Part 1-Omkara vs Svetlana-The Final Showdown
Svetlana glared at the man standing in front of her and attempted to twist her hands free. Just like the previous hundred times, her present attempt to free herself from the ropes which tied her down, failed.
An exasperated huff of air left her mouth. Svetlana had been in similar situations in the past but never once had she felt so...vulnerable. There was a never-before felt feeling creeping up her spine, a cold, sinister feeling, which in addition to making her nauseous was also impeding her ability to think.
Deciding to take a break from struggling with the ropes, she focused her attention back on the man who was looking down at her with an expression she couldn't quite put a name to. She swallowed. She had made use of Omkara Singh Oberoi for her own purposes in the past and even at his worst, he had been nothing more than an emotional mess that could be easily taken care of by her. Shivaay Singh Oberoi had been the Oberoi scion she had been wary of and with good reason. But today...there was something in his eyes that made her feel terribly cold. It wasn't rage, it wasn't triumph, it was a steely eyed something that unsettled and terrified her.
Annoyed at the sudden burst of fear, she snapped at him, mentally willing the boy to snap out of whatever stupor he was in.
"What are you still doing here Omkara? Don't you want to see your gawar wife? Or are you upset that she managed to survive me after all? I told you Omkara, you should have picked a better sautan for me", she purred.
The muscles on his face didn't move an inch. Svetlana stared at him, acutely uncomfortable. She had expected an outburst and all she had got was a frightening silence and a continuation of the unsettling scrutiny.
"You tried to kill my wife", he said at last. It was said calmly, almost pleasantly. For all the emotion it contained, they might have as well been discussing the weather.
Svetlana struggled again, this time harder. Something was very wrong here. This wasn't the Omkara Singh Oberoi she knew. She hissed in pain as a particularly rough movement caused the rope to graze her wrist hard enough to draw blood.
"Nothing personal darling", she spat at Omkara, turning to rage to drive away the fear. "But I needed an Oberoi hostage and considering our history, who better than your beloved Gauri? And it wasn't exactly just a murder. You have to admit Omkara, blowing her up here, in this very remnant of Kalyani Mills would have been poetic justice at its finest. Poetry and justice-two of your favourite things, isn't it Omkara?"
He said nothing.
Svetlana bit her lip but continued to speak, needing to fill the air with something other than this...this silence.
"I have to admit Omkara, I am disappointed in the Oberoi brothers. I wait for the three of you to turn up and rescue your darling Gauri and you send the local police instead? Sher ab kutte se kaam karwa rahe hai? Tch Tch."
She waited but the silence stretched on. Gritting her teeth, she continued.
"To be fair, if Shivaay hadn't alerted the police, then all you would have seen of your Gauri is a heap of ash and charred meat. Chalo I will give you that although I will admit-I feel a little cheated", she declared in her sultriest voice, batting her eyelashes in a manner calculated to enrage him.
There was a pause.
"You will never be able to harm my wife ever again".
Svetlana almost laughed. Apparently the naive Omkara she had known still existed inside the stranger standing in front of her. She cooed at his innocence.
"Oh didn't Shivaay tell you Omkara? I possess some extremely interesting information about your father which I have agreed to turn over to Shivaay once he signs a paper saying that he and his family aren't interested in pursuing charges against me. So there you have it. Svetlana spends a few months in a nice court ordered sanatorium for those suffering from mental breakdowns and then she comes back to see all of you, especially you sweetheart. Will you miss me?" The grin on her face was as wide as it could get.
"You will never be able to harm my wife ever again", he repeated but this time there was a finality to his words that suddenly made her breathing difficult.
"What are you talking about?" she spat harshly, all traces of teasing gone from her voice. "There are about fifty police officers waiting outside this stupid mill along with your brothers and your private security guards. You have only been granted a five minute interview with me there is nothing you can do to me in that time".
" I won't be doing anything Svetlana", he replied coolly." What will happen is that one of the bombs you set in this building and which was unfortunately missed by the Bomb Squad will go off now and you will perish by accident in the explosion".
Svetlana was struggling now, real fear coursing through her veins. This wasn't...this wasn't how it was supposed to go. This wasn't how it would go.
"You are lying!" she snarled. "The bomb squad defused every single one of my-"
"Except one". He cut her off, holding up a tiny little remote, the sight of which drained the blood from her face. "I have to admit, I might have intentionally concealed this one from them. And deceived Shivaay too", he said lightly. "But I'm sure he will get over it."
She was twisting and turning like a lunatic now, unheeding of cuts and scrapes and intent only on escaping this stranger, for it could not be the Omkara that she had known once. A scream broke through her lips but the futility of it was clear to her even as it sounded in the empty room. No one could hear them here.
She played her last trump card.
"If I die, every single secret concerning Tej Singh Oberoi that I possess will be made public instantly. Your family will be shamed in the eyes of the world and the Oberoi empire will be destroyed. Do you really think that I don't have a plan for this eventuality?"
Her chest heaved with each breath she took, the dreadful feeling of walls closing in only intensifying. He had to fall for this. Shivaay Singh Oberoi had , why wouldn't Omkara?
"Perhaps you are telling the truth", he replied, the quiet, steady tone setting off all her mental alarm bells. "But you see, I don't care."
For a moment, she couldn't believe it. This wasn't possible. This couldn't be possible. Shivaay-she grasped at his name like a drowning man grasping wildly at the first thing he could get a hold of.
"Shivaay", she gasped. "Shivaay would never let you do such a thing. Aur Ramayan mai Ram ki baath chalthi hai, Laxman ya Bharath ki nahi."
For the first time since he had entered this room to face her Omkara smiled. A small, mirthless smile that made their encounter and her predicament suddenly very real. Air, she thought wildly. She needed air.
"Itihaas ko confuse kar rahe ho tum Svetlana", he said gently, "Yeh ab Ramayan nahi hai, Shiv-Puran hai". With a flick of his wrist he pressed the innocuous looking button sitting on top of the dreaded remote.
The scream that ripped from Svetlana's throat echoed in the room like the thud of the executioner's axe. She tried to crawl towards him but found to her horror that her body could no longer move. Looking up she was confronted by two glowing eyes, the vengeful fire in them cutting off her very breath.
"Aura ab hoga mera Rudra-Tandav".
Svetlana could only watch in horror as Omkara Singh Oberoi turned and walked away while the timer on the remote he had thrown to the side ticked down the seconds. This wasn't possible, this wasn't possible and this wasn't happening. She gulped in precious air through an airway that was closing up while she tried again to crawl over to the exit. It took her a few seconds to realize that her body wasn't obeying her commands anymore. Fear had finally triumphed, in the cruellest way possible.
So this was how it was going to end. Through the terrible dread and fear only one thought made its way to her consciousness with clarity and that was that she was going to die because of Omkara Singh Oberoi. Not Tej, not Shivaay, not Rudra or Jhanvi but satyavaadi, peace-loving, gentle Omkara.
Svetlana threw back her head and roared with laughter.
A minute later the crowd gathered below were thrown to the ground as Kalyani Mills exploded into the air, shattering one woman's body into a thousand pieces along with it.

Had to be the first to reply to you... WOW!!!
This was amazing... side-line THAT CVs! Best bit was him letting her now that he doesn't give a damn about her leverage, she won't hurt his wife again. It was sooo perfect! I always think that Omkara is the character with the most shades and unfortunately the CVs constantly overlook it. he is definitely capable of this if pushed enough - he was strangling her for endangering Chiulbul and his mother, so what would he do for trying to kill his wife... let his brother handle it? NO WAY!I honestly don't think these characters suit Ramayan at all, but Omkara's gussa has always been reminiscent of Shiv's third eye opening, so well done for using that concept. thanks for the lovely update.
