhanvi has always been weak,impulsive in decisions. She considered SSO equal to her kids omrupri. She has been seeing him grow up in front of her eyes, she saw him taking care of her kids, saw him taking care of his family,giving n going to any extent to protect his family but today when the day came, n SSO couldn't fix things set right,she just jumped into a big conclusion n gave such a huge punishment.

My only problem is, she knew him very well n now when he is acting something out of his character,how can she conclude he is dishonest or doing something which can harm her family. Even if she thinks, she would have given some other punishment but no,she just jumped n asked him to leave his family n home for life. How is this justice to him who did everything for her n for her kids which even her husband couldn't do. Did she not think he has a family too including parents,n his jaan OmRu.

Tej I didn't expect anything from him since day 1 so I don't have any expectations from him to support SSO.

Pinky, since few days is on point in her defence for SSO. N today she made have tears in my eyes when she said SSO gives badi ma more imp but no imp to his own mom. But this is again because of pinky's deeds. She broke his trust ,heart in the last n the scars still remain. Whatever pinky was pointing out since last few episodes r truth. She sometimes even went overboard insulting OmRu infront of SSO again.😆

For me jhanvi ,pinky both of them are equally selfish n horrible.no one is a better mother than the other.

SSO😭 tried to buy some time n investigate the case but svety used the weakness of family members and created storm within this time.

Rudy 😭 is the breaking one here along with SSO. He is always a. Child to this Superman Called SSO n now he is loosing him to the world because of his parents. Loved how at least he didn't misunderstand his Superman,SSO n stood for him, pointed to his mother she is doing wrong,tried to tell her it's svety who is forcing him to do that. The last scene where SSO is explaining Rudy how he should take care of everything now since ShivRu won't be present was done by the actors brilliantly.

Throughout this week, NM as SSO did a fabulous job👏👏. Especially during the press conference,his voice modulation,expressions r so heart wrenching.👏👏 Even in today's episode, when he asked jhanvi abt what she wants n then when she asks him to leave,his reply with a voice modulation was great.again superb👏 no doubt he deserves all the best actor awards 😊

Mahesh sir n nitika ji r excellent as Tej n pinky throughout the week.their tashan is on another level.👏👏

N now comes the underdog of the show, Leenesh who is brilliant as Rudy since two episodes. I always loved his portrayal as Rudy in the show. But in these two episodes he nailed it 👏👏 I really wish his talent is recognised through his show. I was wishing this since long but it's not recognized till now 😭

ShivRu scene is the most heart wrenching scene of today. N after the episode I'm sad n had tears in eyes but at the same moment I was happy too as my ShivRu ship sails for now without any crack😆

Star performers were NM Lee and Nitika. What a splendid performance it was. Lee just killed it. He just proved he can slay emotional scenes as well.

I loved that short moment where rudy gets angry on shiv and next moment apologizes. It was so fantastic. Shivaay's sudden burst on him to grow up 😭

Such an emotional episode it was.

P.S i dont give damn on TRP. I am glad we have quality in the episode 😳

anyway back to your post, have nothing to add except somehow i dont blame Jhanvi that much. since start she has been shown very weak and easily jumping to conclusions and decision. she even tried to commit suicide once. it was very realistic at least for me to see Jhanvi flip like that, after god knows how many years finally she was happy with Tej( wonder how she forgives him everytime😆)- but first the shares, secondly OmRu's reputation and third Tej's heart attack= Jhanvi going crazy and ruthless

it's funny how these people always forget their past and now when the present is happy, means everything is happy and well.

SSO has been too much of the great wall, and actually it's very funny how everyone just expect him to fix things = that's why they never ever question him anything about his decisions and accept his decisions, unlike Annika who wants to really help him and thus ends up pestering for truth everytime😆

this week was for NM and SSO, and wow what an absolutely kick-ass performance he gave this week👏

from Monday bringing back the SSO to the press conference where he insults the people he loves more than himself and today finally he breaks down and accept he failed and thus he's going to leave👏😭

let's see what next week brings us, and frankly i'm so happy with this track, finally SSO will leave OM, and when the neev and great wall of protection leaves nothing but destruction is left behind😆

a big kudos to Lee for his wonderful acting today, Mahesh and Nikita have been mind-blowing this whole week and Surbhi didnt have much to do or many dialogues- but her presence was felt and she emoted her pain so well without dialogues👏

I had given up on HS but this track has raised my hopes and the performance by each and every member of the team has been phenomenal. The last Shivaa-Rudra scene was so heartbreaking and NM was phenomenal today as usual. For me Lee was the star of today's episode for his brilliant performance.

It was such a fabulous episode and this week we got the best drama. I am very excited and look forward to this track.

LOL I never said this isn't in-character for Jhanvi...but I was just marveling at the level of ruthlessness she too is capable of when she was always projected as the "sweeter" one compared to Pinky...but today we saw that the Oberoi apples don't fall far from their trees...every Oberoi by default has the ruthless gene in them.

What I marveled at today was that I didn't feel EMPATHY for Jhanvi...absolutely zero...and no, not just cuz she was causing pain to Shivaay...no, even Pinky has done that many times and STILL in a weirdly twisted way, I could understand her motivations...Jhanvi just leaves me underwhelmed...a pitiful creature caving in at the first sign of anything that helps feed her insecurity about Shivaay getting one up on her REAL sons...to see her bring up the "tumhaare SAGE bhai nahin hain" taana today...lol so much for ppl thinking only Pinky was capable of doing apna paraya like that...Jhanvi has lost all moral high ground today...Badi Maa, Chhoti Maa...ek jaisi maayein...lol end of the day both of them came down to the same level in their desperation to protect the "rights" of their sons.

I cant stop marveling at the brilliant execution of this track...very crisp and tightly held script , superb direction and stupendous performances by the actors to deliver the mandate 👏👏👏

Such an apt title AY...Paying the price for responsibility...

Never had he thought he would lose control

Never had he thought he would be cornered so badly

never had he thought he would feel so helpless

never had he thought his pure intent would be misjudged

never had he thought he would have to pay such a heavy price for failing just once to protect his family...

He was shattered when he was accused for treason and was accused for shaking the foundation of the family, when he is the one responsible for helping the family stay united...

He was broken when he was accused of not fulfilling his commitment to fix the problem, when he has been attempting to find a solution to this mucky situation and facing mental and emotional pressures in the process

He was hurt when he was accused of being unfair to his brothers, when his entire life revolves around his brothers...

Shivaay can certainly be blamed for not sharing his problems..But thats what characterizes Shivaay. He is someone who will always absorb all the troubles and stresses to guard his family, which is the sole reason of his existence and priority in life...

One big reason he admires and takes great pride in Anika...she is the only person in his family who shares the same values. She is the only one who is emotionally independent and resilient. He knows that he has her by his side and that helps him gain his strength and that's how he replenishes his energy reserves...

Talking about individual performances...

NM was OUTSTANDING in every bit of the episode...

His shock at being asked to leave his house and his family..

His acceptance of his badi maa' command

HIm pleading to have a last glimpse of his bade papa

His interaction with Rudy - the range of emotions and expressions to show a sense of defeat, helplessness, frustration ,concern and his struggle to build confidence in his little brother

NA was amazing in showing her anguish when Shivaay continued to respect his badi maa and was determined to fulfil his promise completely disregarding his mothers pain...I really felt for her..

Lee did really well to show his insecurity and fear of losing his brother...His frustration and anger when his brother was getting crucified by his mother...

This week totally belonged to

Mahesh Thakur - this guy can totally own all the screen space 😆

Nitika Anand - how can she evoke such strong emotions after what she did against Shivika?! Gosh!

Nakuul - the utter helplessness and loss of control he portrays without too much drama.. he lives SSO!

Lee - from the adorable Ru whose comedy timing is awesome, this week he once again owned that initial avatar the audience fell in love with.. the chotu OBro that does masti but is so totally in tune with this bros' feelings!

Kudos to HS for bringing the story back on track ! Am all excited about what is coming up next!
