I never understood why Katrina Kaif is so vilified by some people.
I can understand why people had a hard time digesting her when she was a newcomer. Back in the day, she could not speak Hindi at all. Her accent was awkward. She could barely act. She only got an opportunity because she was dating Salman Khan at the time. She didn't deserve that break and it was fair of people to hold a grudge against her.Over the years though Katrina Kaif has transformed within the industry. Her Hindi isn't flawless, but her diction and accent are acceptable. Her acting has greatly improved and I think she has one of the most impeccable comic timing and facial expressions. From what I understand she is very hardworking and a good coworker to have on films as well.I understand that likes and dislikes are personal preferences. But based on this I feel that people who still abhor Katrina need to let go of their age-old grudge about her unfair break and recognize what she has done on her own merit after that.PS: If multigenerational NRIs can have unrealistically thick Indian accents then why can't an Indian have an unrealistically foreign accent.
